What may cause a clicking noise from the engine of a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo with a 130K miles on it?
Hey Michelle==My son had a rodeo and the lifters which are incorperated in the rocker arms would make noise every so often. He would get some GUNK engine flush and follow directions and it would stay gone for another good while. He changed his oil every 3000 miles. And changed the timing belt every 60,000 miles He sold it with 225000 miles and had no major engine repairs. Goodluck Joe

Where is the temperature control cable located in a nintyseven ford escort?
Behind kick pannel alongside gas pedal. Remove push pins by prying up center head of pin and the pin will come out. The back of the pannel has a plastic finger that just seems to sit behind a sheet metal capture point. Dont pry that out or you will break off hte finger. How you get hte cable loose is a mystery to me. All I see so far is pull down on the "tab" and the cable will be released. I see no tabs and cable enters a plastic shroud around damper operator. Let me know if you get it loose please.

How to line up timing marks when changing timing belt on Ford Laser tx3 turbo 4WD dohc 1987 model?
The 2 cam cogs have 'I' and 'E' stamped on them. To set the cam timing, the left cog has the 'I' lined up with the pointer on the back plate. The right cog has the 'E' lined up with the pointer on the back plate. The crankshaft cog has a timing mark that lines up with a pointer on the back plate. Make sure when you turn the crankshaft to set it up that it will not hit any valves . (plugs out, GENTLY)
Mark the belt if it is to be re-used to make sure it is in the same rotation when fitted. Don't put any pressure on the tensioner other than the spring tension.
If the belt deflection measured between the two cam cogs is not 8.5 mm to 11.5 mm at about 22lb pressure, then replace the spring.
Rotate the crank through 2 revolutions and check timing.
What would cause a 1997 Ford Escort to run rough when idling?
The most common cause of rough idling would be a bad or clogged fuel injector. Also look for the hose on your EGR valve. They tend to come off in hot weather. If the hose comes off the engine will definitely run rough. I had to put a small hose clamp on mine to keep it from comming off.

When airbag light comes on is the bag supposed to be deployed?
No. It means there is something wrong with it and that it will NOT deploy in an accident. There is no way it will deploy with the air bag light on, when I say deploy I mean it won't go off accidentally.

It is suppose to just pull out. It is like a plug with an O ring about 5 mm below the ridge that sits on top of the engine, and the "plug body" is about an inch deep. I have a manual transmission. I went to a junk yard and took out an intact speedometer. It came out somewhat easily by yanking on it. When I tried it on my speedometer (only one of the tabs broken) I needed to remove the cable, electrical sensor, bolt (of course) and the tab. Then I had to pull like crazy, pry it with a screwdriver (doesn't affect the seal), and wiggle it a lot. I found it went in and out easier after CAREFULLY cleaning around and in the fill hole (btw that is where you fill your transmission fluid in a manual) and I aligned the flat part opposite of the bolt hole. i suspect it doesn't matter what way you align it, but that is what worked for me.

sounds as if your drain hose is blocked. I had a similar problem many years ago when the heater of my Renault 16 got full of rainwater. Every time I turned a corner it sounded like a washing machine as the fan thrashed the water about in the heater inlet duct. I solved it by poking a piece of wire up through the drain hose (you would have to locate it on your particular car, of course). A load of water came gushing out and it never did it again. (A free mend is always good news!) Good luck That is the answer. I had the exact problem on the exact same model--to find the plug, open the hood and look on the back "wall" of the engine compartment--a little to the left--it is down behind the shiny silver insulation--there is a small flap that you can lift--then poke in there to pull the plug out and let it drain out. it is a cinch.
