about the interior staying on all the time. i had someone come in one day saying the interior light was always on. had a look and found the little switch just left of the headlight switch was in the "on" position. silly mistake. i think if the switch is in the upmost position, the interior light will stay on. i dont know if this helps you.

Often the latch has been closed and the door won't catch until the latch is popped back. Use a screwdriver or other tool, make sure the door is unlocked then operate the inside door handle and open the latch lever with the screwdriver.

Recursive locks (also called recursive thread

mutex) are those that allow a thread to recursively acquire the same lock that it is

holding. Note that this behavior is different from a normal lock. In the normal case if

a thread that is already holding a normal lock attempts to acquire the same lock again,

then it will deadlock. Recursive locks behave exactly like normal locks when another

thread tries to acquire a lock that is already being held. Note that the recursive lock is

said to be released if and only if the number of times it has been acquired match the

number of times it has been released by the owner thread. Many operating systems do

not provide these recursive locks natively. Hence, it is necessary to emulate the

behavior using primitive features like mutexes (locks) and condition variables.

On the side of the lock, you will see a small button. Use the end of a pen and push it in, set the lock to the numbers you want then push up on the lock release. The lock is now set.

Replacing a lock does not necessarily mean you have to have separate keys. There are two ways to go about it.

You could go to a dealer and order a replacement cylinder. They can match it to your key. The downside to this is that, as any dealer part, this will be expensive.

You could also buy a new cylinder and take it to a locksmith that specializes in automotive locks. They should be able to rekey the cylinder to your existing key.

Make a tool to remove it: Take an old coping saw blade, grind it to a gradual point than stretches over a few inches. Wrap electrical tape around the thicker part to use for the handle. The teeth of the coping saw blade can get a grip on the broken key and pull it out.

I have the same problem. I talk to the customer support guy too but they don't have any clue about that. They gonna send the new cylinder kit for me.

pry it off from the front. use a screwdriver with the tip covered in electrical tape. its pressure fit.

the hardest piece to remove is the door handle. I suggest after removing the screw in the handle under the little hinged cover that you put a small flat screwdriver in just above the unlock switch, then pull the handle slightly. then insert a screwdriver below the handle directly below the unlock switch and it should come loose. its held in w/ two pressure clips in there and that's where they're located.

its difficult to pull the piece off w/o putting your screwdriver in there as i described above because the handle has a small piece holding it in under the front of it that cant be pulled off w/o sliding it back a bit.

you get something very stiff and keep trying to lever it open, if this doesnt work smash the uncscrew the screws and crawl in, if this doesnt work then just brake your trunk

TAke it to a auto trim shop as there can be a number of things wrong with it.

It is a little tricky, but can be done. Get under car and look up towards the latch area. Take a screw driver and reach up on pasenger side of latch (top area) and start feeling around (you will not see anything as on top) and push on the release lever (push towards the drivers side). If lucky, you will get it to pop open. It takes me about 10 seconds. If not, keep feeling and pushing slightly.......you will hit it. If you can, look at another 92 Pontiac's hood release system. It will make sense and one can see it is not that hard if you have a general idea where the lever is. Added information: Sorry, do not want to make it sound that simple "it takes me about 10 seconds". It does take a bit of work and at times it takes me a 10 seconds and other times much, much, longer....just depends how lucky I am............but I always get it. Once I replace the whole cable I will fill you in on that process as it will take some work to do that. Mark
