Is it possible to stop a leaking heater coil by putting a liquid stop leak in it?
it all depends on how big the hole is. but i would not suggest ever using a "leak stopper" unless it is an absoulue emergency, they always cause problems down the road which can get very expensive. I agree with that fella above...If you MUST use something use a table spoon of black pepper. This stuff is a miracle worker and its not AS detrimental to the other components of the cooling system. My grandaddy showed me this "indian trick" on an old Dodge car with a crack in the water pump....It ran fine for several years answer i agree with not using stop leak it makes the problem worse down the road the black pepper solution i have used many times in engines fro 4 cylanders all the way up to 450 horsepower truck engines most laugh but it is fool proof and will come out of engine when u dump radiator other than that, replace heater core they are not expensive
I had to bypass mine and set up an internal flip "on/off" switch on the dash.
How do you remove a water pump from a 1998 Plymouth Breeze?
Once that is done, you need to place a jack under the engine using a block of wood and take pressure off the motor mount. Once that is done, remove the motor mount on the right fender wall. You will also need to remove some of the clamps holding hoses and A/C lines in place to move them out of the way. Once the motor mount is out of the way, you need to remove the upper timing belt cover. After that is done, you will need to remove the aluminum motor mount base from the engine to gain access to the timing belt. Once all that is out of the way, you will need an Allen Wrench to release the belt tensioner on the timing belt. (note: BE SURE that the engine timing marks are set in alignment with there corresponding marks on the block and the timing belt pully!!)
There is a hole on the left side of the tensioner which you need to place a pin or smaller Allen Wrench in to lock it in place after you remove the tension off the timing belt. You push the pin in toward the block to lock the tensioner.
Remove the timing belt (which you might as well replace seeing you've gone this far anyway). You then will be able to remove the five bolts holding the water pump in place which is run off the timing belt (yes, it's a nightmare). Replace the water pump and put it all back together.
Good Luck.

check your rad fluid. If it appears to be full leave the cap off. You may have air in the system. Watch the fluid it will start to circulate when the thermostat opens. watch your temp gauge it will tell you when it is up to temp. Just like the cap says DO NOT OPEN HOT !!! Also check the thermostat if it does not start to circulate. I just went through the same thing on my 98. If bleeding the air out of the system does not work try this. With the truck running check the temp of the coolant lines going to and from the heater core. (about 1-1/4" in diameter hoses that go to your firewall.) As you face the engine the left hose is the inlet hose and the right is the outlet hose. If the inlet hose is warm-hot to touch and the outlet hose is cool then you may have some blockage in the heater core. Now turn your heater fan off or to low speed and check the outlet hose again. If the temp is rising the you still have some flow through the core and may be able to flush the gunk out. I went to the hardware store and purchased a female garden hose replacement end that would fit a hose with a 5/8" ID. Take off the clamp that you would secure the hose with and just use the barb end to insert into your heater core hose. With the car off and the engine cool remove the right outlet hose from the waterpump. Then the left hose can be split at the union fitting that is about half ways to the heater core. Now you can try to flush the core. Insert the hose barb that you have purchased into the right outlet hose and move the left inlet hose away from the engine so that you don't spray water on the block or manifold. Turn the water on and flush the core. You will probably see some grey water come out of the inlet hose. Run till clear. Turn off the water. Remove the hose from the outlet hose and move to the inlet hose. Flush again with the water running in the opposite direction till the water is clear. I had to do this about 3 times till the core was clean. I did use hot water but I don't think that is a must. After you are done flushing replace the hoses and add coolant to the radiator till full. Start the engine and let it idle till the the thermostat opens. You should see the coolant rise and then fall in the radiator neck as the air is bleeding out of the system, replenish the coolant as it goes down. . While the system is bleeding you should be able to feel the outlet hose get warm. If it is you should have heat. Good luck and be careful.
Fill it up with Freon
DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE TO RESET THE COMPRESSOR- RECONNECT THE CABLE . PLEASE USE A GAGE WHEN ADDING THE FREON. YOU SHOULD HAVE ABOUT 5 MINUETS TO SET EVERY THING UP BEFORE IT TURNS OFF AGAIN.
Would a bad AC pump cause the engine light?
yes its because a bad ac pump may be locking their for creating more stress on the engine, mainly on idle the engine might try to turn off or run rough their for creating a check engine light low engine power. or cylinder miss fire..............EXCUSE ME but i feel the vehicle owners should be informed.... Iam new to this site but am i the only tech. in this house? I love learning things and iam praying the other subjectcs of my intersst were NOT the same type ive found here.I do not wear a cape, but ive had to re on EVERY AUTO QUESTION i came across...... I would like to elaborate on your question, when you say bad do you meen inop ? iis it cycling, does it click off and on ? bad is a very tough word for a technician.the a/c compressor,if it did seize up your belt would would squeel or seize up.but as the norm, unless you own a dodge p.u. the check engine light could be anything that has to do with the pcm,or ecm.
How do you replace the blower motor on a Kenworth truck?
This procedure varies between different models. We'd need to know which model you were referring to in order to answer this.
Where is the radiator drain on a 1999 Ford Expedition?
follow the upper radiator hose where it goes into the top of the motor and it will be right there.
What is a time delay fuse used for?
A standard fuse will blow in just milliseconds when excess current flow or a short is detected. A time delay fuse on the other hand may take 5-10 seconds to blow under the same conditions. You would want to use a time delay fuse in a device that uses lots of current at startup but then uses less after it is started. An electric motor or compressor is an example.

Where to add freon to 1988 Mazda b2200?
It's now referred to as "refrigerant". It is also commonly referred to as Freon.
Find the low pressure port,,,should be the smaller of the tow ports on the refrigerant lines. It will have a black, blue or green cap on it. That is where you introduce more refrigerant to the a/c system.

Is antifreeze always supposed to be visible in the overflow tank?
Antifreeze should show up to the level line when cold normal but may raise some when hot and fall below some when cold. This is due to expansion and contracting from engine being hot or cold. A slight fall below this line can not mean much it can also evaporate some. A small leak can loose some but if you are putting fluid in everyday or two then you probably have a leak someplace.
Why doesn't the cooling fan come on in a 1994 Saturn SL1 when the fan and sensor are both good?
In cooler weather, the fan(s) will take longer to energize, or maybe not at all, depending on the ambient temperature. How do you know that they sensors are good? Try turning on the AC to MAX and see if the fan goes on or not. Those fans also do have both relays and fuses - check them.
You have replaced the heating valve on your Ford Fiesta and there is still no heating in your car?
Guess that wasn't it, huh? Sorry, no offense intended. Is the coolant full? is the thermostat working, heater core plugged? Need more info to go further, what else has been replaced? why did you replace the heater control valve? based on what?
What is wrong when a Neon cooling fan cycles on and off repeatedly even when cold?
Is the air con switched on? If not you are looking at faulty fan switch or wiring.
Why causes a car to boil over after shutdown?
It is running hotter than it should. At shutdown, the temperature will go up and the engine will boil over. Engines today can have an operating temperature of as high as 265 Degrees Fahrenheit. When they are under pressure the coolant will not boil. Release the pressure and they boil over. You need to check a few things. Replace the radiator cap and see if that helps. It may not be holding the pressure. If so, that was probably the problem. If not, replace the thermostat and flush the system. A good thermostat will be ruined by overheating. Other possible causes of overheating are a bad fan or an electric fan that does not continue to run at shutdown. Loose belt, that is not turning the pump properly, exhaust back pressure due to a clogged converter, dragging brakes, and an engine over advanced in timing. answer generally if coolant boils over after shutdown, u have to much coolant in system wait till car is cooled down then check coolant level in over-flow tank there should be 2 marks one says cold level ,1 says hot level when car is cold make sure it is at cold level and not above
Do the fans on your Mazda 323 only work when the engine reaches a certain temperature?
almost all cooling fans run temp to help get engine warm up very quickly and may turn going the road on cold days to keep temp up in the engine
