Monte Carlo ss 2000 When engine light is on and temp gauge doesn't work the AC doesn't work. When the engine light stays lit or doesn't but the temp gauge works the AC works. WHY?

I found a recommendation from another blog site about this problem. You don't need to be an expert to fix this problem for free. Simply follow the bellow steps to reset the grounding and the comptuer.

1. Remove the negative cable on the battery

2. Remove the PCM fuse (found in the top fuse box under the hood on the passenger

side) and replace with the same fuse after a few minutes.

3. Removed the ground wire (found under the hood on the driver's side above the headlight bolted to the cross bar that covers the radiator) and sand any paint off of the body of the car at the contact point and also sand bolt and connections.

4. Reconnect the ground.

5. Reconnect the battery. That's it. I had the same problem a while back and this worked for me.

Does leaving the hazard lights on too long drain the car battery?

Answer 1There are couple of variables involved which make difficult a determination of available hours of function, but the simple answer is YES, leaving the hazard lights on too long can seriously drain the battery.

The variables include; the number of bulbs [determines the amount of current drawn from the battery], and condition of the battery [whether fully charged, or run down low from, for example, many attempts to start the vehicle].

I know from more than one personal experience with Ford pickup trucks, that leaving the hazard flasher lights on overnight [even with a healthy, fully charged battery] will result in either a dead battery in the morning, or at least depleted to the point that it cannot crank and/or start the engine!

The problem is worse when there is a trailer attached to the vehicle.j3h.

Where is the electronic flasher on a 99 town car?

What is not working causing you to think it is the flasher? Your TC (I have a 98) does not have flasher per say, it has a lighting control module. The LCM is located under the dash to the left of the ashtray near the steering column. It is partially covered by a panel held by plastic tabs. This panel must be removed. The LCM is a black plastic box approximately 3"x5"x2" and is held in place with 2-7mm screws. Remove the screws and unclip the module. The LCM controls many functions (signals, flashers, delay lights, convenience lighting, etc.). You may have fuse, bulb, broken wire, bad ground, or multi-function switch issues and due to the LCM reliability and cost ($500) would be a last resort replacement concern.
Hope this helps.

Where is the flasher unit located on a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire?

The Haynes manual says that on the newer models, the flashers are in a "convenience center" located on the driver's side kick panel in the footwell. I haven't seen one, so I can't be much more help. If you don't find it, it may be located inside the steering column shroud.

With the car not running and the radio off, turn on the turn signal or the 4 way flashers and listen for the click click click of one of the flashers. That should help you find them. While you're replacing one flasher, you might as well replace the other one too, just because.

Where is the flasher relay located on a 2000 Chevy blazer?

passenger side under dash

You will have to remove the two kick panels under the dash board on the passenger side. There will be one in the center of the truck and another one on the passenger side. There are six 7mm bolt's that hold on the kick panels on. The panel in the center may have the optional 12V accessory plugins, this you will not have to remove simply let panel hang out of the way. When the kick panels are out of the way you can then remove the three 7mm bolt's holding on the glove compartment door. once removed the flasher is now exposed. It is on the right side of a wiring distribution block if it's still as it was from the factory there will be a green strap that will be holding it in it's socket.

How do you replace the right front turn signal bulb in a 1999 Toyota Camry?

First, open your hood. There should be one Phillips head screw that goes into a tab at the top of the lens. It screws into the upper radiator support. Remove it. The only thing holding the lens at this point is another plastic tab at the lower corner that is behind the fender. Use a long (12" or so) flat head screwdriver to pry that tab loose while applying slight forward pressure on the lens with your other hand. Then turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it. Reverse the pocedure for installation.

How do you change a left rear tail light bulb on a 2000 Lexus RX300?

Open rear of the car and look next to taillight for two small clips (about 1" diameter). Use jack- knife to pop the clips out. Unscrew the two screws behind them with a Phillips screw-driver. Pull the entire tail-light unit straight out. Twist the light bulb socket out and pull light bulb out and replace. Replace the unit straight in and replace screws and clips. Voila!

The inside of the taillight is held with 2 prongs...so when removing use some "pull out pressure"....when replacing, align both the top & bottom prongs into the body of the car, then replace the 2 bolts and plastic clips.

Where in a 1996 Ford Thunderbird are the flashers?

There is a large round chrome fuse called "The Flasher Unit". It is located next to or close by the fuse box down by the drivers feet, or there might be a fuse in the fuse box,the fuse box is labeled.

How do you fix brake lights and turn signal lights on a 1995 Ford Bronco when the fuse is not blown and was working perfectly the night before?

I have found that changing the FLASHER will usually bring the lights right back to working order. Although another thing I have discovered is that even after changing a flasher and while the fuse may not actually be blown, the terminals on the fuse can be oxydized, try lightly scraping the blades, either with a fingernail or pocket knife. And if after re-installing them the lights then work. Then yes all you need is a new fuse. Do not continue to use that fuse, remember it is going bad. Anyway I've seen this as the cause, maybe 4 out of 5 times. Now, there is something more to be said if the Hazard lights themself dont work, but your signals, tail lights and so forth are working. This will require pulling the steering wheel and column shroud and replacing the turn signal hazard switch. Good Luck Happy Motoring Sometimes the answer is even simpler. Check the bulbs. When they are old and become brittle, they tend to "burn out" when shut off and the filiment cools and contracts.

Where is the turn signal flasher for a 94 Chev Cavalier?

I replaced mine about a month ago .. i have a 94 chev cavalier 5 speed... As you can see its not exactly with the rest of the fuses.. but its not far from them.. it is located about 6 inches below the actual fuse box located there in the lower dash... actually you will need to remove the lower half of the dash cover ..then.. as you are looking up with the regular fuses to your right... it is located also to your right ... right against the outside 'wall' ... [[User:67.138.223.13|67.138.223.13]] 14:46, 27 Mar 2005 (CST)~PART 2[[User:67.138.223.13|67.138.223.13]] 14:46, 27 Mar 2005 (CST)~ I was told by another on the internet that this same fuse was located to the left ..as you follow the brake line up into the dash.. only thing i can think of is that maybe in a automatic that is where it would be if there was no hand brake.. and since in my 5 speed i have a hand brake and the fuse is somewhat where the foot brake would be.. i really hope this helps .. it almost seems as if im confusing myself now :)- Tabitha

Were you can find the turn signal flasher and hazard flasher in Honda accord 93?

It is located front seating area, driver side, under dash, above fuse block, mounted on kick panel.

The left turn signal on your 1994 Honda accord blinks twice as fast though the bulbs are both operational What is causing this?

the one blinking twice as fast is burnt out. less resistance in the circuit causes current to flow faster. new bulb is the fix.

Not always as simple as that. And, in fact, your system uses a bi-metallic strip inside the flasher. The more current, the further the bi-metallic strip bends and the longer it takes to return so the flash is slower. Burned out lamps reduce current draw and increase the flash rate. But you say your lamps are good.

Some basic checks will help you locate the fault area: Are there repeaters on the side and are they working. What happens when you brake or have the car lights on while indicationg, do the symptoms change. What happens when you put the hazards on.

Some lamps are double filament and can be forced in the wrong way round, and into a single filament socket. In addition, a bad ground connection will cause all sorts of odd effects. The fault is more likely to be at the back; more can go wrong in the cluster. Check both bulbs are the right type. Swap the bulbs over and see if the fault moves. If it does the bulb is faulty. If not, it is the holder/wiring.

Later models use an electronic flasher relay where, apart from a "hiccup" short first flash and dashboard indication, the working lamps will continue to flash at the correct rate.

How do you replace the front turn signal bulb on a 2001 Corvette?

For the 2001 Corvette it's simple for replacing the Parking and Turn signal bulb. Using a Sylvania yellow bulb, part# 3157NA LL or 4157NA LLI did not worry about wasting the battery as I have a charger and it is much easier following the instructions below if you just turn on the head light and leave it on. I had to charge the system but did not have the hassle of manually lifting the headlight. much easier see addition at bottom to remove the hood stop to make you arm fit.

1. Instead of wasting the battery power, remove the rubber cover on the manual install wheel for the headlamp. 2. Turn the headlamp wheel manually until the lamp is fully opened. 3. There are three phillip screws on the plastic cover around the headlamp. As you face it looking down two on the right and one on the left. Remove the screws and the plastic cover. 4. You can't get your hand in from the front. From the side of the fender reach down and twist the plastic housing holding the bulb. Pull the old bulb out with a pair of dykes(pliers), notice the word "Sylvania" is facing up as you remove the bulb. 5. Insert the new bulb the same way and twist the housing back into its holder. 6. Replace the plastic cover and its screws around the headlamp. 7. Manually close the headlamp and replace the rubber boot. 8. Test the opening of the headlamps and check the new parking light and turn signal. 9. Operation should take no more than 15 minutes.

1 - raise and support the vehicle 2 - Remove the front fascia lower closeout panel. 3 - release the brake caliper cooling duct from the front fascia and position aside. 4 - Remove front turn signal lamp bracket. 5- Remove the lamp bracket retaining spring from the front fascia. 6 - Remove the front turn signal lamp bracket retaining screws. 7 - Disconnect the sockets from the lamp. 8 - remove the lamp, with the bracket, from the vehicle.

Reach inside the air intake opening just below the turn signal and push the black friction-fit hose back and down so it is out of your way. With the fingers of one hand, you can press the top of the black plastic duct (air intake) down to make room for your other hand to squeeze into the opening. Reach inside the hole and locate the wiring harness and lamp socket for the turn signal. The harness is on the bottom of the lamp assembly, so that the bulb is essentially sticking upwards into the reflector housing. Turn 1/4 turn and pull wiring harness out of the opening. Change the bulb and reverse the process. Takes about 4 minutes. Lance

One more comment... Make sure you use your wife's hand! Yours may be too big! If you can't get your hands in there, use the headlight method instead.

Another comment, the bulb holder has a locking tab on the front right side that must be depressed and the bulb turns counter clockwise if looking from underneath (or clockwise if looking down from the top) with the locking tab held in. Change time about 3 minutes.

After raising the headlight, remove the headlight shroud, two screws inboard and one out board. Slide the shroud forward and off the headlight assemble. This will allow you room to see down to the turn signal assemble and also allows you to hold the bulb assemble up to the junction between the base of the headlight and the nose of the car to replace the bulb.

One extra thing that will make it easier for big guys whose arms are tight getting in. take off the stop for the hood. It is located right to the inside of the headlight. you will know as it will be in the way of your arm going into the opening. I did that and my arm had lots of room and made the job a lot easier.

Brake and turn signal lights don't work for a 1998 Chevy suburban how can this be fixed?
