unreliable. the anti theft screws me. i can't even get my own car started. it just keeps honking.

If your handbrake is on or if the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder in your

engine compartment is LOW , the " brake " light in your dash will light up

use the ignition key to turn to on or to start and the system should reset. I stopped using mine because it would trigger at any time wothout an intrusion

how do you get the batteries out after pulling apart the casing???? just cant see how to get to them other than breaking them out???? any suggestions? need some help plz....... Thnx Bill

If you do not have the keyless entry key fob, you can use the key. Insert the key in the door, turn to unlock and hold. If this does not work try turning to the unlock position 2x with in 5 second (the same as unlocking all the doors from the driver's side).

My 1995 Chyrsler Cirrus had this random red wire sticking out by the fuses under the steering wheel. What I had to do was take a 9-volt battery and touch that red wire to the positive terminal while touching the negative terminal to any piece of metal on the car. This acted as a shut-off switch and it worked like a charm! The headlights stopped flashing (i had long-since pulled the horn fuse), I put the key in the ignition, and she started right up!

Start by replacing the battery in the remote.

You will need wiring diagrams for the ignition the probably the fuse box. Where to put the box it's up to you. I putted it behind power stirring panel. And you should disconnect the battery when you are working with car electronic system to avoid short currents and misfunction of SRS system.

This is not programable...you need to go to the dealer and they can order one for you to match your electronic module in your car.

The alarm activated by motion sensor in the vehicle and activated by opening the door or truck.

I own a 1991 Camaro that has the passkey, and I trip it accidentally a lot. When this is done, go under the dash and there is a brown/black/purple wire with a black connector. Unplug this, then plug it back in and the system is reset and the car should start.

Granted that your car is still in operating condition, one of two things has gone wrong: 1)your car is being stolen, or 2)the key reader in your ignition has gone bad. if it's you sitting in the car, I'm going to assume the later. Now, you have a few options in how to deal with this. You can go to the dealer and get it fixed for about $800 or so, which is not really worth it if your 98 Malibu looks anything like mine. You can keep reseting the system every time it activates (do this by turning off all electrical devices installed in the vehicle and roll up the windows, then turn the key into the "on" position for approx. 10 minutes, doing this will restart the theft system and the light will go off, however, mine got to the point where about, every 5th time I started the car the theft system would activate). The final option is probably the best, permanently disable the system yourself. If you take your car to any shop, they'll probabley tell you that it can't be done which is bull, but as long as you know how to use a screwdriver and wire cutters you can get it done yourself for free. All you have to do is pull out your ignition and find the bundle of wires that consists of 3 thin wires, 1 black, 1 white and 1 gray. Isolate and cut the black wire. Tape it off. put your ignition back in place. Done. You now never have to worry about that thing locking up your ignition ever again. The light will forever remain on though, at least as long as the car is on.

Turn the key in the drivers side door lock to the locked and then unlocked position. This should clear the alarm and reset it.

you can't, it is built into the body computer

I don't have an answer yet but I do know that the antitheft works to interrupt the power to the fuel pump. Mine has just started coming on at random times so I will be doing some more trouble shooting to find the problem and the cure.

I have the same problem with my acheiva because of disconnecting the battery for cleaning. One way to turn it off is to turn the car on (but not crank it) and then take the key out while all the doors are locked.

-I was to;d that only the dealer can do it.They need to send to Germany for a new code and then they reprogram the remote.

On a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am: turn the key to the on position for 30 minutes or until the security light goes out. The car should start.

I have pontiac grand am 2002. I reset alarm by leaving key fully on for 10 minutes until " security" light stops flashing. turn off key and wait for 15 seconds. Car will restart. Easy but annoying. Good luck

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable from the battery.

You can remove the fuse in the fuse block however don't forget to put it back in or the car won't start good luck

ok its real simple, the only thimg you have to do is pull the fuse, the alarm will deactivate
