Hey Mona==Get it checked out before you ruin the engine. If the gauge is gound into the red there is a problem somewhere. If you ignore it you can ruin the engine which is megabucks. GoodluckJoe

It may not have anything to do with the oil. Go to Auto Zone and have the codes read and repaire them. GoodluckJoe

You have a sensor or something wrong in your engine peformance. You need to use a scan tool to scan your PCM or you can use a paper clip to retrieve trouble codes for your car. You have ALDL on 1994 saturns. Assembly line Diagnostic link. Under your dash about where your left knee is when your driving is your ALDL. just take a paper clip and jump the B lead with the A lead. then turn your key to the on position.(don't start just turn key on)your service engine soon light should start to blink the trouble codes stored on your PCM. invest in a manual for your car it will explain how to read and understand the codes. The codes will help pinpoint the problem you are having. The internet has alot of information on this topic too.

Take it to the dealer. They have check out charts. This happened to me in a 96 Monte Carlo. The dealer did not have time to look at it - we were on a road trip out of town - but suggested it might be the key. Ours has the chip in it - maybe your does, too? He said it might be going bad. At any rate, we changed to the spare and the light went out and stayed out. That was over a year ago, so sounds like he was right!

The check engine light codes have to be read and removed with a scanner on anything after '96.Auto Zone will do it free.GoodluckJoe To reset the "check engine" light, simply disconnect the battery for a moment and it will go out. This worked for me on my 98 Ranger. try checking the co2 sensor. A sure fire method, if you can access the fault codes, is to remove the jumper wire while the codes are displaying. Pull the codes from the computer, match the code to the troubleshooting procedure, follow the procedure to find the source. Repair the source, light will go out if that was the only problem. There are "monitors" or self tests the computer runs the car through a drive cycle, if a problem occurs, it may not run all of the self tests until that problem is taken care. Therefore, another problem may exist. It is emission related. OR hook up a scanner that is capable of clearing codes, and hope that none are still active. Usally U turn the key on without starting & push the gas pedal down 3 times within 5 seconds.

My 1995 buick regal (3.8) has developed a problem when started.The oil level monitoring warning light stays on after the engine is running. I can shut off the motor and do a restart and the light will stay off,but every time the vehicle sits for any period of time with the motor off I go thru the same process again (light on at start up/turn off and restart and the light stays off)The oil level is up to par and the filter is clean and new. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Faulty oil pressure switch would be my guess, same thing with my Previa. Replace the cheap switch and see if it is a more expensive problem.

If your check engine light is blinking that means an engine

cylinder misfire has been detected . You can drive it in for

repair , just avoid any rapid aceleration or deceleration

because you can damage the catalytic converter

Check engine light off, codes cleared; cold start.

-warm up engine 5 minutes (or until closed loop is reached--5 min is usually plenty)

-drive (w/ steady throttle) at a steady speed between 40 and 60 mph for 8 min

-stop and idle 3 min

-drive (w/ steady throttle) at a speed above 20 mph for 2 min

-turn key off, leave off 10 min

timing belt may have snapped

replace temp sensor it give no falt code just a problem

The EPC light came on today on a 2001 Seat Ibiza, along with the car's lock suddenly locking. After 3 or 4 efforts, we figured that the problem was solved unlocking the car using the key while the engine was on (the electronics on the car always blocked when the EPC came on). After that the EPC light switched off. I hope you can solve the problem this way.

Hi! #85 is an 'immobilizer' code. Most likely triggered by a missing/wrong chip in a car key (spare key - with no chip?). The code reader in the steering column is anable to recognize the key.

yes you can get this code, code p0455 is a large evap leak detected or no purge flow detected. A loose cap could create a large leak, so this could be the problem. However most loose gas caps will give you a small leak detected code.

is the cutoff switch a normally open or normally closed switch ? If it a normally closed switch as it should be then the switch will need to activate with the ignition in order to supply fuel. There could be a problem with the fuel cutoff relay or a fuse. Also if you are using a non factory key then this might also happen.

A Fiat dealer can give you an owner's manual. The owners manual should outline what each warning light indicates and its function.

You need an OBDII reader, I got mine at Auto Zone (can't think of the brand right now, but it's orange and was about $150), I've seen them for less, though and they work on all OBDII cars. Follow the instructions, write down the code incase it keeps returning, then erase the code and the light goes out. Good luck!

You can also try disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes and then reconnecting it. It should clear it out. It worked for me. However I would go to Auto Zone first and atleast have them check the code. They will do it for free and at least if it comes on again you will know if it is the same problem.

I did the battery thing after having it checked at Auto zone and it cost me nothing. I then went and passed my emisions test.

where is the bank 1/sensor 2 O2 sensor on a dodge caravan...to the rear of the catalitic converter or to the engine (front) side of the converter?

Right off the top with out going into detail I would try checking your air filter. Also check fuel filter both of these can cause your check engine light to come on. With that new of a car or truck there shouldn,t be any thing major wrong with it. Also check your fuel filler cap make sure it is on right. These newer car are so computerized the slightist thing causes your check engine light to come on. They have got censors all over them ready to go off at any time.

As a Gm master tech, the most likely cause is a Evap code caused by your fuel cap not being on tight. This code only sets if your fuel is 1/4 to 3/4 full. Tighten the cap and disconnect the battery to clear the code. If you let me know what model vehicle and can give you some more hints to what else it might be.

What this usually means is that there is an ignition coil that is going bad or is bad. The TCS light will come on because one of the cylinders are misfiring. When the car senses this, it detects this misfire as "slippery conditions" and the TCS lite will engage.

Take it to an autozone and have them diagnose which cylinder is misfiring. Then replace the ignition coil for that cylinder. Dont let the fact that the engine has a cover over it scare you. A 10MM socket wrench will get that right off. Its only 4 nuts. Using that same size socket wrench will loosen the bolt that holds the ingntion coil intact to the engine.

Once you replace that coil, put that cover back on, you will be good to go!

the bank 2 is on the driver side i got this info from an Isuzu mechanic

At key on it should come on for a couple second "bulb check".
