lots of fun....locate the coil pack usually on the front of the motor towards the bottom.take off the coil packs and the module is underneath.under the exhaust manifold.

You must first take off the door panel, by removing all door panel screws. Then you have to remove the two lower bolts that hold the window in and remove the window. Then you must drill out the rivets that are holding the power window motor in place, unplug it and remove it through one of the holes in the door ( remove the plastic covering) For re installation it is a bit tricky, have to transfer a couple parts onto the new unit with screws or rivets, and putting the window motor in, you need big rivets or possibly short bolts but they are hard to get in. Then plug it back in and put the window back in, and do up the two bolts that hold the window on. Good luck.

That seems suspiciously as though the clutch is not disengaging. Perhaps a problem with the hydraulic clutch or possibly a damaged clutch plate that is causing the pressure plate to turn even when the clutch is supposedly disengaged. It is also possible that the pilot bearing has siezed.

It may be due to a bad alternator. If the alternator has a bad diode it will draw battery power when the car is off. Another possible draw is the trunk light. The trunk light works with a sensor that is mounted to the curved bar on the left side (drivers side) of the trunk. This sensor sometimes slides out of adjustment and keeps the trunk light on when the trunk is closed.

Open the rear door and lock in the open position; next,from the inside of the door jamb remove two screws, one top and one bottom from the modular light assy (don't let the bottom one fall into the hole of no return!); on the light assy. remove two 1/4" screws to gain access to the three bulbs; voila!

The abs system will activate when certain perameters are met within either the vehicles pcm or abs module. The noise is the abs motor actuating your brakes. If never experienced it can be pretty unerving but is normal. there could be some "teeth" missing on the wheel sensor, which causes flat spots in the analog signal, these are the same condtions as when the wheel locks up

Traction control. Take the car to the dealer and have them fix it. There may be a technical bulletin for this problem-ask them about it. It could be parking brake not compleatly released....or...Wheel sensor,most likely one on the rear.Get one and just plug it up,see if the lignt goes off.If it does then go through the process of swapping it out.Same thing happened to me.

You need to check the oners manual to be sure, but I think that since you have a V-tech engine they don't need to be changed. This is what i saw on the dealers maintenance schedule.

Actually, the plugs should be replaced at 105,000 miles according to the owner's manual and the dealer.

7/2009 : it took me around 1 hour to change all 6 plugs - it's not that bad. Get yourself a good socket wrench (I used a T shaped spring handle from pet-boys). GENTLY unplug the coil wires - do not pull on them. Use an allens wrench to take off the coil bolt. Remove the 6" coil. The spark plugs are deep down inside. I always put some anti-seize lubicant on the plugs. The owners manaul show ssmall diagram how to do it! I used NGK "id-rid-ium" plugs - Ike $6 each at pep-boys. The dealer wants $225 to do the work.

To remove the door panel on a cavalier there are four screws on the under side and the back of the bottem lip. Remove those screws then there are 2 screw in the door handle. Remove those. remove the triangle piece of plastic where the mirror controls are then give it a little tug and the door panel should pop loose then lift up and walk away with it. If you have crank windows then you have to remove the crank lever and if you have electric locks the you have a clip you have to un do that powers the switch.

2.2L Altenator on a 2.2L, AND, 2.4L on a 2.4L ONLY!

First check the fuse. Second check the switch. Same goes with power windows. A weak motor will melt a switch. If that fails ,connect a 12v power supply strait to the door in question.
