Turn Signals and Hazard Lights

The turn signal flasher relay is under the dash of the 1996 Nissan truck. It is on the right side of the steering column.

Take hold of the turn signal light bald connector, push in and turn. The light bulb connector will come out with the light bulb. Remove the light bulb the same way you remove the connector. Reverse the process to install the new light bulb.

It's always been my understanding that it's never legal to drive with hazard lights on (in fact, on some reality police shows they'll show people get pulled over for that). I thought hazards are for when a vehicle is disabled either in traffic or on the shoulder if persons continue to be around it. And, as a personal side, they're not for allowing persons to park or stand in front of stores where there are no parking zones.

The turn signal flasher on a 98 Honda Accord is located under the steering column on driver's side. It is a black box Autozone.com part number EP34 by TRIDON. See link below:

There was no 1989 Chevrolet Lumina produced. First year was 1990. The Flasher Relay on a 1990 is located: Front seating area, driver side, under dash, mounted on passenger side of steering column.

You need to replace it. There are 2 screws that hold it on.

If it is the same as my 1997 GMC Yukon you do this: Open the left back door. Look in the joint of the door (which is against the back of the light assembly) and find a screw near the top of the back of the light assembly thingy. Find another screw at the bottom. Take these out very carefully for they can fall into the oblivion of the car. Remove the light assembly by "pealing" it forward gently (there are two clips holding it on the the car). Unplug the plug thing. Open the assembly (two nuts) and replace whatever bulb. I just did mine and the thing that holds the bulbs was burned out - I got another one at the auto parts store for 27.99. Replace whatever and put it all back together. It was actually very easy and I am not a mechanic by any means.

In the steering column. The flasher is uder the dash by the steering column, howver, they typically do NOT go bad. The most common cause for turn signal failure is the hazard switch on the dash, about $35.00 from Hyundai.

I can't speak for the 1997, but my 1996 Elantra wagon's flasher is located WAY under the dash about a foot to the right of the fuse box and to the left of the steering column. Locate the foot rest/pad on the drivers left and then go straight up from there. (You'll have to lay upside-down on the floor to actually get to find it/change it.)

The flasher is installed on a black connector block about 6" long and 2" wide. My flasher was still the factory installed unit and it has the letters "BL-10Z DOT" on the back and a blue plastic label on the top with a bunch of numbers, but most importantly the word "HAZARD" (as in hazard or emergency lights) on it.

To remove it squeeze the black prongs together and you should be able to pull the unit out. The Hyundai dealership wanted $57 for a replacement, so I used a 3rd party replacement that doesn't have the plastic prongs, but since it was only $15, I figure I can still buy a lot of duct tape if needed. <grin>

Note that you do NOT have to remove the dash, however, there is an "access" panel directly below the steering column, which if removed MAY give you some more light. But again, it does not allow access to the flasher. (To remove the access panel, just put your hand in the cutout and pull down.)

And finally, I checked a 3rd party service manual for help and it did NOT say anything more than that the flasher was located inside the car (the passenger compartment), so you may want to save your money.

short circuits in the turn signal and brake light circuits

two screws on the side of the bed where the tailgate closes over have to be taken out. then you pull the whole light assembly out there are two pins in the light to hold it in they sould pull right out they will hold the light back at first and make it hard to pull but pull strait out so you dont break the pins.

The socket that the bulb sits in may be very loose, you may need to remove the bulb and crimp it with a pair of Pliers, or is the socket rusted up, it may need to be cleaned with a bit of sandpaper, check if where the bulb sits at its base, are the contacts touching the base firmly enough. Finally, are you using the correct Voltage and Wattage Bulb ? Cheers

The factory alarm can not be disabled. It can only be repaired if malfunctioning.

More than likely the flasher relay is bad. Replace it. I would tell you where it is but I have no idea what model car a Seat Cordoba is. Never heard of it.

take off the front bumper.. then it should be accessible or. take out the resevour that's hanging over it.

UNDER THE DASH THERE ARE ABOUT 6 SCREWS TAKE THEM OUT AND THERE WILL BE A BUNCH OF WIRES. ONE OF THE WIRES WILL HAVE A SILVER CAN PLUGED INTO IT MAKE SURE IT IS THE RIGHT ONE BY TRUNING ON YOUR BLINKERS AND LISTEN TO WHAT ONE IS CLICKING AND REPLACE IT.

There are two Fuse locations on the Silhouette. One under the hood, top left corner- the box with the battery cable connected to it, where the turn signal relay should be, OR in the fuse panel, between passenger side door and the dash. Good Luck.

Turn signal relay needs to be replaced. If you turn on the hazard (emergency) switch, all the signal lights should come on. This says the lights are okay.

More than likely the flasher relay is defective. Replace it.
