Usually, only two reasons for this. If it smells like antifreeze then it is the heater core that has gone bad. If it is just water then the ac vent drain is probably clogged with debree. It is usually a rubber type hose that is located in the engine compartment that drains the ac condensation. Can...
Maximum weight for the Chevy Venture varies by the year of thevehicle. The 2014 model has a maximum weight of 3,500 pounds.
Hi, The Body Control Module (BCM) is located on the passenger side of the van, under the right side of the dash. To get to it easily, you will need to remove the lower dash panel and the glove box. I have included a link that shows pictures of its location and how to get to it. Good Luck, Greg

Hi, Almost ALL GM vehicles, including their vans, use the same fuse for the OBD-2 connector that supplies power to the cigar lighter. So check that fuse and make sure it is working.
Have you checked the cooling fan relay? ? This is the child's wooden block size relay installed in the fuse/relay box in under the hood. If it is bad the fan will not come on even if all the other sensors and components of the system are functioning. Also, This cooling fan relay draws a lot of...
Hi, Probably 95% of the time, or more, the problem with a fuel gauge not reading correctly is the fuel level sensor. This sensor is located in the fuel tank and that tank will have to be drained and dropped to get to the sensor. Sorry about that. Good Luck
Check your owner's manual. There should be a detailed list of what fuses control what and their required amps.
== Answer == Sounds to me like you have a broken spring in the valve body You need to have a line pressure test to be sure but that is a common problem in the older cars
I wouldn't recommend it. You have sensors that hook up to your cats which will trip your check engine lights and throw off your vehicles computer. It's not a good idea on newer model vehicles because of the computers, emissions, and you need that back pressure to ensure that your exhaust is...
The locks are probably on a different circut than the sliding door. You might check the fuse box under the dash .I think it is in the number 2 spot to see if the fuse is bad. Check your owners manual. If that doesnt work the motor for the power door could be bad. Good luck!

I'm assuming your asking about the coolant purge valve, there is a pipe that runs right above the exhaust manifold, take a 6mm socket and turn c/clockwise half a turn while you are filling the coolant. Ahen coolant comes out, system is purged. Idle for 20 mins and observe temp and coolant...

This happened to my Chevy Venture too. When I took the arm off, I discovered that the arm and the part that rotates the arm connect by a pattern of grooves, like a gear. The grooves on the inside of the wiper arm were worn down so they were not catching, causing the arm to move just a little then...

Hi, There is no automatic switch really, but the cooling fans are controlled through two relays, which are in turn controlled by the engine computer, or PCM (Powertrain Control Module). I have included a link to a site that goes into detail about how the system works. You might want to take a look...
Hi, If you are referring to the sensor that helps turn on and off the fans for this van, it is the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor, which is located just in front of the thermostat housing. buy a repair manual at any parts store and it explains it step by step
Have the vehicle scanned for codes. I believe Auto Zone and other parts stores will do this for free. The Check Engine light comes on to tell you an error code is stored in the computer. I'm guessing you have a bad oxygen sensor, but DO NOT throw parts dollars at a vehicle randomly.
facing engine #1 left to Right ie #1 on the passenger side #4 on the drivers side.
Hi, If you are referring to the FRONT parking lamp, it is really pretty easy. All you have to do is remove a few wing nuts that hold the signal assembly in place and then pull the assembly out. Once it is out, the bulb just unscrews and you can replace it. I have attached a link that shows how to...
My opinion is you would either have antifreeze in your oil, or oil in your antifreeze or one of the 2 fluids is leaking from the head. I would check to see if its a blown head gasket first, in this case you would get a lot of white smoke pouring out your tail pipe. the proper way to find out if it...
The wheel bearings are not really replaceable by themselves. This is because they are integrated into the hub assembly. So the answer is that you will have to replace the entire hub assembly to replace the bearings.

When a brake line is leaking on the Chevy Venture the brake line should be replaced as soon as possible. A leak, however small, can cause hydraulic fluid to escape the brake line which will cause a loss in brake pressure. The brakes should be bled of air after the new line is put in to...
Hi, There are two basic sensors that feed information to the computer, which in turn controls three relays that control the fan speeds. The two sensors are: Engine Coolant Temperature sensorAC Refrigerant Pressure sensor Based on these inputs, the fans are either OFF, LOW SPEED, or HIGH SPEED. I...

Because the "Harmonic Balancer", aka, "Cranshaft Pulley" is actually a 2 piece, part. The hard rubber center hub sometimes loses its way, and once it starts 'wobbling', it eventually fails. Symptoms include belts coming off the pulleys, and also them breaking, both in half, and by splitting...

Hi, The hard part about changing the turn signal bulb is getting the light assembly out. But that is not really that hard. There are three "wing nuts" that hold the turn signal and headlight assemblies to the frame of the van. You have to remove the wing nut that is closest to the outside of the...
Hi, This could be one of hundreds of issues with the engine or emission system. You will need to connect a scan tool to your van so that it will read any stored codes in the engine computer. That will tell you what the issue is and then it can be addressed. Good Luck
the park tab is bent. it is a thick piece of metal that must be bent back slightly toward the wiper motor with a hammer or plyers.I assume this issue started when there was snow/ice on the windshield?

Hi, The shocks in the back of the van are "automatic" in that they fill and empty based on the height of the back of the van and a couple of position sensors that are back there. This also assumes that your air pump is installed and working properly. If you have that pump, you should also have an...

If you have power door locks push a wedge into the top corner of the door - two screw drivers work great or a tapered block of wood. At the top, back corner of your drivers door, you want to wedge it open so that you can wiggle a coat hanger down from the top of the door into the van. You want to...

first pull off the cylinder heads, then disconnect the connecting rod caps and push the pistons out of the top of the engine. make sure you keep everything organized: each piston ring turned the right way so the ring gaps line up like they're suppose to, everything in order, and...
There are many ways to check if you need a new alternator. Your car will not run properly without one.
Hi, If you are referring to low air flow, the first thing I would check is the Cabin Air Filters, which are located at the back of the glove box. It you have not changed these filters on the last year or so, just replace them. I have included a link that shows their location and how to do the job....
I also have a 2001 Venture and have had this same problem for years. It is most apparent when the outside temperature is high, and the tank has recently been filled. It seems to be coming from under the vehicle and I was wondering if it is some sort of valve that opens to vent and release pressure....
How many miles? You probably need the transmission fluid flushed. Bring it to a mechanic that knows the difference between good transmission oil and the stuff Valvoline and other quickie places use. ---If your engine has over 50k miles, don't flush the transmission. That will cause blown gaskets...

Place a wrench on the pulley that pulls the belt tight. Its not the A/c, alternater, water pump, or fan but the other one. This should make the belt loose then pull it off. Replace with a new belt. Ensure that the belt is in the correct sequence as it was before.
The book time, or time it takes a mechanic,Êto change a radiator in a 2000 Chevy Venture with the 3.4 liter engine is 3.1 hours. It may take slightly a longer or shorter time depending on the exact vehicle year and engine size.
it is bolted to the distributor just under the distributor cap.
The thermostat is located under the thermostat housing, very near the throttle body, on the driver (left) side of the engine. Just follow the upper radiator hose and it will take you right there, but these things are a real pain to change. Good luck
Looking through the users manual is the best way to do this. You can also get the help of a mechanic to make sure that you are doing it right.
If you are having issue with the anti-lock breaking system or you are seeing the "traction" light coming on at different times, you will have take a look at the wheel speed sensor circuits. These are the main sensors that drive this system.
