Where is the number 2 O2 sensor on a 2000 Tracker?
In '97 it's located in the exhaust pipe right near the Cat Conv, I just saw it last week when mine was in the air. Could it still be in the same place or near there in 2000? It's worth a look. If you can't get your' up on a lift, just try and find a curb and drive so the car is part on the road and part on the curb side and then you've got lots of space to climb under. Hope your search is fruitful.
Can a blocked catalytic converter keep a engine from starting?
Yes a blocked exhaust will keep the engine from starting
What happens when an air temp sensor goes bad?
A faulty intake air temperature sensor can cause a number of issues in a vehicle. Among these problems are taking longer to start on cold mornings and increased consumption of fuel.
What to check code P0420 says catalyst efficiency below threshold bank1?
The PCM copares switch rates between the front O2 sensors and the downstream catalyst moniters. The catylist moniters are often mistaken as O2 sensors, and they are, but that is not their job, or what they are called. By comparing the switch rates between the front (before cat) and rear (downstream of cat) the PCM knows if the cat is affecting the exaust, and how much it is affecting the exaust. If it sees little or no effect o the exaust gases that have passed through the cat, then it decides that the cat is not working anymore, ad sets a P0420, or a P0430, depending on which bank it is. To check this yourself, you will need to bring up data stream on your scanner, watch the upstream and downstream O2 parameters and see if they are following each other closely. If the cat is working right, you should see a fairly rapid switch rate, probably 5 or 6 times a minute on the front O2, but almost a flat line just above .5 volts on the rear. If the rear is switching often you proabably need a catalytic converter.
check for damaged parts loose connections oxygen sensors and catalyst convertor
If everything looks intact and that is your only code, you probably have a failing catalytic converter.
Can you use motion sensors for speakers?
Yes you can. here is how. you take of the back of the speaker if possible. look at the circut board. there should be two red wires in the middle and a black wire in the right hand upper corner. you now need to detach these wire. the circut board of the motion sensor looks the same attach the wires of booth systems to their match. put the back on both devices, and set the motion detecter on top of the speaker. walk past the detecter or wave your hand in it and it will signal the speakers to turn on. the speakers will then signal the radio to turn on and to turn it off do it maually.
How many oxygen sensors are in a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?
There are two(2) oxygen sensors on a GT-S. One sensor pre-cat and on post-cat
There are a number of things that could be causing the P0420 catalyst efficiency code. The most common thing is the catalytic converter is no longer working. The other thing is the rear oxygen sensor is no longer working properly or there is a leak in the exhaust system.
Where is the O2 sensor locate at on a 1999 Honda civic SI?
Os sensors are always in the exhaust. Look either in the exhaust manifold or right after the exhaust manifold. HTH
We have a 1989 Chevy g30 Van Need to know the easiest way take the engine out?
easiest way is to send it to a mechanic shop
Where in the check engine sensor located on the engine?
Where is the oxygen sensor located in an 89 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra?
v-6 located between the center firewall and on the top rear of engine. has one wire connector on it. In the exhaust header between the engine and the radiator. Couldn't be easier to find and work on.
Oxygen sensor location for 1999 Plymouth Voyager bank 1 sensor 1 needed?
There are two oxygen sensors one is called the upstream oxygen sensor located in the exhaust manifold and one downstream directly behind the catalytic converter. I think the one you are looking for is mounted in the exhaust manifold sometimes referred to as bank 1 and sensor 1 being the first in the exhaust system. Hope this helps you.
Can you bypass the oxygen sensor on a 1995 Dodge Ram Truck and if so how?
Yes. I just unplugged the 02 sensor and car runs fine , not dumping excess fuel , I also removed the front and rear plug-ins at the throttle body , will know more about the mpg after the tank has been used . I'm trying to get my van ready for an HHO system and I was told by them that the fuel economy will be between 20 and 40 percent because the 02 sensor will make the mixture run "rich" when the hydrogen is burned , ATM the 02 sensor is unplugged and only the check engine light is on , if this does not make the computer "run continuously lean" My next step will be to isolate the return voltage wire from the 02 sensor in the harness and run a hot lead from the battery and then regulating that voltage with a resistor to around 3.5v . Will update as events permit
Which sensor is bank 1 sensor 3 on 2000 Chevy s10 with 4.3?
That should be the sensor located after the catalytic converter.
How do you remove a rusted bolt?
There are four simple steps to try initially:
1) Clean up the seized fastener... use a combination of degreasers, detergents, abrasives and wire brushes. This sets things up for the next step...
2) Search for the term "penetrating lubricant". These are specially formulated to squeeze into the small spaces in fastener threads. Use the lubricant liberally. Use wire brushes to work it in, further cleansing the area.
3) Try to rock the fastener in both directions... particularly effective if it starts to come undone then jams. Add more lube as you go... it should rock a little further each time until it frees up. if not...
4) If seized absolutely solid try a freeze and release spray... very effective and much safer than heat around delicate electrics, heater hoses, brake lines etc.
Where is the oxygen sensor for 1996 Nissan xe pickup located?
its screwed into the exhaust manifold. On the driver side below the spark plugs closest to the firewall .
Yes, a mass air flow sensor is probably the number 1 cause of the check engine light in your car, as long as the engine is not running rough. But a couple other poss. are coil/spark plug wires (if the engine feels like it is running rough) front or rear oxygen sensors Evap leaks (gas cap not on tight) But besides that, that is about it for check engine light issues on your car, if you get me the code I can tell you exactally what to replace.
Where is the bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor on a 2000 Ford Expedition?
Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine in your Ford Expedition
Sensor 1 is in the exhaust BEFORE it enters the catalytic converter ( upstream )
P0420 is a code involving O2 readings being off specs. It doesn't always signal a bad cat. Can be a bad O2 sensor. P0420 is bank 1, meaning up front sensor. Sometimes the sensors go bad due to not tuning the vehicle up and keeping things running smoothly. A misfire/bad plug/bad wire can result in poor fuel economy, poor engine performance and over time clog the O2 sensor(s). With the relative young age of your vehicle, I'd suspect the upstream O2 sensor. Converter don't go bad too easily and are very expensive.
Are Oxygen sensors and knock sensors different?
Yes. The oxygen sensor measure oxygen level in the exhaust. A knock sensor measure vibration in the engine to detect spark knock. However, modern engines use sensors dedicated to sensing oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust gas. These are often referred to as "Nox sensors". This is probably where the confusion arises.
What is oxygen depleting substances?
An oxygen depleting substance is any material which consumes oxygen in the mixture which it occurs. In water pollution this is usually an organic material.
You can jump the starter directly to see if it turns, but most of the time it is the solinoid that has gone bad and you usually have to buy a new starter anyway since they come together. First you need to get some jumper cables and connect the positive from the battery to the positive connection on the back of the starter, it will be easy to find because its the one fat wire going from the solinoid on top of the starter to the actual motor. Second, turn the ignition and if the car starter spins and the car starts up then you know you need a new starter. There is two maybe three bolts that connect your starter. First detach batter cables, then the cables to the solinoid, then unbolt the starter and bolt the new one right up and re-attach all the cables begining with the starter.
