Your Toyota tacoma driver side window stopped working?

Can you raise the window in my 1998 Pontiac transport van?

Yes, I can. Remove the plastic housing from the door with a screwdriver - it pops off/out. release the button/control housing allowing you to clearly see and work with the wiring harness. The button itself easily is removed from the harness connector [well it's not physically easy - you have to pull and rock it and watch the clasps meant to keep it in place.

When you have fully removed the 'button' you will have a connector with 7 wires - a clip - w 7 connecting points for the switch to slide in. Both ends are ground but connect a small piece of wire to Terminal 1 or the small black wire. Jump or connect the other end to terminal 3 [assuming skinny black wire on end is 1] Now with 1 + 3 connected or shorted - also connect with a separate jumber to terminals 3 + 4 - remember there are seven looking like this _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Short 1 and 3 and then short 3 to 4 giving power to motor with voltage polarity set for 'up'. IT's that simple. For Down - short same 1 +3 and then 4 + 5 as 'switch' giving power to lower window. Good Luck.

How do you roll up the window if the power window motor is not working on a '92 Honda Accord?

Remove the switch for the window, being smart about electricity, follow these instructions. power the motor by unplugging the switch, and using a 12 volt battery and some wire, touch posotive and negative tooposite sides of the plug. If there is no response you will have to disconnect the window from the regulator push the window up and support it with something sturdy until you can replace the motor. If the motor works. simply go to the nearest junk yard and get 2-3 window switches. keep changing them till one works. than put the switch back in the door. Good luck, don't melt anything. note: the ignition does not have to be on?

How do you remove the door panel to get to the driver side window on a 1995 Monte Carlo?

Remove all screws around the outer edge of the door panel. Carefully pry off the decorative cover behind the door handle and remove the torix screw. Lift up firmly on the door panel to remove. To reinstall, line up molded plastic hooks on back of door panel with notches in the door, push down to secure, reinstall torix screw, decorative cover and screws. Also before you lift away the panel, you'll need to undo the electrical connectors for the power window and door locks

Maybe a security switch...inside you find a thermo reset...like that you find in hidraulics...

there's no note in the manual of Matiz....

this device swith off the 12 Volt of Fuel pump alimentation maybe when the car crash and the temperature rise , to avoid fire .

I had some problem with this because the car did't wont start alternatively and random..

The yellow cable is 12 volt from battery thru the fuel pump relay.

Passenger window does not go back up it is a power window 2002 Chevy Venture?

Hi,

If the window goes down, but will not go back up, there are only a few possibilities of what could go wrong. These are:

1) Wiring between the driver & passenger side of the van.

2) One of the switches is going bad (driver or passenger side possible).

In order to find the problem, a little troubleshooting will have to be done. A simple multimeter would probably do the job. I have found a description of the system and a wiring diagram that should help figure this out, and I have provided a link to that below.

What you are looking for is power and ground at the passenger side connector wires when the switch is used. The ground signals actually have to travel from the driver side switch all the way over to the passenger side for the system to work, so I would start looking there.

Good Luck, Greg

How do you replace electric window switch in the drivers door on a 2003 crown Victoria?

If it's anything like my 2007 Crown Vic, which it probably is, the trim piece the window switch is attached to just pops right out in a upward motion. You might be able to grab a hold of it and yank it up, or at least start prying it up with a screwdriver first. From there it just unclips from behind. I just replaced my switch, took a whole 2 minutes.

How do you repair the drivers window of a Crown Victoria that won't go down?

this works for all windows with the power up/down option

1. open up the door and verify that the window sissors is somehow broken. it can also be the cable to the up/down motor. (the cable has always been the problem for me)

2. go to ford and buy the sissors assembly (it includes the lifting mechanism and the cable to the up/down motor. costs around $50-$60. (you can buy replacement rivets for around 1.00 each, but you need an extra large riveter. these rivets are LARGE! (i didnt buy these)

3. remove several rivets holding the sissors in place. i used a grinder and a dremmel tool. and remove the sissors from the car.

4. paint the grinding marks that you made so they wont rust.

5. insert the sissors reverse of how you took it out.

l6. secure the sissors back to the door. you can use the factory rivets or do what i did (since i didnt have an extra large riveter). go to home depot and buy some nuts and bolts and secure with lock tite meduim. i feel this is a better solution to the rivets as no more grinding will be needed to perform future repairs. also clearance is not a problem so the nuts & bolts just made sense for me.

7. test your window and close up the door.

:

There are no scissors, there is a window regulator that has a pulley with cables and the window attaches to the regulator with rivets. You will need a drill to remove the rivets, two for the window and two for the lower part of the regulator. First, remove the window motor, shiny brass screws that are torx bit mainly and there should be three. Now, you will be able to maneuver the window and it has to be positioned in the openings where the rivets are accessible. On the drill, you use a drill bit that is larger than the head of the rivet and drill off the head only and the rivet will fall out. Caution I have seen people drill through the rivet and shatter the window, so be CAREFUL. Now you maneuver the window out of the door, then you drill rivets out of the lower reg. There are also two nuts that hold the regulator as well. I would not bother doing rivets during installation, I just use screws, nuts and washers. Remember to save the white plastic window protectors when installing back together.
