Could there be problems accelerating after new crankshaft sensor fitted?
It could be a dirty up throttle plate but most likely they screwed up the crank sensor, take it back to the place you had it serviced, tell them to make it right, if they give you any crap treaten to call The Buereau of Automotive Repair, (This will strike the fear of God into any sensible mechanic) they will most likely fix it at no charge to you at this point, and if not then DO call the Buereau they are in the government listings in your phone book, this agency employs agents who are experianced former mechanics, tell them your touble and they will investigate it
Yep, but not a whole lot. In electronic igniton systems, the "old fashioned" points and condenser in the distributor have been replaced with non-mechanical timing for the firing of the ignition coil[s], and thus the plugs. The method for doing this is a "Hall Effect" transistor pickup sensor, which is "triggered" by a small magnet[s] passing by it. Sorry I can't give more detail. j3h.

The sensor has 1 bolt holding it in. Remove the bolt, you may have to wiggle the sensor at the base a bit as you pull it out. Replace, and make sure it is pushed in all of the way. Replace the bolt, wire plug, starter, reconnect the battery. If you have ever removed or replaced a starter this is cake, that is the hardest part of the job. Rich
How do you replace the crankshaft position sensor in a 97 Saturn SL1?
I have a Saturn SC2, it shouldn't be that much different. You're gonn need to jack your car up because you can only get to it from the bottom. It's goona be a feeling game, but the crankshaft sensor is right behind the starter. You can see from the top to get a good idea where it is and another way is to follow the positive battery wire to the stater. To change the sensor you're gonna need 10mm rachet, the bolt will be first just fit around, remember it's a feeling game, just loosen the bolt and pull up, the sensor going to ba attached to a green connector with a yellow wire and a purple wire, unhook and replace with new sensor. When I changed mine today, I noticed my sensor was cracked. Any questions feel free to reply.

Where is the location of the position bulb on the Volvo xc70?
Position light bulbs can be either headlamp or parking lamp/marker lamp bulbs
Have a look on the centre console. Its probably one of the lights around either the left or right temperature dial on the air conditioner. It only comes on when you turn the headlights on and have the illumination come on on the the dash. Mine came on today but error message only showed when I turned on the headlights.
The above statement is incorrect. NONE of the dash light bulbs will turn on the bulb failure message. Note they did say the the message came on when the headlights were turned on. This is an indication that one of the position bulbs or a headlight bulb has failed. I have 30 plus years as a Volvo factory trained technician.
