How do you remove excess oil from alternator belt to stop the sqeaking?
First thing to do is fix the leak that allowed oil onto the belt in the first place. Then replace the contaminated belt with a new belt.
OR WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING SPRAY ENGINE DEGREASER ON THE GROOVES OF THE BELT. YOU COULD TRY DISH SOAP AS WELL. IT MIGHT TAKE A WHILE TO GET ALL OF THE OIL OFF, BUT KEEP SPRAYING IT AND EVENTUALLY THE BELT WILL BE CLEAN AND THE SQUEAK WILL STOP

How tight should the serpentine belt be on a 1998 jeep wrangler?
There is no adjustment to the tightness. The idler wheel holds the proper tension.
CORRECTION: There is adjustment and it's found on the Power Steering Pump Bracket. It's hard to give a measurement of "how tight", but if I grab my belt between the Main Crank pulley and the Alternator, I can flex my belt about 1/2"in either direction with some good pushing. If it wasn't adjustable, you wouldn't be able to get the belt on the tensioner pulley to begin with.
How can you replace Mazda MPV serpentine belt?
Hi, Replacing the MPV timing belt is a simple procedure. The trick is to turn back the # 1 cylinder head cam gear a few notches c/w, then install the belt over it. Reindex the timing marks for the # 1,3,5 cylinder head cam gear. Then it easily goes over the tensioner wheel. Of course, you have to pretension the belt tensioner wheel and hold it with a drill bit or similar device. Use safety glasses though !!! Don't forget to remove the dril bit, and reset the tensioner ! If you make sure the cylinder # 1 is in the compression/firing mode before dismantling, then there will be no problems. There is no need to remove the radiator. Use a regular torque wrench and a special tool or a pipe wrench to hold the crank pulley, whilst tigtening the crank nut. Rotate the engine through TDC for cyl # 1, to check for TDC compression for cyl #1. Recheck all fasteners for tigtness. It is adviseable to use loctite on all fasteners for safety. All the other covers, bolts, etc. are simple stuff. The main thing is to keep everything clean. Yes, the Mazda is a simple engine to service, but it is simple to make mistakes too. Disconnect the ignition coil and run the starter until the oil light goes off. Don't run the starter continuously, but make 2, 5 sec. starter runs, or so. Reconnect the coil and start the engine, presuming all the other fluids were replenished first. Then drive downtown and tell the Mental Health personell that you have underlying mental problems. We all do, but at least the timing is correct. Ha, ha,... Umm, the question was for the serpentine belt, not a timing belt. The 2000+ MPV does not have a timing belt. It has 2 timing chains. To change the serpentine belt, tension must be taken off the belt by swinging the tensioner arm away with a ratchet handle. There's a square hole in it just for that. Then the belt can be easily threaded off. There's a diagram somewhere like the underside of the hood or somewhere in the engine bay to show where the new belt goes. Needless to say it helps to have a friend holding the tensioner.

Where can you find a diagram of serpentine belt on 2001 Honda Passport?
under the hood, the owners manual, a chiltons or haynes manual or at autozone.com
A 2001 Honda passport is the same thing is an 2001 Isuzu rodeo. Isuzu made them and Honda bought and resold them under their own name. yes go to autozone if possible. if not maybe they can email you the diagram. They will also loan you the breaker bar. it makes it easier but you don't need one. it is simply a wrench or socket attached to a 2 or 3 foot handle for leverage. I think i used a 14mm wrench You need as much leverage as possible because it is very hard to push the tensioner pulley down.the tensioner pulley is right above the alternator pulley just left of center of the front of the engine. Route the serpentine belt everywhere except for maybe the idler pulley (a small pulley on top which doesnt run anything) and push DOWN or clockwise on the tensioner pulley. you do this by putting a socket or wrench on the bolt in the center of the tensioner pulley and push down or clockwise. this will give you the slack you need to slip the belt over the last pulley.
Just make sure that the serpentine belt is in all the tracks fully.
Anyone can do this!

How to put dual alternator on a Ford f250 2001 with the 7.3 it has single alternator?
That truck should already have dual alternators on it. I have six F-450 2WD service trucks in my fleet (a MAJOR West Coast Fire department) & all of them have dual alts standard- in fact, Ford built them no other way. The top alternator is about 140 amps & the bottom unit (right/lower in front of the exhaust manifold) is 120 amps. If for some reason you have a single alternator set-up (one large one centered on top), then you can get the complete dual set-up with wiring from a wrecked/salvaged E350 or E450 Ford Rescue Ambulance package. Get the whole enchilada: serpentine belt pullies, idlers, A/C pulley, W/P pulley, tensioner, etc. The dual alternator package may have a wider belt on the E Series than the F Series & belt width is critical. There's a difference in the wiring harness, too. Good luck.

How do you replace a serpentine belt on a Chrysler pacifica?
this is a 2006 chrysler pacifca 3.5l sideways mounted engine.
well it can be tough and its much easier you can acess the bottom of the car. get a skinny serpintine tool that has the 1/4 inch adapter. put the tool into the square hole located on the bottom portion of the tensioner near the tensioner pully. pull towards front of the vehicle with one hand. hold. and pull belt off the altenator with the other hand. now i would recemmond then just takking off all the belts off the a/c, power steering, crank pully. then once you you get it all up and sorta out. you want to get it off the tensionor pully. thats tricky. you have to push it off the pully. (towards the driver side when your standing on the passenger side of the vehicle.) twist the belt so it can slip down between the tensionor pully and the timing chaiin cover. then down and out. the belt should be out. then make sure you have the correct belt by matching them up side by side end to end. (may need 2 people.) now to put it back on i started with the tensionor pully. rule of thumb is smooth side of belt goes to smooth pully and ribbed belt goes to ribbed pullys. the tensionor pully is a smooth pully. to get it back in its correct home you must fold the belt in half. smooth part to smooth part. (so the ribbed sides are on both sides. now you will notice a gap between the tensionor pully and where the tensionor actually bolts into the timing cover right above the tensionor pully. that hap your going to have to push the folded belt threw. stand on the passenger side of vehicle. put folded belt on top of the tennsionor pully to the right of the tensionor. now i used a medium sized ice pick long enough to reach behind the tensionor to pull the belt through that gap i was talking about. once you got it almost all the way around that pully it can usually be a breaze from there. the belt portion that comes off the bottom of the tensionor pully then goes towards the back of the car around the crank pully near the bottom of the car. look at a belt diagram and you should be set the rest of the pullys are easier by doing it by the bottom of the car.
good luck

How do you change a serpentine Belt on a 1995 Buick Rivera?
If '95 is the same as '96 you would find the right sized socket and put it on the bolt of the spring loaded belt tensioner. lift up ratchet, it will be on the unloosening position as it is a left-handed thread bolt. as you work the ratchet push down on the socket assembly as it is easy to strip the threads of the bolt if you rely on twisting force alone. draw a diagram of the way your belt is on now as it will come in handy when you reinstall a belt. also, you have to remove part of the motor mount. it is held on by a nut and the stud also has to be removed with a torx socket. put jack under the engine, remove motor mount bolt that goes thru the rubber part of the motor mount. lower engine and reverse out torx head stud bolt. belt diagram should be in owners manual. the belt is very difficult to put on even when you have done things right. good luck big job acually the diagram for installing it is on a sticker in the front part of the car under the hood ,the socket for it is a 15mm .you have a supercharger? mine is a 95 and supercharged.you have two belts ,one is power sterring and alt.the other is waterpump, supercharger,ac. you must remove the small one first ,to get at the big one .and buy a good one ,not the cheap one or you'll be replacing it sooner than you want to .

first make sure you note how the belt is run so that you can replace it in the same manner. there may be a routing diagram somewhere either on the underside of the hood or on/near the radiator shrouding. make your own if not. next find the tensioner pulley--black, kind of round, with smooth running surface. stick the proper sized wrench into the center of the tensioner pulley and twist. this should allow you to loosen the belt enough to remove it from any one of the other pulleys.

FIRST PUT A BREAKER BAR WITH THE CORRECT SIZE SOCKET ON THE BELT TENSIONER BOLT AND RELEASE THE TENSION ON THE BELT, WHILE DOING THIS SLIP THE BELT OF OF ONE OF THE PULLEYS. THEN SNAKE THE BELT PAST THE FAN AND ACCESORIE DRIVES. INSTALLATION IS REVERSE OF REMOVAL. I LIKE TO LEAVE THE ALTINATOR PULLR FOR LAST BECAUSE IT IS EASIER TO REACH WHEN YOU ARE PULLING ON THE TENSIONER. (WATCH YOUR FINGERS!)
