You can hook up the starter, on your 1984 Chevrolet, by attaching the ground cable and the hot cable to the appropriate posts on the starter. Bolt the starter into place.

You are going to have lots of fun trying to accomplish this task because like mine this vehicle has a computer controlled timing and ignition system. You will have to contact a dealer about the actual procedure to do this because there is a certain method to doing this , there is a pcm module under the driver seat which controls this system and it has to reset. but you just can't unplug it otherwise the engine will not run at all which it needs to be in order to do this.

Assuming its a coversion van you need a thin open ended wrench about 1 3/4". looking just below the sliders you will see a large bearing plat that lets the seats turn. On top there is a center nut that is hard to reach and has the nylon locking material to prevent it from backing off. Untighten (counter clockwize) until you have removed the nut then lift the seat off. The base is usually welded to the floor bu the conversion company so you need a grinder if you going all out.

To fix the temp gauge check the temp sending unit first. A bad sending unit is a common problem with the temp system.

You need oil in the compressor just as you need oil in your engine. If there is no oil, it will lock up and seize internally. yes it can cause damage to the bearings in the compressor. The unit has oil in it to lube

It depends on the size of the truck and size of the engine. I have a 5.0L V8 Ext. Cab with a 25 gallon tank.

When I replaced mine, I twist the black ring the the wires run through. The halegon bulb has and o-ring seals so you might have to wiggle it to remove the bulb. Remember to not touch the new bulb with your hands. You don't want to get hand oil on the bulb because it might shorten the life.

the fuel pump relay for a 2000 Chevy express van is in the right side of the engine when looking inside but its inside a black box in the corner once you take that cover off the relays and fuses are right there under the cover will show u which relays and which fuses go where

Remove the cylinder heads from your Chevy engine. Remove the head gasket and clean the head gasket surface. Put the new head gasket on and reverse the process.

If it's the same as a 2003, which it probably is, there is a fuse panel under the hood on the driver's side. There's another one under the driver's seat. I found the fuses for the tail lights under the seat.

An internal cooler is a small internal radiator inside the lower end of a regular radiator. It has two lines running to it from the transmission. This internal radiator gets cooling from the "coolant" that flows through the radiator regularly during running of the vehicle. The reason it is at the bottom of the rad (usually a veritcal flow type) is that the hot coolant comes into the rad at the top and then is cooled as it falls to the bottom. The smaller internal rad is also cooled by this "cooler" coolant (antifreeze and water mixture) and thusly cools the hot transmission fluid. This internal rad is separate from the regular cooling system and is a "closed System" within a system. An EXTERNAL transmission cooler is a small rad that is used exclusively for cooling of the automatic transmission fluid. It is completely separate from the rad but many times is mounted in front of the radiator. External coolers have much more volumetric efficiency and can handle larger quantities of fluid. They are installed on anything that may have a trailer towing package. Automatic transmissions get very hot while towing and need the extra cooling if they are pulling a load.

Possibles: 1)Plugged fuel filter 2)Gas guage incorrect reading & no fuel in tank 3)Fuel pump not working 4)leak in fuel line or loose clamps on lines (sucking in air) Verify by getting a can of quick start (I've used aerosol can of brake clean before) or other and carefully spray into carb/throttle body and see if it will start or try to start. A little bit of gas poured in will work also (I SAID A LITTLE!!!) and if it starts/runs or wants to you know its a fuel problem. If nothing changes you have a probable ignition problem. Be carefull, as a backfire up through the carb can start a fire or you could loose your eyebrows and some hair if you're to close or stareing down the hole.

According to the service literature I am looking at, for the 97 Chevy 1500....

In the C & K series 1500 pickup, it is located at the outlet of the condensor. On the U series it is in the condensor to evaporator lines near the high side service valve or the support clamp. On the G, P, L, M, S, and T series it is at the inlet of the evaporator.

It also states that you will need to use the special tool orifice tube installer remover part number J-26549-D or J-26549-E. But I have done many an orifice tube and have never used a special tool. Your call on that.

They are either the wrong bulbs or one of the filaments is burned out. The bulbs should have two filaments. One is illuminated when the lights are on. The other is brighter when the brakes are used.

the first thing you can do is take it to a mechanic which should do it for about $700.00. if you would like to do it your self you first have to take you engine out and put it on an engine stand. if you an Aussie then ring bursons or repco and order a head gasket kit. if you are from any other country then refer to your local car modification shop. after the engine is taken out undo the nuts and bolts etc. to reveal the head itself. one removed take old gasket off the head and place the new one (from the kit provided) where you took the original one from. once complete do the nuts and bolts etc up and make sure not to do them to tight because if you do you are looking at a bit of cash to get new ones and there is a risk of cracking the head. if that happens then your screwed. so do it all up and then put the engine back in. fix the brackets and there ya go :). good luck.

Don't try to do it yourself. Airbags tend to be a little touchy, and if you make a mistake it could injure you and be quite expensive for a new airbag. You need to pull the steering wheel. There are one or two screws under the turnsignal switch that holds the ignition switch in place. Pull the screw and the switch should come out easily.
