Check your alternator/drive belt. If it looks worn, change it out. Make sure to get the tension right on it as well. If it looks alright, check to make sure it's tight and not slipping. This is just one possibility, it could be something else, but it's a good place to start.
Anwer. If I am understanding your question correctly, yes you can but to get to the one rocker you have to get to it by removing the dual cams together. It is connected in a cradle like assembly connected to two cam gears(one for intake and one for exhaust). At this time would be a great idea to do a timing belt change that way it will be something less to worry about down the line.
What is the ignition timing spec for a 1992 Chevy K1500 Blazer with 5.7 liter engine?

Is there a fuse that can knock out the alternator on a 1990 Prelude SI Where is it?
Actually, Honda Preludes are one of the few cars that have alternator fuses. It's either in the fuse compartment under the hood or by your left knee when you're in the driver's seat. Mine blew last year and i replaced the whole alternator only to find out all I needed was a fuse. Good luck!

Where is the fuel pump located on 1990 Honda Prelude?
Right around 1990, lots of auto manufacturers came up with a nasty little trick with the fuel pump- sticking it in the gas tank. I junked an otherwise keepable 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup for just that reason. If that's where Honda also put it, count on draining and dismounting the fuel tank to access the fuel pump. Most people just pull the gas tank and replace it with a new one mounted with a new fuel pump, rather than try to fix or replace just the pump.(Getting a fuel-proof seal when replacing just the pump can be tricky). Evil people, car designers. I believe the fuel pump is in the fuel tank, and it also tied to your fuel guage sending unit and there is a filter sock on the pick up tube. You will have to remove to fuel tank to replace that all-in-one unit OK... the fuel pump is indeed in the tank. HOWEVER... Unlike Domestic manufacturers, Honda has put some access panels in that allow you to do the job without dropping the tank! They are between the trunk and the back seat. Careful investigation will find two metal access panels that are simply glued to to the body with black windshield adhesive. Pry open the covers to reveal both the sending unit access as well as the fuel pump/pickup access. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which is which, but my instinct is that the one with the fuel lines going to it will be the one for your pump. Good luck! *This is correct from my experience.open the trunk, pull back the fabric, remove the cardboard deck, and you will see the two sealed panels. I believe the fuel pump is under the one on the left side

Why is my 1999 vw polo 1.4cl cutting out while driving?
We have recently had this problem fixedon our 1999 1.4 Polo. Its my wife car and the car would drive fine for 95% of the time but when she slowed down at a junction or traffic lights it would suddenly cut out. It would restart immediately and continue to drive ok. Some days it wouldn't cut out at all and some days it would cut of 5 times.
We took it to a garage and they found 2 pipes blocked. Since the pipes where changed it has not cut out at all, however it idles very high, about 1500 revs, so they have got to have another look.
Good Luck
Dave
I had this same problem before with my Ibiza (same car different name). Is it when you clutch & break at the same time? Be careful clutching & breaking going around corners because you loose the power steering too. I never got mine fixed but I think its the airflow meter. One friend has the problem & diagnostics told her nothing. Another payed 800 to get it fixed. Common problem.

got my polo 1.4 l fix for £35 same problem working like a new car , my polo is 11 years old hope this helps .

What kind of motor does a Honda Prelude have?

How much to replace a 2002 Saturn head gasket?
this question can vary with repair shop pricing, the prices i will list here are average markup/labor dollars. looks like autozone has the entire head gasket kit for about 220. most repair shops have accounts with venders, they can probably get this set for around 160-180. they usually charge the customer double what they get it for so figure 320$ on the highside for the head gasket kit. according to the Mitchell Labor Guide (The bible of a repair shop) the time alloted to the mechanic is 10.8 hours. If the vehicle is equipped with A/C, add an additional 1.1 hours. so you are looking at 11.9 labor hours. average labor dollar per hour is around $75. sor your labor will run you $892 on top of your gasket set. figure your at just over 1200. now add Engine oil and Coolant, most places will include this, but don't count on it. Now there are things to think about while doing a head gasket on a Saturn. are you close to 100K miles? or will you be in the next year or two? Saturn timing chains should be done at around 100k. the book or service manual doesnt mention this, but ask anyone who works on saturns... they will all tell you this needs to be done if you plan on keeping your vehicle running for the time you own it. The repair shop will probably try and talk you into replacing it..... it has to come off in order to do the head gasket anyways.
How do you sync carbohydrates on a 85 prelude?
Carburetor
Synchronization Inspection/Adjustment
1. Remove the air cleaner cover and element.
2. Remove the air intake screens and air intake flanges.
3. (SPECIAL TOOL)Install the synchronization adapters and torque the nuts to 5 N m (0 5 kg-m, 3 6 Ib-ft)
4. Connect a tachometer, start the engine and allow it to reach its normal operating temperature; the cooling fan will come on.
5. Measure the air flow through both adapters using the carburetor synchronizer.
- If the flow rates are identical, remove the synchronizer, adapters and reinstall the remaining parts in the reverse order of disassembly.
- If the air flow rates are different, loosen the adjusting screw lock nut on the carb linkage and adjust as necessary.
The adjusting screw only affects the right carburetor; turning the screw clockwise decreases air flow and counterclockwise increases air flow.
If the flow rates can't be balanced, check for air leaks or carbon build-up on throttle valve.
6. Tighten the adjusting screw lock nut and recheck the flow rates. Adjust as necessary.
7. Remove the carburetor synchronizer, adapters, and reinstall the remaining parts in the reverse order of disassembly.
How do you find the specifications for a 1987 Honda Prelude 2.0 SI dual carburetors?
the SI is not carborated it is fuel injected.
its a 96 caprice already changed the thermostate fans are working
Do you have an obvious leak, making the engine short of coolant? If no obvious leaks, the first place to look is the thermostat, these frequently fail shut,so restricting the coolant flow. You don't say what sort of car it is,or if this happens only in traffic (radiator fan not running) or just driving along, thermostat, blocked radiator, cylinder head gasket. Modern cars must have good quality antifreeze mixed to recommendation for good cooling and anti-corrosion.
try : bardahl oil called (no smoke) found in walmart, kmart ,and your local parts stores or google it
yes it works to a point, doesnt fix your engines problem ,but does stop or lower the smoking factor
