Where is flasher unit on 2000 mec 230 slk?
In the 2000 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230, the flasher unit is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side. You may need to remove the cover panel to access it, as it is usually mounted in the fuse box area. Consult the owner's manual for exact details on the location and identification of the flasher unit.
What would cause a turn signal to blink fast?
There are at least a couple more possible cause for a rapid cyclic rate.
1. A high resistance ["partial"] short circuit in the circuit for the turn signals. Some examples being a wire pinched in a crevice in the sheet metal resulting in damage to the wire insulation allwing a very miniscule contact between the wire and the grounded sheet metal, or corrosion build up in one or all of the bulb sockets.
2. If a replacement bulb was the incorrect bulb, having a heavier filiment than the proper bulb, it would draw more current, possibly a lot, as the change of flash rate is dependent on current value. The heavier the filiment, the greater the current draw, the greater the current draw, the greater the flash rate.
3. Oh, there is another, but you didn't mention it, so it may not apply. The more bulbs which are on the circuit drawing current, the faster the rate. A very good example is when towing a trailer with lights plugged into your vehicle's light system. The additional "load" created by the larger number of bulb filiments burning, can cause the flash rate to be incredibly fast. For this problem, a "heavy duty" flasher module is made, and sold at most auto parts stores.
How do you get the signal lights to blink in a 98 mercury mystique?
You have to start by checking the bulbs or the flasher I think it may be the flasher.>>>>>>>>>>>>>
2001 Pontiac grand am flashers keeps clicking after turn signal is off?
You might want to check the fuse first. But my guess is your turn signal switch is going bad. I had mine fixed at the local Pontiac dealer as it had been recalled.
***
Forget the fuse, its a faulty hazard switch. GM service bulletin 03043A I believe is the one that covers the recall on 00s and 01s (02s and 03s had the SAME faulty part number and the SAME problem with no recall- bastards). Should get it done free at your dealer.
The problem is grease contamination of the contacts in the turn signal switch. You can go to the dealer and spend $300+ or you can fix it yourself for the cost of 3 feet of scotch tape and about 4 q-tips. You will need a Torx T-20 and T-10 screwdriver as well. I fixed mine in less than 30 minutes based on the instructions found on the web. Go to http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/sh...+switch&page=2 . Sorry if it's not an exact link but I got the directions and pictures on that site to fix mine. Good luck!!!!
Both answers, hazard switch and turn signal switch, can be correct. The hazard switch for the 2000 and 2001 Grand Am's were recalled and caused the annoying clicking. I had that done on my car and that solved the problem for 6 years. When the problem started again I put a new hazard switch in but it did not fix the problem. Cleaning out the grease which had many metal filings and replacing it with vaseline fixed the problem. It is relatively easy repair.
How many feet away to use your turn signal?
It depends on how fast you are going. I'm really not sure if some states will fine you for signalling too long if you do 151 feet or fine you for not signalling enough if you signal for 149 feet. However I do believe that the purpose of signalling is primarily to indicate to others what you intend to do before you start doing it. I would signal much earlier at 75MPH than I would at 25MPH simply because it takes more time for people to react at higher speed.
Is the bulb blown?
try a new hazard switch. the power runs through this switch, and sounds as if it is burnt. Good luck.
Flasher location on1984 mercury?
Flasher location for the 1984 merc is in the fuse panal; most likely under the dash to the right of the steering wheel coluum. It's been a while since I owned this one..
If not in that location try under the hood on right side looking toward the windshield. Usually in a rectangular black bos. Just unsnap and open. Be sure to secure the bos cover when done.
Oh, referance the actual location via your car owner manual. If lost look it up at alldata.com.

How do you replace the turn signal on 1994 park avenue?
For the rear...
Remove the plastic nuts that hold the carpet on(behind the tail lights) and then you can easily remove the bulbs
For the Front...
You have to remove 2 bolts (that have plastic heads that your can turn with your hand) and remove the entire headlight assembly on that side
Horn and left turn signal do not work are they connected somehow and can I fix the problem.?
Have you checked your fuses? Does the turn signal light up at all? If it does, you most likely need to replace a flasher.
Where is the turn signal flasher located on a 1999 sienna?
The flasher on a 99 Toyota Sienna should be beside the instrument panel fuses under the steering column. You will probably have to remove the driver's side knee bolster to get at it, which is kind of a pain.
Sounds like problem may be in the multifunction switch in steering column Probably a broken switch, flasher or relay. Check all the light circuit fuses, flashers and relays first (easy). If nothing found there, suspect the switch in the column (not so easy). A bad flasher should affect the rear signals the same as the front. The highbeams being on all the time sounds like a bad switch in the steering column to me, but I'd check both the fuse panels (under hood and on side of dashboard) for the easy stuff first.
ALSO...
I had this same problem of a fast blink and the front marker light not working. The bulb itself was fine, but I noticed corrosion and burnt plastic on the bulb itself.
I cleaned the wire contacts on the bulb, then pried carefully on the wire with a pocket knife to "bump" it up a bit for better seating contact.
It worked like a charm on both the left and right signals.
Have not had an issue again in several months now.
Why does your left blinker works but not your right its a 2006 stratus?
it sounds like you have a broken bulb in your right blinker. you can replace it yourself by looking up the make and model at a parts store to get the right type of bulb and then replace it by going from behind the bumper or finding a way to remove the light from the front
Check to make sure that the bulb is installed properly double filamented - smaller is for signals - larger for parking light Check the socket for corrosion, power and ground. Why would fuse 16 for the directional signals blow on a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis?
If this is the case, try disconnecting the ac compressor. If not that, it could be in the 'master switch' (turn signal lever unit). Does anything else go out along with the turn signals? Does it only happen when you turn on the heater or ac?
What are the sequences of the left turn arrow lights?
Left turns are either permissive (no arrow), exclusive/permissive (allowing turns on gaps in traffic after the arrow expires, usually with a five-section display) or exclusive- only (no turns after the arrow expires, three-section display).
Additional: At those intersection controlled by green turn arrows - there is no uniformity among the states as to whether the left turn arrow leads the regular light sequence or follows it. That decision is usually left to the Highway Dept. traffic engineers.
More: The choice of leading left turn or lagging (following) left turn is not usually a policy of the highway department, but is an engineering decision made separately for each intersection. Often, to achieve signal progression (lights turn green as you come to them), the choice of leading or lagging left turn is forced by the progression plan. Often, to make the progression work better on a two-way street at a particular intersection, one direction on the street has a leading left turn, but the opposite direction has a lagging left turn. This way, the cars from each direction can arrive at this intersection at different times.
The lagging left turn has a disadvantage. If left turns are permitted on a circular green, a lagging left turn in one direction causes a hazard: One direction on the street receives circular yellow, but the opposite direction remains green. A driver receiving the yellow might turn left across live traffic moving on a green, thinking they will stop. To prevent this, either the signal with a lagging left turn must prohibit left turns on circular green, or use the new flashing yellow arrows.
A flashing yellow arrow display uses a flashing yellow arrow instead of a circular green, and has a 4-section display with all arrows.
Why does one of your turn signals flash really fast on your 1998 Dodge Durango?
This could be one of 2 problems, Lets go the cheapest. Check your Bulbs. Chrysler has rolled out a system where if a signal is burnt out the working ones flash faster. Replace the bulbs and it should stop. Now if they keep happening it could be the Flasher Moduel that is a $16 relay behind the fuse panel, Stock is Green but it could be black. Replace that and the problem should be corrected.
Chrysler had nothing to do with the light flashing fast if one bulb is burnt out. It has been that way ever since the first flasher relay was installed in a car. It is just electrical 101.
Where is the flasher for a 1999 cougar?
If you take the steering column covers(right before the dashboard)off it will be on the left side right under the signal light switch. It gets plugged in towards the driver( the connector is facing the engine.
Where is the turn signal flasher located on a 1988 Ford Taurus?
The 1988 Ford Taurus turn signal flasher relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal flasher relay switch will be above the brake pedal.
Why do my offside indicators flash fast and dim?
The only thing that comes to mind at this moment is a high resistance short which causes an abnormally high current demand which causes the flasher relay to cycle faster, and simultaneously "starves" the bulb of adequate current to attain normal brightness.
How do you replace the front turn signal on a 2002 Jetta?
The headlight assembly contains all the light bulbs on one piece of plastic, but not the turn signal. In order to get to the assembly, you need to remove the battery. Also, there are 2 black plastic covers held on by 4 screws. Remove those screws (philips) and the covers. Behind the headlight assembly you will see a large black piece of plasic with two metal bands over it on each side. These are hard to get off but push them off of the pastic, they snap in place so it can be hard and noisy when they unlatch. This will let you take off the backing of the main headlight. Right beside that backing is a long, rectangular backing that has a plastic snap at the top. You may need a screwdriver or a chisel to pry this latch off, but push down on the plastic latch and pull the backing off. The top of this housing has the turn signal. Pull the entire turn signal housing with the wires just an inch or so. Use a set of pliers to unplug the wiring from the bulb housing. Once that's done, pull the bulb housing out, undo the small metal latches on the side of the bulb, and pull the bulb out. You may need a set of pliers for that. Replace the bulb, the bulb assembly, and plug in the wiring assembly. Once again, pliers may be needed for that. Replace the plastic backing and the main headlight backing. .
