Where is the starter motor on a Chevrolet Tacuma?
Toyota makes the Tacuma. Chevrolet makes the Tahoe. Which is it?
Where is the Starter Sellenoid Located in a 1997 Surburban?
It's right on the starter. The large battery cable and small starter solenoid wire connect there. It's part of the starter assy and not a separate part.
What could be wrong if your car will not crank or start up?
First off, won't start AND won't crank is usually electrical, dead battery, poor connections at the battery or starter, bad starter ( Do you have lights and gauges? ) then that is very much the issue. Do the lights dim when you crank, do they go out altogether, does it start to crank and slowly stop, or does it crank ever so slowly? these are all battery or battery terminal issues, check your battery and clean those terminals to clean metal, check the thick red wire going to the starter, it needs to be mounted well on the starter and not grounding out on metal along the way. Batteries can go bad and still show 12 volts, this happens a lot in winter and summer, extremes in temperature will just kill a battery in a matter of hours so have it load tested.
There is a known issue with Honda Odyssey ignition 1998-99. I think there is an open recall on them. I have a '98 and the ignition started shutting off while I was driving (which is worse than your problem, trust me) and the dealer replaced it for no charge. I would ask a local Honda dealer if the recall applies to your Odyssey. Jeff
Why is diesel fuel more expensive than regular gasoline?
because of taxes...diesel makes more polution=========
Not true....new low-sulfur and new diesel engines are cleaner and more efficient than gasoline engines.
Factors are higher demand in Europe (more than half the new cars sold in Europe are diesel), distribution (shipping refined diesel from Europe costs more, not to mention the taxes charged by the EU on that refined diesel fuel), less refineries, higher cost of refining (investing in new equipment to produce low-sulfur diesel, although less refining is technically needed), and taxes. Its safe to say 4 out of the 5 are attributed to environmentalists/Liberals.
You will have to take the ignition key lock out of the steering column, then get a dremel with a small grinder bit. looking at the lock with the key still in you will see two small tabs which come together when the key is in the start position. Take the dremel and grind half off from both tabs as so the key will turn a bit further. sometimes the key doesn't turn far enough to make a complete connection but will still light up. I had the same problem when I replaced the key lock in my 74 Super Beetle and this worked very well. Be careful not to grind off too much or you will have to buy another one. Good Luck
Check for spark
Check for fuel
While driving what would make the engine cut off and and not restart?
Fuel... either you ran out or the pump stoped working, it could also me that the alternater failed and the battery died.
What could cause starting problems in a Dodge Caravan?
The most common cause of automobile starting problems; is the battery needs to be charged. When the battery will not take a charge. It needs to be replaced.
Car won't start could that be the crank sensor?
It could, but then, it could be a lot of other things as well. Don't replace parts just hoping that you'll solve the problem.
First, run a diagnostic scan. See if the computer knows anything. If that doesn't give you anything valuable, try using a little starting fluid to see if the engine will start briefly that way.
If it has a crank sensor then it must be computer controlled, and the computer knows more about what's going on than you could, just by guessing.
Seriously, don't just throw parts at the problem, since everything you touch introduces the potential that something didn't get put back just right.
If it was running before and now it's not, you typically only have one major problem that caused the failure. Find out what that is before you throw parts at it.
Maybe try the starter or the clyinide. Hope I could help.
When you turn the key the car starts but when you let go of the key it turns off?
It depends on the type of car, but usually it's the keyswitch. Older vehicles sometimes have an ignition resistor that burns out, some have a switch that's part of the starter that can fail.
That really sounds like it is your O2 Sensor. I know for my 94 they are about 22.00 at Advanced Auto Parts. They are on your manifold behind the motor, by the firewall. Have a wire running from them! Hope this helps!

Where is your starter motor in your car?
It depends on the car as it can be located on either side of the engines in different makes. The starter motor can be found lower on the back side of the engine where the engine and transmission meet. The starter needs to engage the flywheel which is where the transmission mounts.
What would be the problem if the starter would keep turning over even when the key is off?
There are a couple possibilities:
If the starter has been replaced and the problem has just begun, check the wiring. It could be that you have crossed the wires to the starter.
If THAT'S not the case, verify that the keyswitch is releasing the starter after you let go. and last, make sure there are no damaged or crossed wires between the keyswitch and the starter.
When a car going over 70 mph starts making a humming noise what can it be?
The problem is in the tire balance.Go to your local tire shop and have the tires rebalanced.
answer more that likely is not tire balance tire balance will feel ruff at certain sppeds humming is either tire tread noise on pavement or wind noise but most likely to be tire tread only way to fix is to buy different tires or dont drive at 70 mph,lol
AnswerI don't think it's the tire balance. Humming at higher speeds sounds like a wheel bearing to me. If the sound is less when you're turning one direction, then the opposite wheel bearing is the problem. It's a cheap part and a quick fix; more painless than new tires, which always need to be replaced in pairs at least. Tire problems are way more commonly felt in the steering and suspension, and not really heard.Car will not start on 1990 corolla?
You need to provide more information in order to get an answer to your question. For instance, do the dash lights (check engine, oil, etc.) go on when you turn the key? If not, it could be a battery problem. Do you hear a click when you turn the key? If not, it could be a bad ignition switch or starter. Does the car not start at all, or does it start sometimes? Does it not start on cold starts or hot starts, or both? I've had major starting problems with my 1991 Corolla, so I can sympathize with you. Edit your question by including the specific symptoms and maybe someone will be able to help. Good luck!
How to remove a starter from a 1999 Kia Sephia?

Might be bad ignition switch?? Check the ground wire as well.
Check and clean if corroded:
The Ground strap/wire from the frame to the engine
The small ground wire from the battery to the body
The Ground wire from the battery to the engine.
the crank shaft sensor is located on the back of the engine on left side above the fly wheel. hope that helps im doing the same thing and this is a comon problem with jeeps. only about 85 bucks to replace it.
What can be wrong with a 87 Trans Am TPI 305 that dies shortly after start up?
Check the throttle position sensor. It tells the computer what the position of the throttle is. If it's loose it can cause a problem. If not loose, measure the resistance across the mid-upper pins and then the mid-lower pin. Exercise the throttle during each measurement. Not sure what you should see for a reading off the top of my head, but it will change if the sensor is working. TPS can also cause idle to raise and lower before finally shutting down the engine. Don't know if you see those symptoms or not. or try the fuel pump and or map sensor. i had the same problem on my 93 ta. it worked
Why does the Engine turns over slow and wont start when warm?
soundes like your started may be going out or you have a fuel vapor lock problem.
Can a bad starter start the car but still drain the battery over night?
Not likely. The starter would have to stay engaged to drain the battery and that you would hear loud and clear. Check for any light that is on. Dome, glove box, trunk, back-up, under hood, etc. It can also be a stuck relay. Lastly it can be a dead cell in the battery which would require the battery be replaced. If the battery is over 3 years old or has been run down a couple of times it is more than likely your problem.
Check the fuse and connection. There are some cables or something attached to the battery, so I would check the fuse, oil, gasoline, connection, anything you can think of. Otherwise go to a service center.
