Heating AC and Engine Cooling

disconnect the battery and then disconnect the wiring from the cooling fan. there are 4 screws( 8mm) that hold it on the radiator. be careful when removing it as not to damage the radiator. I found this information at www.autozone.com, under the repair info

I NEED THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION TOO. MY COOLING FAN DOES NOT WORK TILL THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE REACHES 3/4 HOT.

Sounds like you still have air in the system. Make sure it's topped off and bleed all the air out.

There are two relays (one low speed and one high speed relay) located on the Power Distribution Center (rectangular box)

There should be a drain valve on the radiator on the bottom passengers side If not just undo the bottom radiator hose.

there is no "block drain", just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the block

You have to know what the problem is, before you can know the cost. Low Freon? $100. Bad AC compressor $5/600.Condenser, evaporator, hoses?

you need a gauge to check the PSI while charging...the parts store has a new kit called "A/C recharging for DUMMIES" and comes with a gauge, hose, and freon and most importantly a book... a manual will help with diagnosis and repair, and a shop manual should be available at the local library in the reference section for FREE, make copies of the right pages, good luck...:)

Look under car...look for blue c as p near compressor...

Run a pressure test on it.

You Do Not Need To Bleed The Air Out Of The Cooling System. Do This. Let The Car Cool, Remove The Radiator Cap. Start The Car (with the heater on ) Add A Bit Of Water To The Radiator. Put The Cap Back On. Fill The Resivoir To The Proper Mark. Let The Car Run Till At Normal Tempature. Then Shut It Down. Let It Cool Check The Water Level It Should Be OK. If Not Add As Needed, Including The Resivoir. Check It A Couple Times During The Next Week Or So. There is a bleed screw sticking out of a tube that runs along the front of the motor. The screw sits in front of the number two piston (front right of the motor from the perspective of someone sitting in the car). Remove the bleed screw and fill the coolant tank. When coolant begins to come out of the bleed hole, replace the screw. My service manual says that the car doesn't need to be running, but I think it wouldn't hurt.

Are either of your fans working? If both are not working then there is a separate relay for the fans that is located under the air filter attached to the metal frame.

I have a 92 e-150 conversion van and the cooling fan is driven by a serpentine belt. The fan blade should rotate freely because the fan is mounted on a clutch hub filled with liquid and will start the blades rotating once the engine has started.

OnV6 4.3 with 4L60E transmission will faulty shift solenoid cause not to shift into high gear?

first drain the fuild then locate the tremostat housing remove the return hose which is top port on raditor. Unbolt the housing romove old gasket lay gasket sealent on the gasket both side but make sure you already remove the termostat and replace with new and then install gasket then tighten the housing hand tight install hose to the termostat housing a tighten the clamp for the hoses and replace fuild that was been removed or reuse if not dirty and start and run car or truck at idle speed and check for leaks

waterpump is on front of engine. On the 3.3 and 3.8 it is driven by the serpentine belt. On the 3.0 and 2.4 it is driven by the timing belt.

Start engine. Run it for 10-15 minutes. Open the hood while at idle. Place your hand on the top of your engine. It should feel hot...

With engine still running, remove the radiator cap. Please keep in mind if hot, water will spray.

With radiator cap removed, watch the water inside. It should be flowingfor a moment, and then no flow for a moment, the flow a moment, so on, so on...

If the above, hot, water flows then stops, then flows again, is happening, then get your temp gauge fixed, if above is not happening, then you either put the thermostat in upside down or you forgot to put it in...

Ummmm, Radiator fans run off a temperature switch. Sometimes they put the fan switch and sender for the gauge together so I suppose it could be related. Have you checked to see if the wires are unplugged? Just a thought.
