What would case the fuel gauge on a 1995 Honda Civic to act erratic?

Maybe bad sending unitBad/Damaged fuel sending unit. Bad/damaged wiring.

Locate the wires of the fuel sending unit at the fuel tank and unplug them, see if that makes the fuel gauge to be stable (may be up all the way of down all the way, but must stop moving).

If the gauge still acts erratic chances are your wiring is wring of finally (but not common) the guague itself on the dash it's damaged.

Horn on 1994 E-150 ford van won't honk what steps should I take to fix it?

check your fuses for power, then check your horn for ground, have someone push on the horn and check for power if still not working check horn pad if worn out in column

While the above is good general information, the 2 1994 Ford E-150's that I've had experience with have both experienced "clockspring" failures. All of the electrical devices on the steering wheel go through the clockspring, so a failed clockspring can take out any or all of the horn, cruise control, or airbag. If your clockspring is indeed failed, the fix is to replace it.

How do you remove the plastic impeller blade assembly from the drive shaft on the heater blower?

There is a pressure clip on the end of the shaft. I used a side cutters to cut the clip. When you put it back together you will need to put a new clip on. I bought one at the local hardware.

Is Lexicon used as a substitute for plate glass?

I love it. I can flip the blade backwards on my table saw and cut the lexicon with my saw. (use a finish style blade though). It keeps cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It a wonderful product and is highly under used in the industry, probably because it is so expensive.

How do I repair a floppy armrest on a Ford van?

Don't know if I can be much help.. but I have a 96' Chateau with four captains chairs... The left arm rest of the passenger seat was shot, basically went down about 4-5" farther than it should..... I took off the arm rest and found that the support for the armrest was actually broken with a huge gap of about 3/4 of an inch.. I took a floor jack handle and used it as a pry bar to shift it back into place.. The inside portion of the armrest was pretty well worn, so I went to my local tru-value hardware and bought a round shim to place over the post. this worked great for the first few weeks until someone put REAL pressure on it and it broke again... To make a long story short.... I ended up switching out the passenger seat with the rear driver side seat... That way...it's like new and the broken arm rest is in back now and will hardly be used...if ever.. on that side! Best of luck!

How do you repair power windows?

First check fuse. Then check switch by test light with power on this will mean if there is power to the swtch if not check wiring. if there is power in the wire. then replace switch. Then check wires. By volt meter. If wire damage repair or re place wire.

A common problem with a Lincoln Towne Car is the gear inside the power window motor fails. The sound that it normally makes when this problem exists is "Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, etc." when the switch is used in both directions. The gear will need to be replaced.

Check the wire harness for cracks in between the door opening, with time it brakes from closing/opening doors

Pour rubbing alcohol on the switch. It cleans the shumtz out and sometimes works.

Nervous about using rubbing alcohol? Try some contact cleaner (check Radio Shack). It won't fog styrene plastics like alcohol will.

With the key -off- (no power), spray the cleaner into the switch (careful of splashing in the eyes) and work the switch a bunch of times.

For the shade tree mechanic there is a heat sensitive circuit breaker in the motor that fails more often than the motor. Jump it out and put an external self resetting 10a breaker in the motor line

A method that somtimes works when you have a bad conecction is slamming the door. It is useful for when you need to close the window eg so people cannot break into your car. Not exactly a long term solution though.

Your 91 geo metro it is using oil and smokes has had a tune up and valve job what else could it be?

If it has high mileage it may be pushing oil past the piston rings. When a valve job is done to a high mileage motor it tends to worsen a oil consumption problem because it seals the top end of the motor but the bottom end(rings, pistons) cannot hold the extra pressure caused by the now more efficient top end.The tune-up has no bearing on this problem. I would use no less then a 10w40 (preferably 20w50) oil with a can of STP.This will help you to get by.

How do you install new blower motor for 2002 e350 ford van?

For the front blower ( mine also has rear), you remove battery and battery tray, pull off wiper filler hose at bottom, loosen AC component from drivers sine fender - the black cylinder about 4" diameter ( 3 screws). Then unscrew fan from housing and gently work in towards you, the reason you had to loosen AC component's bolts is that it has to be pulled to you about 1/2 inch... do not pull to hard, you can damage the AC! The fan has one flat side ( on it's face) I had to make that side face AC to get it out, it's tight, but it will come out. When I installed new motor, I removed old fan and put it on the new motor.... and I also removed the sticky rubber that seals air out and put it on new fan... just pull it off slowly

Where is the Oxygen sensor location 5.4 lter ford?

Oxygen Sensor There are actually (4) O2 sensors on your truck. If you look inside the wheel wells behind the fender liner, right about where the frame is one O2 sensor, the other is underneath the truck about half way back in relation to the transmission. If you see where the exhaust joints together, you went about 6" too far.

When you start looking at the O2 sensors, they are normally numbered something like "Bank 1 Sensor 1" Bank 1 is on the passenger side; Bank 2 is on the driver's side. Sensor 1 is the upstream sensor (near the frame, between the block and the cat) and Sensor 2 is near the Y-pipe (downstream of the cat).

Normally it is the upstream sensors (sensor 1) that go first. They see the harshest conditions. You will need; Oxygen Sensor Socket Anti-Seized Penetrating Oil Sometimes it will take 15 minutes or take a few hours it depends on your luck…
