Appreation of rupee and its impact on Indian economy?
There is good saying - a million dollar question, probably the usage of the saying might change in near future to - a million rupees question. Certainly, this might happen if more analyses are made on the devaluation of dollar and appreciation of Indian rupees. Within a span of 12 months, the value of dollar has significantly dropped from around 47 to 48 rupees to around 39 rupees. Of late, the value of 1 US dollar is around 39 rupees.
Indian economy is among the fastest growing economies of the world. The appreciation of the rupees against the dollar would be another giant sign towards its economic prosperity and augmentation. However, the economic epidemics like poverty, unemployment etc., could not be dealt in the short-run.
The appreciation of the rupees will help the economy in many ways. There will be positive impact on importers and negative impact on the exporters. Let's evaluate the possible impact of the devaluation of dollar and appreciation of rupees on the export & import in India. The dollar has been the popular medium of foreign exchange for a long time. Most of the payment for the export or import is made through dollar.
The devaluation of the dollar will have a positive impact on the importers, while it will have adverse effect on the exporters. Importers of goods and services will be getting the goods and services by paying less, as they used to pay 47 rupees against one dollar, now they will be paying around 39 to import the same. The exporter will be getting their return in dollar at the cost of 39 rupees per 1 US dollar, whereas they used to get around 47 rupees against one dollar. The difference in the previous and present exchange would have high impact if the volume of exchange is in millions of rupees or dollars.
In the past one year, the dollar has dropped by around 20 per cent against Indian rupees. This reveals that positive or negative impact on volume of export or import would be around 20 per cent, which can not be over looked as the exporters are suffering losses, whereas importer are on gain. However the impact will remain until there is depreciation of dollar against rupees. If it continues, then a great change can be expected on a long run in international trade arena. Another impact would be the fantasy of dollar has been losing ground day by day.
Analyses made it clear that earlier people were fascinate about dollar due to its value against Indian rupees. But the scenario has completely changed. Those, who were planning to move to US for job, now might plan to settle in Britain, as British economy is one of the strongest economies in the world.
The appreciation of the rupees will have a positive impact, whereas in the global economy the Yen, Euro and other currencies would find place in the foreign exchange race. At the international level, the sliding dollar will have huge impact as it is the global player despite all the hiccups. Finally it would worthwhile to say - depreciation of dollar: a million rupees question.

Are people blind before age three - since most people can't remember being born?
Babies develop excellent vision by about one month old. In the first few years of life, the brain lacks the ability to form long-term memories. This may account for the fact that people cannot remember their own birth.
What happens if the same 120V source is supplied to both hot terminals of a 240V appliance?
I can see the need for this question. The power goes out frequently around my house. I have a generator that only puts out 110VAC. I made a special adapter to plug it into the breaker box. I made it so both legs in the box are live. This way, I have power anywere in the house. Of course I turn off the main breaker, but I also keep the 220VAC breakers off. The appliance will function but it will be taking twice as much current from one leg of the mains instead of equal amounts from both legs. If the total power required by the appliance is too high - and other appliances, lamps, or whatever plugged into that same leg are taking their normal loads - this way of supplying the 240V appliance may cause the main breaker for that single leg to trip. If that happens you must stop supplying the 240V appliance in this way or at least turn off all the other appliances running from that leg until the breaker stays "on" quietly and safely. Remember that such 240V appliances, as supplied for 60Hz systems as in US or Canada, are designed to run on two "hot" legs (Black and Red), not just one leg. So this kind of "double hooking-up" should really only be tried in emergencies, as the Answer above describes. why would you even ask such a question? The appliance will not function.
If you are talking about the condition of the lights when you turn on the key and not after startup, this is normal. The instrument panel on most cars is absolutely cluttered with warning indicator lights and buzzers. These lights are color-coordinated so that different colors indicate the severity of the potential problem. As you start the car, all of the lights should come on, and as the computer verifies each component is working properly, the light is turned off. You should only be concerned with lights that remain on for several minutes after the car has been started. Check engine or service engine soon lights can be tricky to repair, so a little help on your part could really save the mechanic some diagnostic time, and save you some money! Treat check engine lights-service engine soon lights, and all dash lights like traffic signals. A Red Warning light indicates an immediate danger. Pull over, turn off the car immediately and assess the problem. Symptoms that usually cause red warning lights are engine over-heating, low oil pressure, transmission over-heating, low battery voltage, and brake failure. Red lights can also indicate a safety issue, so proceed with caution as you maneuver to stop the vehicle. Unfortunately, when the red light is illuminated the problem is at its peek. It can be a matter of seconds before permanent engine damage occurs. Some common things to look for when a red light comes on are: low anti-freeze, engine oil, and transmission fluid levels low brake fluid missing belts faulty alternator that is not charging the battery or a bad battery A Yellow Warning light, (Usually a Service engine soon light) indicates "Proceed with caution." The onboard computer system has indicated a potential problem and is alerting the driver. This computer system resets and re-tests all sensors and indicators each time the car is started. The computer system is capable of correcting some minor abnormalities, but if the light continues to come on after multiple car starts, it is probably sensing something that would imply a visit to the diagnostic mechanic is in order. Some common things that may cause a yellow light (Service engine soon light) to come on, but will probably require an experienced technician to diagnose are: anti-lock brake systems safety restraint systems, such as air bags emissions components computer-related problems, such as faulty sensors If you are driving your car and a yellow light comes on, ask yourself these questions: 1. Did you notice problems when starting the car? (slower to start than normal..etc.) 2. Have you noticed a decrease in fuel mileage recently? 3. What is the over-all running condition of the car? Is the engine misfiring or not performing like normal? Are there any new noises from under the hood? Turn off the radio and listen closely as you drive the car. 4. Do you notice any odors, such as a rotten egg smell, or see visible smoke from the tail-pipe or from under the hood? Make sure to note the exact location and wording of the light that has been coming on, because Murphy's Law dictates that the light will suddenly not come on when you take it in to the repair shop. In some cars, "engine" is the more serious red light, whereas others use "check engine light," which is a yellow caution light. If the mechanic thinks you are seeing a yellow "check engine light," and your car is indicating a red "engine" danger light, this could be a costly mistake for both of you. Why? You could be having a serious over heating problem and the mechanic is assuming you are having a less serious caution light illuminating. The mechanic then might give you the "green light" (no pun intended) to proceed with your out of town road trip with the kids. Yikes! Start the car, and point to the light to ensure good communication of the problem. Intermittent dash warning lights can be a pain and hard to diagnose! Diagnosing the problem in some cases will require the light to be on while the mechanic performs the diagnostic test. If the light is not on when you bring the car to the shop, you might be wasting your time and the mechanic's. SIDE NOTE: Keep a "running condition and dash light" log in your car to help the mechanic pin point the root of the problem. I have a customer who keeps such an accurate log of her cars' complaints that sometimes I can diagnose the problem correctly with the help of her log and by taking her along on my initial test drive. I can do my diagnosis usually without opening the hood to her car. This saves me time and she saves money on a diagnostic charge. This customer can also hold me to my warranty time period, because she had this particular complaint written in her log book.

What causes popping when accelerating 2000 dodge caravan?
the engine is extremely upset!!!! check for dirty air filter, low fuel pump pressure, partially blocked fuel filter. if an engine cannot "breathe" properly, it's trying to tell you "get me serviced immediately". the popping you heard probably set off a code in the ecm. a car engine uses a roomfull (12 x 12) feet of air a minute.
Could an unleveled toilet flange be the cause for a toilet leaking water from the tank?
An "unlevel" toilet flange might be a little difficult for a wax ring to seal, but could not in any way be responsible for a tank leak. If the tank is leaking between the tank and bowl, remove the tank, check the tank itself for a crack or defect, then check the flange gasket and tank bolts and gaskets. How do you know your flange is unlevel?
If Have a 2004 BMW 745 LI where do to go to get the mileage reading?
To check your milage you need to press the lower button on the top lever on the left side of the steering several times as it goes through the different options in the display at the bottom of the left side of the dash
Although unlikely, this could be due to some sediments in your water - a whole house filter could help with that. It is more likely that it could be some residual sulfur/iron buildup from the filter which manages to get past the unit right after the unit backwashes (kind of how a little lint always gets past the clothes dryer lint filter, especially when you pull it out to clean it). I believe the Super S system uses charcoal filtration as the last step so it could theoretically also be some of the charcoal leaching out of the tank after a backwash, etc. Here is some links with more information about the Culligan Super S:

What causes water to run from under the base of the toilet when it is flushed and how do you fix it?
When Installing The Toilet Back, Get A Straw Cut It In Half. Put One Over Each Of The Bolts Then Guide The Straws Into The Holes For The Bolts. This Works Great And Saves Time And Trouble Getting It Back On. Where the toilet meets the floor, there is a wax (or similar material) ring which creates a seal. If this is leaking, you will want to replace it. Turn the water off. Flush twice to empty the tank. Disconnect the water line from the toilet. (Have some towels handy!) Unbolt the toilet at the base. Carefully remove the toilet from the floor. Remove the old wax seal and replace it with new, available from any hardware store. Replace the toilet, water line, bolts etc. Turn the water on and give her a test flush. You should be all set!
How do you change the gasket between the toilet tank and the toilet bowl?
If the toilet is conventional, the gasket is just sitting between the two. 1. Turn off the water supply to the toilet.
2. Flush the toilet to get as much water out of the tank.
3. With some old rags, sop up all the water left in the tank.
4. Loosen and remove two nuts and washers on the two bolts which secure the tank to the bowl.
5. Carefully lift the tank off off the bowl, and set it upside down on the floor.
6. Remove the old gasket from wherever it's stuck, and clean all fragment from the contact areas on both the bowl and bottom of the tank.
7. Install the new gasket on the bowl flat.
8. Remove the bolts and old washers from the tank, and clean the mating surface.
9. Install new washers on the bolts[they go inside the tank, under the bolt heads]]
10. Carefully set the tank atop the bowl, being very careful to get perfect alignment on the first try.
11. Reinstall the two bolts with new washers.
12. By hand very carefully reinstall the nuts and washers on the bolts, running them all the way up by hand.
13. With a wrench, very carefully final tighten the nuts, but not too tight as it is very easy to overload the china bowl or tank, resulting in breaking one or both, ruining the entire toilet assembly. The nuts don't have to be extremely tight just up snug so as to just slightly begin to compress the washers.
