Why does a 2000 chrysler voyager stall when trying to accelerate past 20 mph?
Could be a very dirty fuel filter. Could also be a damaged catalytic converter or a restricted exhaust such as a bent or crushed exhaust pipe.
Would a car stalling happen if you had a leak of some sort?
Yes, if you have a severly blown head gasket, it is letting coolant into the cylinders. If too much coolant gets in, it will cause stalling, usually only at idle speeds. i would suggest getting a compression test done and checking the head gasket, and most likely, you will need it replaced, if you cant do it yourself, it will be close to $400 for pats and labor, $350 is prabably labor. Labor sucks!
How do you fix stop your car from stalling shutting off when stopped or coasting?
Check all vacuum hoses first. If they are all attached & in good condition:
Check that the air filter is not severely clogged/ dirty.
Replacing the gas filter (s) may also stop this from happening.
My bet is on the gas filter (s) or the vacuum hoses.
Many possibilities. Have the cars computer checked for codes. The computer knows all.
Why does your car stall when its hot outside?
Could be many things, especially with modern electronics.
I could be a fuel vapour lock problem. Make sure fule lines are kept away from exhaust or that the heat shields in place.
Where is the mass air flow sensor in a 2001 Kia Optima?
it on the hose between the air filter and the engine on top of the hose , a square 1 by 1 plastic piece.
I got bad gas in car what to do?
you have to cyphin the old gas out if you have a full tank but if you have a low tank put new gas in and plush it out and then you have your third option you have to unhook you gas line to drian you gas out which i think is the safest way possibleDO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE UN TILL EMPTY AND REFEULED
Have you tried anything with fuel delivery or air intake? Also check head gasket.
Fuel filter was replaced less than a year ago. Battery is original, factory. Car ('02 Saturn SL1) has about 125,000 miles on it. Problem is intermittent and usually occurs after car has been running and is turned off and back on. One final note: The car will turn over, run, all electrical works, no dimming of headlights. Car can be driven but will stall when idling later. Quick fix seems to be simply turning the car off then back on immediately.
Why does your 1995 Saturn sl 5 speed smoke really bad?
Engine oil burning can be the result of many causes.
Where is the fuel filter located on a 1995 Eagle Talon?
1995 esi non turbo
The fuel filter is located on the driver side on the firewall. You have to remove the battery and tray. Remove the brake fluid revevoir and put it to one side. Remove the windshield water reservoir completely. You should be able to the fule filter. Careful removing the filter. The gas lines will be on tight. Use two wrenches, one to hold the filter and the other to remove the nut. This little project will take about an hour to finish. But it will save you about 70 to 90 dollars. good luck and I hope this updated answer helps someone...
AnswerLook under your battery and battery box.Of note: Some 96-98 2.0L non-turbos will have the fuel filter mounted to the fuel tank.
Answeri believe its in the gas tankYou idle air control valve is having a problem as well as carbon build up in the engine. Part store chemicals won't event make a dent in the carbon. Go to your Ford dealer. It will cost about $500.
I believe that the cam sensor is an integral part of the distributor so I am assuming that you replaced that. I am also assuming that you purchased a NEW unit and not a REBUILT unit as you aren't a mechanic and know that you would not recognize a defective part. I also assume that by "losing spark" you mean that sometimes it has spark and that at other times it does not.
You may have a poor connection at an electrical connector. Check especially at the crank sensor and at the PCM.
You may have a dirty or bent crank sensor exciter wheel tooth (part of torque converter.)
You may have installed a defective new part. This happens. Also, with electronic parts, sometimes a cheapskate with tendencies toward acts of fraud will purchase a new part and return the old broken part to the retailer (dupe) as a new part for full refund which will then be resold to another unsuspecting motorist or mechanic who just might be you.
You might have a bit of corrosion at a fuse. Try wiggling each and every fuse one at a time while one assistant turns the key to crank the engine and another assistant watches the spark tester.
1999 vw bug cuts off when engine get hot?
If your 1999 VW Bug's engine cuts off when it gets hot, you might have an issue with bad gas or with the distributor. Electrical problems will often appear at operating temperature. You could also have an issue with the oxygen sensors.
check the vaccum hose that connects the egr valve to the engine,i had the same problem every time i went to stop, slow down or let my foot off the gas it would die quickly.i replaced the egr vacuum hose line and the problem went away, also get a can of throttle body cleaner spry it in open the throttle plate ,wipe it out and spray a few more shots to make sure that it is good and clean, makes a hell of a difference..also check your breather hoses for any air leaks, one goes from side of throtlle body to pass side valve cover and the other goes from dr side valve cover to the pcv valve.a few seconds can bring the vehicle back to its old self again..
What does the red light on the dashboard of my Fiat Seicento mean Its in the shape of a handbrake?

its a electronic piece in the key push ron area in the steering collum the key rod connectes it to complete the electric curcuit circle if it cracked it will cause it to shut down and restart by itself..
I think you should sell stuff like ; Friendship braclets , bookmarks ,old toys in good condition ect.
Why would a vehicle stall unless you pump the gas pedal?
Sounds like a fuel delivery problem (possibly fuel pump) or a clogged fuel filter. Try checking the vacuum lines. I own a 92 Cadillac Seville and the exact same thing happens. It makes me want to drive it off a cliff. I thought it could be a clogged throttle body so I spent about 3 hours cleaning it and no result. If you ever figure out this problem please tell me what it was. car is starting up sometimes when has been running a while on restart 94 jetta what could be the problem? Try adjusting your idle speed. We own a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had the same thing happen. It ended up being a bad alternator, not what i was expecting but if you cant think of anything else give that a shot.
I am experiencing a similar problem with my 1999 Subaru Impreza. Generally when my car sits for a day or the temperature drops, the car will sputter upon startup until I push on the gas pedal. Sometimes it will even stall during this sputter. Basically it sounds like it has a fuel starvation problem upon startup on colder days. My check engine light finally came on and it turned out to be a problem with my Idle Air Control Valve (IACV). I took it apart and sprayed it with brake parts cleaner. I haven't had a problem since.
Why would a car stall while you are still driving and is stalling as you sit in idle?
either fuel is not being delivered to combustion chamber or ignition system cutting out eliminate one system and go to work on the system that's causing trouble
Would a bad lower intake manifold cause oil to get in the water?
A bad intake manifold or manifold gasket can cause water to leak into the oil. Some newer cars have plastic manifolds and they will crack from age.
Your car is over heating when you stop at a light but when you are driving its fine?
Make sure coolant level is correct Check to see if cooling fan is working if so equipped Check radiator cap Radiator may be clogged Air flow through radiator may be restricted Water pump not working properly? Thernmostat not opening fully
