Alarm Systems

First it depends on where the installer put it. Mine has 2 different ways of disarming. 1. the flashing lite on the dash, push and release, which will allow only the doors to be unlocked with the remote, but the alarm will be inop. This is called the valet mode. 2. there is also another button on my truck on the kick panel by the emergency brake pedal. Not entirely sure what it does, cause i dont use it.

The 2003 Ions had a problem with the ignition switch in cold weather. The oils in the switch would thicken causing the ignition to fail to make proper contact. This would trigger the anti theft system and lock you out for a few minutes.

2004 Saturn ION 2.2 L. Ecotec Auto

Motor started missing, then it died, cranked but would not run. Did not think timing chain or BCM bad. Replaced plugs would not run, replaced ignition module, would not run, replaced coil pack, would not run. It fired good to the plugs. Finaly replaced Knock sensor located behind starter. Fixed Car and it Runs Better Than Ever. Aloways diconnect Negative Battery Terminal when working with electrical parts. Starter had to be removed to replace Knocker Sensor. After Battery rehooked back up it takes awhile for PCM to fuction 100 percent.

This worked for me: open the car with the door key. Sit in and shut the door. Now operate the door lock using the lock tab on the drivers door four times very quickly ((lock then open four times). Press the close button on the fob. If the door locks again, you've done it. May well work for other cars too.

im not sure....but if this helps but i have an 85 and i think there is a moduel that is on the right passanger side under the area ware the feet go and you have to take the carpet panel out...on my car i believe its there and also the computer is there that has alot of wires going it2 it so dont unplug those or your car wont run......

The method for reseting this alarm system sounds a little goofy. But, here is how I have to reset mine: While sitting in the drivers seat, open the passenger door and leave it opened. Turn the key off and on to the accessory position five times. Open and close the driver's door three times. Shut the passenger door.

Hi put key in ignition turn on then off, Then press and hold the door locking button that is near the hand break count 12 flashes on the imobilizer led then let go of door locking button, Your imobilizer should be turned off, You can use your car.

Remove the fuse. There is no fuse for the alarm. It would have to be disconnected from under the hood. see your local Chrysler dealer.

The factory alarm is an integral part of the engine and body computers. It can not be disconnected.

- Open the box underneath the dash left side and remove the fuse

- 11/13/09: I am experiencing this problem now. I called a Hyundai Dealership Service Dept and they said to put key in ignition, turn it to the on position, wait one minute, then turn to off position and pull key out and this should resolve the problem. I have yet to test it, but will when I leave work. but at least this is something to try. !!

well first things first is it a factory alarm or other?? usually other will be hooked directly to batt or fusebox so check that first

module is bad, viper has a lifetime warranty. with a little finesse you can do, it without the original purchase reciept. phjone 1-800-753-0800, and follow the prompts.

Installing an alarm on this vehicle is not much different than any mid-90's GM auto.If you're installing a remote starter combo then you might have to learn how to by-pass the VATS system.That is the factory anti-theft device that comes on this car.

Hey - I have the same probalem with a 1988 240 I bought for my daughter. The only thing that I have found out so far is that you have to get a remote from the dealer and that cost $90.00. I will let you know if I find out anything else adn I would love it if you let me know if you find anything out.

Pull the radio/dash fuse on the left side of the dash and plug it back in

If the security light is blinking and the remote starter does not work, it will beep twice instead.

First use the panic button to set off the alarm, it will go off then stop by itself.

Next put the key in the driver door and lock and unlock twice then remove. On the controller lock and unlock the doors twice to three times, just back and forth locking and unlocking.

Next try the remote starter and it should start and its reset.

It is now back to normal.

A few things that may have gotten it to this point......someone tried to steal it, faulty remote, someone held the buttons down on the remote too long.

My son used my truck and gave it back with the alarm active, he had my keys in his back pocket and probably sat on it so the buttons were pressed and activated the alarm.

This only works with the original key, the secondary key used for valet parking will not work. Once the alarm is active only the original key will start the truck, the remote and valet key will not work either. This is not bypassable because the key, remote are connected to the vehicle computer with programming on the computer.

yes depending on what kind of alarm, if it factory then hold the high beams on while turning the ignition with a key or /screwdriver, if you wanna disable the factory alarm then unscrew the turnsignal,, remove the turnsignal,, then hold a screwdriver on the 2 connectors,, the car will flash and the alarm has been disabled,, or blown

The key that was made with the car is registered to the car chassi-number. VIN number, whatever.

On my 99 you have to put the key in the ignition and turn to accessory... then press the trunk unlock button

Close all doors,turn your key 1/4 towards ignition,press and hold the flashing red alarm light for 5 seconds and this should disarm the system.

Put in the key and start it, turn it off, and re-start it.

Find a little black button under your dash turn your key forwards and press the button this should turn it off.

If you lock the doors from the inside by using the lock button, the alarm will not sound. If you lock the doors from the outside by using either the key or the remote control, the alarm is set to active.

There is not. It's up to you to test a regular above ground pool alarm to see that it works but don't take a chance with safety. Safety Turtle (company/brand) has a product that your children or pets wear as a watch (or dog collar). When it comes into contact with water a remote alarm sounds. Use any pool alarm as part of layers of protection for your children. (BTW, they have come up with a pool light for above ground pools.)

I have exactly the same problem. been to the garage today and been told to use the re- programming sequence on your key. just cant find the sequence now! ha.

If you have a valet switch, just hold it in for a few seconds with the alarm off and release when it beeps or blinks the LED. You may be able to unhook the battery briefly to reset the alarm's status.
