How to fix Ticking sound constant only stops when signal lights are used for 1996 Ford Contour?
welcome to hell!!! its an easy fix, the quick cheap way is to replace the signal relay in the steering colum, a more expensive fix, and prob the one you will need to do is to replace the signal swtich intirely. I had it fixed (after triing to replace the relays) by the mechanic, and its been sweet blissfully silent since.
Why won't my turn signals work on a 1996 Chevy Blazer but the hazards will?
bad bulbs(most likely), or turn signal flasher...not sure if there are two flashers on this one, so read up... a manual will help with diagnosis and repair, and a shop manual should be available at the local library in the reference section for FREE, make copies of the right pages, good luck...:)
The flasher for the turn signal and hazzard lights is internal to the hazzard light push button. A very bad design choice, because the entire dash bezel needs removed to remove the switch. But that is only 6 screws and a couple of clips.
Before buying the dealer only part. Take the switch out and give it a tap on a solid surface. That fixed mine. 10 minutes of work and it was fixed.
I have been without my right turn signal unless I flop it with my hand... I have surfed the net and noticed a ton of similar problems requiring the entire multi swith turn signal. I am thinking we should all try for a recall of some sort. My car should not have this problem. It is a 2000 Chevy impala and in great shape with 94,000 miles.

You need to pull the steering wheel, but to do that you'll need to remove the air bag. If you haven't been trained in handling air bags, don't touch them. They're dangerous and you WILL be injured or killed if you make even a slight mistake. Take it to a shop.

How do you install a brake light switch for a 1998 Chevy lumina 3100?
remove panel under drivers dash follow the brake pedal whre it goes up under dash. you will see a switch that contacts the brake pedal arm about 6 or 7 inches up from pedal. unplug the wire connector and just pull switch out it does not screw out it will click as you pull it because a spring tab holds the switch by the threads in the switch. once removed you will notice a button on the end of switch when no pressure is on the switch the switch is in closed circuit position and means power is going to rear brake lights put new switch on connector before mounting it do the stop lights work? yes put the switch back in and adjust as need by changing how deep the switch is in its mount.. no lights check for power on connector no power check fuses than check turn signal switch by wiggling it around while some looks foe lights a bad turn signal switch could cancel you brake lights if there is power on both sides of switch it means power and switch are good check bad bulbs or bad wire harness

Where is the relay located for turn signal in 2007 Dodge Charger?
It is an internal part of the computer inside the underhood fuse box.
The module is failing. The turn signals and emergency flashers are both controlled electronically. The module is behind the emergency flasher switch and requires partial disassemble of the dash to access it There are several screws: 2 on the ends under the fuse covers 2 on the panel under the steering wheel and 2 by the odometer Take your ignition key off the ring, put it in the ignition and position to run so that you can put the column shift into 1 (full down) and put the steering wheel to full down in order to get the clearance to get the pannel off. Gently pull the face off the dash. Don't break off the clips. A replacement is about $40 from the dealer. GO to the junk yard and if your lucky u might find 1 for 10 bucks.. this is a commen problem with impalas i bet i looked throught 15 cars b4 i found one with a switch in it. why buy a new switch that will go bad when u can get a used one that might do the same

Check the following...........turn signal bulbs front and rear, and brake lights, probably a burned out bulb or a bad connection due to corrosion in the bulb socket, finally check the turn signal flasher, under the dashboard, if the bulbs turn out to be OK. To control corrosion in bulb sockets use a di-electric grease that seals the socket to bulb connection and repells water.
Where is the turn signal flasher located on a 1994 Hyundai Elantra?
under your dash. you will see a small panel under your steering wheel there should be about 5 screws drop the panel to the floor and look up to the left near the fuse panel but just above it. if you never changed it then it will be square (because it is factory) a replacement will be round. pull strait down to remove the relay then push the new one into place. turn your turn signal on and you should hear the common clicking of the relay. or if you don't know which one it is with the vehicle ignition in the on position turn on your hazzard flashers and then wait about two minutes. the flasher housing will get hot turn off the ignition and replace the relay. Hope this helps

Where is the flasher unit located on a 1998 Nissan Maxima?
The flasher relay is located underneath the gauge cluster to the right of the stearing column. You do not need to remove anything to see or touch the relay, it is level with the bottom of the trim right above where your right leg rests when driving. Above, not to the right or left. Very easy to find. For future reference, many of these questions can be answered by picking up a Haynes manuel for your car. Fantastic resource. Now, if anyone can tell me where to BUY the flasher relay, I would be eternally greatful. Un4GvnBB
You have to take off the panel just under the steering wheel and in the upper right corner of the panel that you just took off, the flasher should be in there about the size of a marshmellow with three prongs. It should be just up from the left of the hot and cold control.

How do you replace a 2001 Subaru Forester headlight bulb?
These are actually pretty easy. Remove anything you need to remove to get access to the back of the headlight. Remove the electrical contact by pulling straight back as you wiggle it. Pull the neoprene boot back and there is a metal spring clip you squeeze and swing out of the way. The bulb almost drops out.
I may be a little off in the sequence but this is the basic idea. Pretty easy once you figure it out. Your auto parts guy may perform this service for you if you ask.
