Insert your door key into the keyhole on the trunk. Turn left 90 degrees, and either push in the key, or remove the key and use your finger to press the keyhole button. The trunk lid will pop open.

Remember to lock the trunk by inserting the key and turning 90 degrees to the right so the key hole opening orientation is vertical.

This system is designed to warm the air entering the carburetor when underhood temperatures are low, and to maintain a controlled air temperature into the carburetor or throttle body at all times. By allowing preheated air to enter, the amount of time the choke is on is reduced, resulting in better fuel economy and lower emissions. Engine warm-up time is also reduced. The THERMAC system is composed of the air cleaner body, a filter, sensor unit, vacuum diaphragm, damper door, associated hoses and connections. Heat radiating from the exhaust manifold is trapped by a heat stove and is ducted to the air cleaner to supply heated air to the carburetor or throttle body. A movable door in the air cleaner case snorkel allows air to be drawn in from the heat stove (cold operation). The door position is controlled by the vacuum motor, which receives intake manifold vacuum as modulated by the temperature sensor.

I do not know, but it is not unusual to your vehicle. Mine does the same. Bring your spare key outside with you and when it goes off, get out, close the door and lock & unlock it to disable the alarm. If you don't have the spare key, then remove the key from the ignition while the battery is charging and do the same procedure then you should be able to start up without issue.

Power loss can be: Engine needs a tune up Check the oil level, if empty that is bad news. Clogged fuel filter Failed in tank fuel pump (if fitted) failed external fuel pump (under car passenger side rear) If engine is hot at the time of loss suspect the ignition coil, ignition coils can start out fine but heat up and short internally. cracked or split intake air plenum between the mixture control unit and the throttle body. Sounds like a faulty switch or wiring. You may have a limit switch in the lifting/lowering mechanism, a faulty switch on your dash to control it, or a broken wire between the dash switch and the motor.

My first thought is that the wheel bearing is failing....replace it soon! The other idea is the front half shaft CV Joint is failing. ( the front wheel drive..drive shaft on the side the noise comes from)

From 1981 onward, engine oil capacity is 4.2 quarts including the filter. It's cheap insurance to change the oil filter anytime you change the engine oil. The V-dub engine works a bit harder - at higher revolutions - than does an American V-8 so it's also a good idea to change oil with the seasons. Yep, the price for a quart of motor oil has gone up a bit but not near as expensive as an engine rebuild. If you're a DIYer, dispose of your used oil in an environmentally friendly way.

Inside the thermostat housing: The t-stat housing is attached to the water pump and lower radiator hose.

Under the front seats at the end of the slide track will be a single bolt that goes side to side preventing the seat from sliding back to far. take the cover off this, remove the bolt. remove the plastic trim pieces along the trans hump. then mearly slam the seat backtowards the back seat wich will cause the seat to come free of the tracks. lift out. reverse to install.

if you cant figure out how to unbolt it you shouldn't be trying to replace it

Raise the car and support it on stands. There is an acces cover underneath where the engine bolts onto the tranaxle that makes it pretty easy.

This is a symptom of a few problems. Most likely is a fuel issue. What type of car and how consistent is the stall?

Open the trunk and pop off the black plastic cover on whichever side is missing the light. Its kind of hard to get your hands in there, but it can be done. Once it comes off, you should be able to gently tug the plate thing that all the bulb are connected to and replace the bad bulb.

The Cabriolet is what the called the Cabrio before. The Convertible is the style of the car. It just means the top comes off. Hope that answers your question.

Cabriolet is the french word for Convertible. It's my undersdtanding that post 1995, the model Cabriolet became Cabrio.

First of all, you need to remove the distributer cap, taking note of the timing mark for the number one cylender. Then you need to turn the pulley that drives the rotor to align it with the timing mark. The pulley is located on the side closest to the bumper. Next you have to remove the plug on the transmission to expose the timing mark on the flywheel. It is a clear plastic plug with a green ring around it. Then rotate the crankshaft with a socket wrench on the pulley until the timing mark is ligned up with the pointer. Then find the timing mark on the camshaft and and rotate it till its aligned with the corresponding mark. Once all the marks are ligned up, snake the belt over all the pulleys, leaving the tensioner pulley loose. Then tighten the tensioner with a piece of short wire that fits snugly in one of the holes. Then using a pair of locking pliers, grab the wire and pull till the belt is tight and tighten the nut. that should do it.

There ar FIVE bolts under the front seat. The front two are easy to get at but be sure to get BOTH that are mounted sideways at the back right corner. Now the power seat is usually all the way back when it stops working so the last bolt near the door at the back is near impossible to get out. I cut a 14mm wrench so just a bit of the handle was left and managed to get it between the plastic and the metal around the head of the bolt. It was difficult but the seat is out.

In the 87 cabriolet there are little handles at the front right and one on the front left side of the top, inside of the car. Pull down on these little handles and unfastend the hook from the little metal bar, push the top up a bit, push the little handles flat again, then proceed to lift the top and fold it back, once it is folded down, push down on the top slightly until you hear it click into a locked position....to keep it from flying up when driving. To Unlock the top from the down postion, and to be able to close it, push down slightly on the top, and hold down the little levers on each side of the back seat and the locks will release....you can do one side, then the other....two people working together makes this much easier. To close the top...reverse the proceedure. Sounds complicated but is very easy.

Sorry this won't sound very technical, but on my 97 have had to do this a couple times...all I did was flick the closing apperatis on the latch on trunk lid and then it closed. I think it got bumped and desended into itself.

Hi the cold start valve is on the left hand side of the inlet manifold and should have a blue connector on it hope this helps..veedub_m1ck

One Person: Try to unhook the top at the same time in both sides. Then from the center of the front of the top, push up and forward when needed to. Then clamp it and put on the boot if you have. To close, press the lever inside the car and pull up on the same side and leave it resting while u go to the other side and do the same. Then go inside the car, back seat, and grab from were you pushed to open but now push up and pull back when needed. Then sit in between the two front seats and close both at the same time. This is to asure that it wont get out of shape and have leaking problems in the future.

Two Person: Same procedures but just with another person. Time yourselfs and do the procedures.

What kind of question is this? If you have a drivers license you can drive any vehicle other than semi n big things like that u need a CDL 4 that
