How do you change the spark plugs on a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.8 liter?

1)With hood raised properly you should always disconnect the battery, but it isn't absolutely nec.

2)Remove the 2 bolts that hold the ignition coil down above the spark plugs on top of the cylinder head. Note (there are 2 coils and 2 plug wires) ((Tools you will need: 10mm socket, 3" extension (1/4" drive), 1/4" ratchet)

3)Once the bolts are removed, disconnect the wiring connectors (not the spark plug wires) from the coils.

4) Twist the 2 spark plug wires and 2 coils slightly about 1/4" turn to keep them from sticking while you try to remove them.

5) Pull gently, at first, upwards to remove (ONE AT A TIME) the 2 spark plug wires and 2 coils from the cylinder head. Note:(they may stick so you may have to pull slightly harder to remove them than your original effort) (Repeat this step for each of the 4 cylinders)

6) Once the spark plug wire or coil with boot is removed you need to remove the plugs. Insert the ratchet, extension, and socket assembly down into the cylinder head until the socket fits snugly unto the spark plug. Turn counter-clockwise unti lthe plug loosens. Once the plug is entirely loose remove it from the cylinder head. ((Tools you will need: 5/8" spark plug socket w/boot, 10" extension (3/8" drive), 3/8" ratchet)

7) Remove old plug from the spark plug socket and replace with the new plug.

8) Reverse and repeat the steps to reinstall each plug. Of course make sure you torque the plugs to spec and gap your plugs!!!

My 99 beetle heater ac fan just stopped working is there a fuse for it?

Did you ever find an answer? My 99 just did the same thing this week. My husband found fuses on top of the battery and they were all good. So, yes there are fuses. But, that wasn't the problem with my car. If you find out more information please share it. I'm concerned it could be very time consuming and expensive to get this repaired. Thanks. My wife has a 1999 VW Beetle with the 2.0 4cyl. The cooling fans won't come on. I've replaced the Thermostat Radiator Fluid, Temp Sensor, Fan Control Module and pulled the fans and connected them directly to 12V (the fans are good) and NOTHING has fixed it yet. I've checked all fuses I could find and all are good, fans are still INOP. I finally bought a book for the thing and read about some relays that are behind a kick panel on the bottom of the left drivers side floor. I'm going to test those this weekend and see what happens.

Not really! Have you tried unhooking the negative battery cable? If it then works for a few minutes, it is a sensor inside the door! I am working on a bypass for this common problem! A toggle switch for the window RELAY.

Pull the spark plug wires off the spark plugs. Remove the spark plugs with a spark plug socket. Install the new spark plugs and put the spark plug wires back on. How do you remove a door panel on a 2000 VW Beetle?

There are three T-25 head screws along the bottom of the inside door panel. Remove them. The face of the inside door handle is removable--just pry it off, probably don't even need a screwdriver to get it off. Underneath, you'll find two #1 Phillips head screws. Remove them. Finally, grasp the door panel from the bottom and pull up. It hangs over a little lip against the window. Watch the door lock, make sure the panel clears that. You should have access to all the wiring harnesses that keep the panel attached

How do you change a brake light bulb on a VW Golf MK5?

The light cluster must be removed from the body. First, untuck and pull back the carpet on the inside of the boot where the broken light is. Carefully unplug the four-way connector from the light cluster. (If there is a safety catch on the connector, the connector can be gently removed by using a plain flat head screwdriver to slide the built-in switch on the connector all the way to OPEN, and then with your other hand gently unplugging the wired connector.) There are two plastic studs (or two metal nuts) securing the light cluster to the car which must be removed. (A nut remover in the form of a screwdriver will make your task a lot easier.) Once they are off, the light cluster can be easily removed from the rear of the vehicle. There are three plastic clips on the light cluster which must be carefully slipped off the bulb holder moulding to avoid breaking them off the light cluster. Once the bulb holder moulding is dismantled, you can see there are three bulbs in the bulb holder moulding. The rear light bulb and brake light bulb are both standard and are each rated at 12 V and 21 W. The third bulb in the centre is the indicator bulb and appears to be a quartz halogen lamp. To refit: Replace the broken light bulb. (It may appear burned out, or the filament in the bulb may be visibly broken.) Ensure the wired connector is pulled back into the boot so that it does not get caught under the light cluster. Refit the bulb holder moulding back onto the light cluster, ensuring that the plastic clips are engaged. Once the light cluster is in position, the two plastic studs (or two metal nuts) can be refitted. Plug back in the four-way connector and test the lights. Go and make a cup of tea, you deserve it.

2001 volkswagen jetta GLS 1.8T DTC code shows Catalyst efficiency low on threshold does anyone know what could be wrong cause volkswagen dealer told me that the catalyst converter needs to be replaced?

replace o2 sensor behind cat.converter first, you probably do need a catalyst, the emission warranty for that is 8 years or 80,000 miles minimum and may be longer on some models so if you have less than 80,000 miles and the date car was originally purchased on is less than 8 years ago the dealer will replace it at no cost to you.
