I went to Advance Auto Parts, they sold and installed a bulb for my 2009 TDI Jetta - took all of five minutes. The guy knew what he was doing, pulling work gloves from under the counter - total cost $16 (he said the Sylvania bulb was OEM replacement).

Despite the important sounding name it's easy to replace. It lies somewhere between the air filter & the throttle body buy a new one and compare it to parts you see along the air intake system(A lot of German cars like VW & Audi put them in the air filter box bolted to the top section that you lift off to see the air filter. Chevy likes to put them right in front of the throttle body. Usually prettty easy to find & work on.). A few bolts, & a couple wires. At least save yourself some money on labor costs.Note: Mass air flow sensors can be cleaned to restore performance in most cases without having to replace them. The hot wire variety can be cleaned with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, electrical contact cleaner, or aerosol cleaners specifically designed for Mass Airflow Sensors . NEVER use carburetor or throttle body cleaner as these are too harsh for the delicate platinum wires. There are many cleaning methods that can be found by an internet search. In rare cases, your car may have a Karman-Vortex type air sensor and these cannot be easily cleaned and are more often found on cars that are either turbocharged or supercharged. When your mass air flow sensor goes bad, it cannot react properly to changes in the air entering your engine, so it will provide either too little or too much gas for your airflow, causing issues such as hard starts, rough idle, sluggish throttle response, and pinging.

The factory marks are incorrect, the best way before removing belt is marking with tink on pulleys and the guard behind them, or if too late, find some one who has a the same year, and just take the timing cover off and have a look, it not easy job to by yourself, have someone who has a bit of mechanicaly knowledge to give you hand to do it.

By fans, I assume it has more than one. One of these fans will run continuously when the A/C is on. The other fan should only run when needed to cool the engine down. In stop and go city driving in the summer with the A/C on, both fans may very well run continuously. At highway speeds, only the A/C fan should normally run. Sounds like you need to have your cooling system serviced. A complete drain and flush of the cooling system and a replacement of the thermostat may help. Also make sure the radiator external fins are clean and not clogged with bugs and debris.

Make sure there is vacuum going from the intake into the inside of the car. If it is, the problem is in the programmer and needs to be checked out by a mechanic. There is a small metal black box 1"x2"x1" with about 6 hoses running into it on the top of your intake manifold, and most likely a disconnected hose coming from a big black plastic box on your firewall, your vents don't open from the magic buttons on the dash, it uses the vaccum from the intake.....that same problem boggled my mind for about 3 months till I was changing the spark plugs one day and found a hose that went nowhere =P

No, seriously, you do them one at a time. Pull off the boot for the plug wire and you'll find the plug inside a hole in the tin. Unscrew the plug with a wrench and remove it. Gap the new one to 0.030", apply antiseize to the threads, screw it in and torque to 25 lb-ft, then put the wire back on. The number-one plug is kinda tricky to get in, but it will go.
The oil pressure is low. Drop the pan and replace the oil pump. The screen on the pickup could be sludged up, indicating poor service habits. VWs will sludge up if you neglect to change the oil at the intervals recommended. VW will generally not honor any warrantee in this case.
