No, the voltage regulator determines the alternators output voltage. That's all it does. If the regulator fails the battery level can drop to the point that there will not be sufficient charge to start the engine, but the regulator will not directly cause the engine to not run.

The fuel filter is on top of the gas tank. It may be accessed through a panel under the back seat.

You need to replace the Distributor cap and rotor. Be sure that the coil wire is not WHITE or RUSTED on the ends were they go in the cap and coil, If they are then replace the COIL and the plug wires too. Just be sure that you use Factory Parts not after market.

it sounds like you have the cam timing and crank timing off by one tooth. you will need to open it up and do it again

Give the battery a shock, it should give your car a bit of a boost. MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT IT FIRST OR YOUR CAR MAY EXPLODE. (the shock may ignite the petrol).

Absolutely no. A stun gun gives off a high voltage , very low current charge. Not enough to start a car. And the high discharge could destroy the electronic of the car just like a bolt of lightning.

Check the timing in the caravan. It sounds like the timing has jumped, and the engine could backfire then not start, and could not even turn over.

Start with the simple stuff first. Have you put in any fuel line deicer? Sometimes you can get a little water that pools in the low parts of the line and freezes when the weather gets cold. To check this possibility, use a little starting fluid next time the engine won't start and the weather is that cold. Spray some starting fluid into the air intake and see if you can get the engine to run for a few seconds on the starting fluid. If it will they you can know that the problem is related to fuel delivery. If everything runs great when the weather is a little warmer, it's probably ice in the fuel line. Good luck. Make sure the throttle plate is closing enough to allow proper choking for cold weather start.

This is caused by the fuel pump burning up. Replace the fuel pump. The easiest way to do this is to cut a hole in back above the fuel pump !!*** CAUTION***!! Be careful there are possible gasoline fumes that could ignite! Take care and watch the fuel lines. Check your fuses. Good luck

It also cannot prevent the engine from starting. However a clogged catalytic converter can cause the engine not to start. Fuel in the oil is caused by a leaking injector on a FI engine or a bad needle valve and seat of an carburetor engine.

Check the fuses. By hooking it up backwards, you may have blown many fuses, and/or completely damaged the vehicle wiring system, and/or shorted out the starter motor.

Alternator oil pipe? There is no oil pipe connected to the alternator that I have ever seen. The alternator has sealed bearings and does not require any outside lubrication. Are you sure you are looking at the alternator? Is it possible you have a leak at the power steering pump and that is what you are looking at? I really have no answer for you, only more questions. Please clarify. Clay is absolutely right. The alternator has no outside oil connection. Find out what REALLY is leaking. A/C compressor? Power Steering?

I am having the same problem. I don't know the answer yet, but I know that the response above is insulting. I can tell you that it, in my case and possibly yours, is not the key switch, the ignition switch, the solenoid, or the voltage regulator.

two fuses by the battery they are blown they dont look it but they are had the same problem put new fuse in and ur ready to go good luck
