Why is the drive shaft in vehicles inclined?
Usually this is due to an aftermarket lift kit or something similar in which the drive shaft from the transmission, which is with the body of the car, needs to go to the differential in between the wheels. the lift kit puts more space in between the body of the vehicle and the wheels. The driveshaft a lot of times is a little longer than stock on these vehicles as well.
Where is the transmission dipstick located on a 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage?
On a 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage LS with 1.8 liter engine, the transmission dipstick is located below the battery, and has a little white ball on the top of the stick. When you have the hood open and your facing the engine, the battery should be on your left. Located under the battery (pretty far down) you can see the transmission. Looking at it you will see the little white ball on the top of the dipstick. If you have a manual transmission, then there is no dipstick under the hood. The lubricant must be checked and added underneath the car into the transmission itself. There are two bolts, one for checking the lubricant and one for filling the lubricant. To check the level of lubricant, remove the proper bolt (I am unsure which one it is on your vehicle), and put your finger in the hole. If the fluid is level with the raised area around the hole, then it has a sufficient amount of fluid.

The standard cab uses a one piece drive shaft. The extended cab uses a two piece drive shaft.

The shif6ts are controled by the ECM (computer) and if does not know the speed of the car, it will not shift.

The "rattle at high rpm" could indicate a worn bearing... either the clutch release bearing or the front bearing in the transmission
More than likely, it may well be that you've ran out of tranny fluid. That will cause the the tranny to pop out of gear, and make a sound that is similar to having rocks in the tranny. But, that awful sound doesn't need high rpms. It will make that sound at nearly any rpm.
Yep, I'm betting it's out or nearly out of fluid. You have a leak. You check and/or add fluid thru the speedometer cable hole. There's one bolt, about a ten millimeter, that holds the speedo cable in place. The hole cable goes into is also tapered, and it is tricky to get the cable out of the hole. You will probably have to pry it out. Be careful not to break the piece the bolt goes thru. A LITTLE pry bar, the type used for prying out tacks is the best device for getting the cable out of the hole. This type pry bar, if you can even call it a bar is the type that has a handle like a screw driver. I screw driver will also work, but it is harder. Good luck.

Yes. Overdrive is best used with longer trips at relatively constant high speed. City driving, with lots of stops, starts, and slow speeds is not what the overdrive is intended for.

hgihly depends on the car. If the engines both came from the same cars it probably will. Its doubtful an manufacturer would make it so they couldn't be bolts to the same tranny, or else an engine upgrade would require a dif tranny. If It's a early 90s gm car, I'd say yes. We need more of a description.

It could be mechanical or it could be electrical. Sometimes if you park on a steep incline or park hard up on a curb, the shift will be difficult to come out of park but it should with a little extra pull on the lever. Also, check the fuses. many vehicles today must have the brake pedal applied to release the shift lever from park. If the fuse is blown that protects that circuit, the shift lever will not move.
