This question would be easier to answer if you were to specify the make, model, and engine size of the vehicle.

That aside, typically if you rotate the engine to cylinder 1 TDC on the compression stroke the distributor rotor will be pointed at the contact for cylinder #1. Many vehicles have a mark on the harmonic damper/balancer to indicate the location of cylinder 1 TDC. Note that this could be either TDC on the compression stroke or on the exhaust stroke so you might actually have the distributor rotor pointed exactly opposite from #1.

If you don't have an easy to see mark, there are other ways to find #1 TDC. One method that works on some engines is to insert a long thin screwdriver through the spark plug hole and feel the screwdriver come up as far as it will come up while cranking the engine over slowly with a wrench. Again, this does not differentiate between Compression and Exhaust strokes so you might have your rotor pointed exactly backwards. Also, if you feel any binding as you turn the engine over, immediately turn the engine backwards to avoid possible damage to engine valves.

If your engine is a DOHC engine, you may be able to shine a flashlight in through the spark plug hole and watch the piston come up as you crank the engine over.

Whenever you are cranking the engine over mechanically (as with a wrench) you must be very careful to first disable the ignition system and/or disconnect the battery to prevent the engine starting which could injure you.

The Tail light assembly needs to come off. There are 2 10mm nuts accessable though the two door panels at the rear of the trunk. once those are released, the tail light comes straight out with three guide pins disengaging from sockets in the body. You will then have full access to both stop lights and the turn signal light (2057 type)

I quess is that the spring plunger that is behind your horn button is defective. Remove the steering wheel to replace it.

go to your local auto parts store and purchase an Easy Out or Screw Extractor. There are atleast 2 different kinds. I like the threaded ones that drill themselves into the screw as you turn.

Just remove the console and you can get to it.

The shop you took it to may not have balanced them properly. Also could be the wheels are not torqued correctly. Be sure to watch next time.

That knob is to control your heaters. Turn it left to let in more warm air, and turn it right to turn it off.

Start by putting the doors back and adjust them to get the gap between the back edge of the door and the front of the rear quarter panel close and even from top to bottom with the upper surface of the doorlevel with the upper surface of the front of the rear quarter panel, then put the hood back on and get the gap between the back of the hood and the front of the cowl even all the way across, making sure the center ridge in the hood is right dead in the middle of the car and parallel to the center line of the car, then fit the fenders on so that the back edge is flush with the front of the door and the gap between them is even all the way down and have the gap between fender and the hood even. Nothing to it.

under the knob, there should be a locking nut on the shift rod. Loosen this and the knob should just unscrew

Use compressed air with a shop towel as a cushion to blow the piston out. Inspect for pits and excessive corrosion, replace components if needed. Remove the brake bleeder and clean the port so fluid will pass through when bleeding the brakes. Remove the dust boot and seal. Use emery paper or a hone to clean the bore and piston. Clean thoroughly with brake cleaner and dry with compressed air. Install the new seal and coat it with brake fluid. Install the dust boot and piston (this part takes some practice) and re-install on car. Bleed system and check for leaks prior to test driving.

Vette questions are best answered at corvetteforum.com.. free to sign up for... but this might help.. on a 1977 vette the radio fuse is for radio, automatic transmission down-shift switch and rear defogger.. and it is a 20amp AGC fuse

43.5 psi would be nominal. You can go as low as 38 psi and still remain within the ballpark. I run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator running close to 50 psi with stock 24 lb/hr injectors. I am not suggesting you do this using the stock ECM though. I am using MegaSquirt II version 3 for fuel management so I can handle the increased fuel delivery. Shoot for 40-44 psi with the stock ECM. Hope this helps!

95 % of the time the nylon cord that moves the antenna up and down gets stripped. The power antenna motor is going to cost about $200.00. The antenna mast is about $40.00 which comes as part of the nylon cord. The motor that drives the antenna must bestill working. The procedure to fix takes about 15 minutes. Remove the nut that secures the antenna and slowly pull the antenna out od the socket. Take the new antenna with the nylon leadand feed it into the socket hole. You can then secure the antenna in place with the holding nut.

your car uses the same fuse for the turn signals and the back up lamps, so if your turn signals work its not the fuse. You should check the bulbs first as this is the easiest fix. If the bulbs are good, then it is the back up light switch in the transmission. The part will cost you about $16 if it is a manual or about $35 if it is automatic. The part is very simple to change. It can be reached from the driver side wheel well when the wheels are turned all the way to the right. When you look in between the wheel and the fender, you will see it above the trans-axle.
