Why are Mazda MPV tailights not working when the brake lights work fine?

I am having this same problem. The lights for the license plate don't work either. I have had two mechanics suggest to me that I replace the HeadLight Switch. I am thinking about ordering one on Monday.

Why would the blinkers on a '92 Chevy 1500 not work while the lights and brakes are on?

May want to check your dimmer switch, too - it could just be in the off position. You could have a shorted relay if it only happens when you turn your headlights on. From the description you gave, it sounds as if the instrument cluster has come unplugged. You may be able to reach up behind the cluster and plug it back in, but usually the cluster has to be removed to access the plug.

The air bag light on my 1999 navigator is blinkin?

Answer

If you are talking about the one that pops out of your steeringwheel then try pressing the horn really hard to try and fix it because it might just be a very small gap between the cover and the sensor for your air bag

Answer

Why does your third brake light work but the brake lights in the tail lights does not?

Did you try replacing the bulbs?

Its in the muti function control arm. Move it while someone else looks.

I got it. I used a roto zip tool, cut open the casing above the muti function control arm. Have some one look at the brake lights while you move the switch for and aft. I saw some movement in between two parts that corresponded with the lights working and then not. I jammed a pull tab from a beer can in between the gap and BOOM. Problem solved. I put a drop of silicone on the front side of the BUSCH beer pull tab. Getting her done in the warm Florida sun

Eagle talon 1995 brake lights are not working But the lights work when the light are on why dont the brake lights come on?

Where is the blower motor fuse or resistor on a 1995 jeep Cherokee sport?

Underneath the dash on the passenger side, you will see a metal plate with a wire clip and 4 wires leading out... (it's shape is sort of a cross between elliptical and diamond) remove the wire clip and you see 4 metal tabs. Remove the 2 bolts and the resistor is attached to the other side of the plate. You must first remove the glove compartment to see the resistor, then

loosen 1 bolt facing rear of glove box and remove 2 vertical bolts in cover

to the left of kick panel where fuse box is located. This will give enough room to reach the resistor if hands aren't too big. When resistor has been removed it may have debris packed around it, which caused it to burn out, if so duct work may have to be cleaned out of leaves or mouse nest.

Why does the air stop blowing out of vents when you step on the gas to increase speed?

If you included the kind of car you have,I could be more specific but all cars have a vacuum canister under the hood. some are round plastic and some are a tin can and most are black. There shuold be a vacuum line going from the intake to one end and a vacuum line out of the other that supplies vacuum to the interior of the car, There should be a one way valve in the canister or the line from the intake. This valve is not functioning and loosing vacuum in the resirvoir. If it is in the resirvoir which most are, replace the resirvoir.

How do you replace the head gasket located on a Ford Escort 1.9L?

Well, you really don't want to repair it. What you need to do is pull the head off, check or have a professional check if it has any cracks in it, If not (if so, you'll need a new head) just scrape, or use a certified foam cleanser to remove old gasket and seal (probably an orange or blue colored silicone), be sure it is clean! Then buy a new gasket (15-40$) and a tube of HighHeat silicone. Although the manufacture doesn't recomend a silicone seal, it does provide some added protection. Take a small ammount of silicone and place it on the ridges which are around the edge of your block (where the head sits) then place the gasket on the block. To provide a better fit, you should lay your new gasket on the trunk of your car in the sun. This will expand the gasket and make it more flexible. The place the head over the gasket. When tightening the bolts, just get each one started first. Then go around and tighten them to the recommended strength(should be an ammount of lbs.), or just tighten them down where they fit snugly. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN! This will result in a poor seal and will cause another blown gasket. Let the silicone cure overnight, and your finished.

Does a car with front wheel drive need front end alignment?

There is no reason you should have to. If the tie rod was knocked out of the spindle it goes back in the same place. Nothing else has any effect on the alignment.

- Indicates that the handbrake has been applied

- Indicates that there is a problem with the braking system

The latter requires one to have their brake systems checked by a professional.

Brake lights wont turn off on Honda civic?

Did you replace the bulbs recently? if so make sure you have a dual filament bulb. If you put a single filament bulb in it will cause this to happen.

If the bulb isn't the issue then you should take it to a mechanic to see if there is a sensor out of whack that is tellling the brake lights to come on.

Where is the fuse for the heater and fan motor on a 1985 Dodge Ram pickup?

Most usually they are located either IN the glovebox OR Under them! I have found some answers to some of my questions under ask.com or you could call a local Dodge dealer to make sure you find it! Most mechanics can tell you for no fee if you call one. My husband used to drive one way back in 1996 and the place he works for had 2 that were that old. He told me the fusebox is either Under the glovebox housing or IN the glovebox if NOT look near the brake area! Sometimes there is a fusebox there as well! I know over the years they have changed the locations of them so many times it's confusing but I hope I have helped you!

Both the parking brake light and ABS light come on together every so often yet everything seems to be fine any suggestions?

brake and abs lightcheck brake fluid level. The round float in the master cylinder directly controls the 2 dash lights.

---

The light is NOT directly controlled by the master cylinder float. The light is controlled by the ABS Module, which location depends on your vehicle. There are a number of different reasons the lights come on. If it comes on but shuts back off within seconds, don't worry about it, that occasionally happens when it gets a bad signal ("nonlatching error"). In rear-wheel-drive (RWD) vehicles, it is common for the differential speed sensor in the rear differential to go bad. You can pick up a Haynes manual to find if you can do at-home diagnostics (Temporarily grounding out the diagnostic lead will cause the ABS light to flash out a pattern indicating the error)

Check the Brake Pressure switch ( also known as SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH ) which is located below the Brake fluid master cylinder for leakage. The leakage can cause both lights to stay on and also cruise control control not working and even worst.. possible fire .. Please refer to http://www24.brinkster.com/sdhartney/linc/05s28rev14.pdf for more information. You can buy replacement part at Ford dealer and replace it yourself depends on your skill in about 30 mins.

AnswerIt could also be an ABS system trouble code / condition.

What causes a loud howling noise from the engine upon acceleration when its cold outside and the engine is warm it turns on and off like a switch?

I Have a 99 Ford Explorer XLS 4X4 OHV and it does the same thing. I discovered that it is the Idle Air Control Valve(IAC) located under the intake manifold. You can try cleaning it first to see if that solves your problem, if not you can get a new one for about $45 to $50. Removal and installation are very easy once you locate it and identify it. Hope this helps anyone dealing with this annoying problem.
