How do you disable the ESC on 1984 Blazer 305?

If you look at your Distributor, you will see a 4-wire connector on the left side of it.

unplug the connector. and then look at the connector end that comes from the

distributor it will have letters wrote on it. Find the letters A and C Now make you up

a little short wire with ends on it that will hook to the small A and C pins and hook the A and C pins together so the jumper wire don't fall out. THATS IT.

Don't worry about the other end of the connector. just tie it back out of the way.

How do you remove the thermostat from a '89 Silverado with a 350?

Unhook the top radiator hose from the engine thermostat housing. Now take the 2 bolts out of the housing that the hose was hooked to, and take the thermostat out.

Scrape the old gasket off of engine and housing. Install new thermostat with spring

down, put gasket on engine install housing and both bolts. NOTE- Be sure that you tighten both bolts EVENLY AND A LITTLE AT A TIME UNTILL TIGHT. Now install

hose and fill with coolant.

Before you start the job MAKE SURE ENGINE IS COLD and you will need to drain

coolant first. If it seaps coolant around the housing, then tighten the 2 bolts more.

What all do you need to start a motor on the engine stand And how do you hook it all up?

Assuming that you are talking about a non computer controlled engine and a VERY strong engine stand I would say that you need a battery with connections to engine for ground,to starter, and to the coil. A remote starter switch connected also to the starter solenoid and pos battery cable. Fuel supply and tubing if pump is on engine if not you will need a fuel pump. Radiator and hoses for cooling unless you only intend to test fire it and not run it for more than a minute. And remember that when you want to shut it off to pull the coil wire.

Can you switch a carburetor from a 305 Chevy to a 350 on 1985 c 10?

First of all the 85 is a fuel injected engine, You can not put a carburetor on a fuel injected intake manifold it won't even fit.

And if you put a carbureted intake on it you will need to change the elect fuel pump in the tank, the distributor and you will need to DRILL out the 4 center bolt holes in the intake manifold too. Plane and simple THE ENGINE WON'T RUN WORTH A...................D...M need to keep it fuel injected.

How long have they made 4 door trucks?

Not exactly sure how long.

I used to own a 1966 Chevy truck which was a retired forest service truck 4wd and 4 door. However they do go back further than that.

Don't know if it was originally a 4 door, or if it was a conversion, but did see once at a carshow an old 4 door stake bed truck circa late 20's early 30's

How to connect the tach to the coil on a 87 El Camino?

Since the coil is in the distributor, simply hook the tach 'trigger' wire to the out put on the side of the distributor cap marked 'tach'.

Will throttle body intake fit a 327?

It depends on your heads. Throttle body was introduced in 87 which is also the same year small blocks got a new head design. The valve covers had center bolt holes instead of two bolts on top and two on the bottom. On 1986 and down the four center intake bolts were angled like the rest of the bolts. This was a pain for installation and removal because you had to use a box wrench to loosen/tighten the bolts. 87 and newer heads changed those four bolts to straight up and down eliminating the previous hassles.

All that said, you can drill the four bolt holes to an angled pattern to make them fit. I did this to my 88 Chevy truck when I installed a 73 motor but wanted to retain the TBI. When you do this, use intake gaskets to match your heads and use a little black RTV sealant around those four bolts. I did my conversion more than 5 years ago and have never had any problem.

One thing for you to consider seriously is fuel delivery. If your motor has large valve heads or any machine work done to the heads, the stock GM TBI injectors will not deliver enough fuel. I have heard of guys using a TBI from a 454 to get larger venturis and higher fuel volume.

Another problem with GM TBI and spark systems is that they won't tolerate a big cam. In fact, you can't do much of anything with cams without changing lots of other components including the PROM in the computer. As I recall the techs at Comp Cams told me that the max duration was somewhere in the 240s which is only a tiny bit larger than stock (even an RV cam is like 255 which is too much).

Choose wisely and do ALL your homework before you purchase any parts for your engine.

Good Luck.

Will vortec 350 starter work on vortec 305 engine?

Are you asking if the 350 vortec will interchange with the 305 vortec or any 350 with the 305 vortec?

The 305 vortec uses a conventional small block Chevy style large starter. The 350 vortec often uses a high tourqe mini starter. You can interchange them. The mini starter is preferred as it saves space has more torque and normally last longer.

Now if you're talking older starters interchanging? Some of the older small blocks used a diagonal bolt pattern and different tooth count.

Convert torque to horsepower?

Not that easy. HP is basically torque and RPM together, so you need RPM too to get HP.

Where can you get a kickdown cable for a 1996 Geo Tracker besides the dealership they charge 100 just for the cable and that's not including the labor?

That's pretty much a dealer-item. You can probably get one from a wrecking yard. They probably don't wear out that often so you can feel reasonably safe with a used one.

How can you tell a 305 from a 350?

To be sure, take the numbers off of the drivers side rear of engine and check with dealer.
