The symbol is for the cathalitic converter (petrol engines) or for the particulate filter (diesel engine), they have to be checked or replaced. Generally, this symbol means the depolution device, in any car.

I had the same problem on my 2002 Trailblazer back in summer of 2004. I noticed that my light wasn't lit up either. I took it in to the dealer and was told that my four wheel drive hadn't been working probably since the day I purchased the car (new). This alarmed me since I had just returned from a trip out Westdriving the car to the top of Pike's Peak with out four wheel drive. GM covered the cost of the repair.

to what you have discribed it sounds like it is the "loss of coolent" light. top your water up and if i keeps happening then it may be a couple of things.

The warning light is in relation to worn brake pads and/or discs. Have just experienced the light on a works van. Strangly the same day that the pads and discs were changed.

Knock sensor needs to be replace

The symptoms you describe suggest more than just a "blown" fuse. The first step you need to take is to have a "qualified" [NOT a"shade tree" amateur] automotive electronics technician "troubleshoot" your electrical system in order to first identify the problem[s]. Once all defeciencies have been identified, decisions can be made regarding the proper way to correct the cause[s].

Undo the 2 screws on the plastic cover around the dash. Remove it and you will see 3 more screws. Pull the clocks to the side and you will see the all the little bulbs.

If this is the electronic Cluster. Take 4 or 5 screws off the cluster cowling on the top of the cluster area. On the back of the cluster is light holders that twist in. If memory serves me you need 2-194 lamps use long life preferable.

under the hood in the power dist box it will be the first big fuse (red) at the firewall closest to the fender

1. First you have to remove the 8 screws to remover the cluster cover.

2. Remove the clear plastic lens.

3. Remove the cluster metal panel.

4. Remover the gauge screws.

5. Disconnect the speed odometer cable from the behind the cluster.

6. Remove the gauges.

7. Remove the 2 nuts but the check engine light and seat belt light.

8. remove the cluster housing.

9. replace the bulb.

you can use the end of a 1/2" socket extension to pull the bulb without removing the cluster housing. Bulb fits perfect and wiggle the bulb out.

I found this on my Focus. Also my radio went off, the clock went off, the central locking went off, and the "bleep" warning noise (which sounds when you have your headlamps on and the driver door open) sounded. My car even began to slow down when driving. Its now in the garage getting fixed. They said it was the alternator needing to be replaced - they managed to replicate the problem this time. There are quite a few of light bulbs on the instrument panel. You get to them from the back of the panel. Some instrument panels can be disconnected and pulled forward enough to get to the back, other panels have to be worked on "in place".

From what I know (doing my own troubleshooting). It means you need to take it in to get your brake pads replaced.

After you inflate the low tire(s) to the proper pressure, the light should reset itself after driving for a few minutes at at least 20 miles an hour.

It means that you need to take your car to service inspection.

I don't think the 96 Caravan has a cable. It has an electronic sensor but others said replaceing the sensor doesn't solve the problem.

There is one circumstance that involves a fuse for BOTH speedometer and heater - a blown #10 fuse.

This is also a very common symptom of a known defect on the Windstar involving a leaking brake sensor.

There is a fault with your Anti lock braking system, if you hit the brakes hard the wheels will skid rather than automatically cut in and out. Its worth getting to the garage ASAP as its a very important crash prevention mechanism.

The dealer has to program it.

1. Insert key into ignition, switch to position "1".

2. Press buttons or repeatedly until the mileage is displayed within the Multifunction display.

3. Press reset button 3 times in short succession. The battery voltage will be displayed and an audible signal will sound.

4. Turn key in ignition to position "2"

5. Press the up / down buttons until the service menu appears.

6. Press reset button once. The Oil Type menu is displayed.

7. Use the +/- buttons to select the oil used for the service.

8. Press the up / down buttons to confirm. The display will show: "Reset Oil Confirmation. Push R-Button for 3 seconds".

9. Press and hold the cluster illumination button (1) for 3 seconds. The message "Service confirmed" is displayed.

the S means sport mode there is a button on top of the automatic gear shift if pressed while driving it will make the car drop a gear and go in to sports mode it is designed for over taking if left on the car will eat more fuel in sports mode click button on top of gear shift to turn on which will make that S appear on the dash click again to turn off and light on the dash will go out

If the speedometer is not working it probably needs a new speedometer cable.

If the speedometer is actually broken either take it to as speedometer repair shop or replace it.

The local dealer here (Tucson) charges $43.00 for this procedure. The van requires this at 60,000, 90,000 & 120,000 miles for a total cost of $129.00... not including your time and travel.
