What could cause a squealing noise when the engine is cold?
I suspect you have some loose or worn belts. Check the wear and tension, adjust and/or replace them. Probably the power steering belt. John In Montana
Answermost likely that first answer is correct. In the morning, your alternator needs more energy to charge the battery up from sitting over night. So it takes more power to turn the alternator, putting more stress on the belt, causing a loose or worn one to squeal until the battery is near or at full charge. just try getting the drive belts tightened, if that doesnt work, get new ones on.Where exactly are the orifice tubes on a 1998 Ford Windstar with front and rear air conditioning?
On the front unit, the orifice is located in the inlet tube of the evaporator core. Find the line that runs from the condensor to the evap core. Undo that connection, and the orifice is inside the evap core tube right there. On the rear unit. there could be either an expansion valve or an orifice. I am looking at the Ford service manual, and it doesn't say. But either one will be accessed the same way. Remove the left quarter trim, and look at the lines going into the evap core. If there is an expansion valve, you will see it right away on the inlet tube(small diameter tube). If there is an orifice, it will be located inside the inlet tube of the evap core, just like the front unit.

How do you use the overdrive on a 98 ford windstar?
you push the button at the end of the gearshift to engage it, its for towing vehicles or carrying a good size load
I think you have it backwards. It is by default in overdrive. Pushing the button on the end of the gear selector will disable overdrive. You would want to disable it to pull heavy loads or if you are in a hilly area, especially at lower speeds.
Where is the daytime running light module on a 2001 ford windstar?
Interesting question - my 2001 SEL does not have daytime running lights, and I'm not aware that Ford offered them.
cracked head, or leaking head gasket, or cracked block
Yes, you or a repair shop can replace wheel bearings in most cases. The cost and difficulty vary greatly depending upon the vehicle.
If you're planning to do it yourself, you MUST get accurate information (preferably from a service manual) on how to do it. Also, specialized equipment (pullers, presses, torque wrenches) may be required to remove and replace the bearings.
If you don't do it right, the bearing is likely to fail quickly, which could be dangerous, expensive or both.
Where is located vehicle speed sensor on Mazda MX 6 1990?
I am not exactly sure on the 1990 model, but on 93-97 it is located on the transmission next to the firewall aprox 20 inches below the brake master cylinder. Remove the air cleaner, there is a diagonally positioned bracket w/ 2ea. 10mm bolts and a ground wire that must removed for access. It is held on by a 10mm bolt which is easily removed with a 24" extension and 10mm socket. The VSS is difficult to see and will need to be rotated w/ tools and a wire lasso to provide vertical lift. The removal process can take several hours and a great deal of patience.

Where is Answers for ford windstar 1998 gl?
Mostly in the Windstar category - they all apply to the GL model
from my past experience its one of two things : 1. someone left the gas cap loose after fueling clear the code and drive after tightening gas cap. 2. you have a defective solenoid or broke hose or item in the evap sys . only two ways to check a smoke machine for evap systems or a vaccum pump for evap sysytems. its possible to have a sticking vent solenoid but that requires a smoke/vaccum tool and a scanner that can activate a solenoid. cheaper to go to the dealer, than spend thousands buying tools. The Hyundai Accent and Elantra often have a problem with the charcoal canister becoming plugged. On the driver side of the car in back by the gas tank there will be the canister and hoses coming out of it. Pinch the hoses with your fingers and listen for a crunching noise. If you hear it disconnect the hose and little charcoal pellets will run out of it. If so then you need a new charcoal canister. They cost around $125 and can be found online or at a Hyundai dealer.
