Why do you hear a clicking sound from the engine when you accelerate?
when we accelerate vehicle the supply of fuel gets increased .. Then inside the combustion chamber all the charge can't burn in such case so phenomena of knocking takes place.. So the sound can be heared.
What causes a battery drain in a 1978 kz kawasaki 650?
I can be countless things, but a short is likely if the systems check out otherwise (charging, battery, etc.). To diagnose, you can check the drain on each circuit via the fuse box using a multimeter which can be had for about $10 at radio shack etc.. Buy one, learn to use it (5 minutes max, instructions included). Check charging, battery, then after, if thats all fine, pull fuses and check each circuit, based on fuse ratings, useage indicated by meters, and switching circuit devices on and off. If your battery is old and has gone dead, been stored on the ground, been through cold winters, it's likely just not holding a charge is all. Oh, if battery connections are dirty, the charging system wont be able to refeed the battery. Easy stuff, just gotta start, keep swinging til you figure it out.
How do you get more power out of a 305 CID 5.0L Engine?

What may cause a clicking noise from the engine of a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo with a 130K miles on it?
Hey Michelle==My son had a rodeo and the lifters which are incorperated in the rocker arms would make noise every so often. He would get some GUNK engine flush and follow directions and it would stay gone for another good while. He changed his oil every 3000 miles. And changed the timing belt every 60,000 miles He sold it with 225000 miles and had no major engine repairs. Goodluck Joe
Probably the timing chain began to wear out and finally broke. Happened to another car of mine with similar engine. Its possible the main bearings or the rod bearings gave out and locked it up. You'll have to drop the oil pan and see if they turned. If they did its time for a new engine or atleast a rebuild. Its also possible the timing chain broke and the piston and valves clashed, for that the head has to come off. I have a 98 tracker. My engine started making a clicking sound. My dad has worked on alot of vehicals in his lifetime. He thought it was the timining belt breaking cause the sound was coming from there. I ordered the belt in, and he took the vehical apart to replace, just to find out that the belt was okay. But I got him to replace it. I phoned around including chev and they informed me to take it in and have it checked. I live 4 hours away to the nearest place I can have it checked. I wind up taking a day off so I can take it in, I filled it up with gas and I left. On the way over there my vehical kept on losing power and dipping to 50km/h and so fourth, the engine sounded okay but it kept on doing that. A normal ride that took 4 hours took 5.5 hours with a few minutes stop in between. when it came to going up a hill, it lost power, going up at 20km/h. Well I finally made it there. The service person told me that there was a few possibilities why this would happen and I told them to do whatever they have to do to make it run properly again, they even though it might have been the catalylic converter and they were ready to make a bypass by putting in a straight pipe to the muffler, they assured me it wouldn't damage the vehical. But anyway an hour and half later, they phoned me back and told me my vehical was ready. I came to the garage and they told me that all the problem I was having turned out to be the timing and so I paid for their service and went my way. The vehical was running ok. On the way back, my vehical seemed to have more power than usual and my rpms were normal, I thought that was probably what I was having a problem with. Well after 2.5 hours of driving home, my engined just went dead. I cranked it and it cranked okay. It was minus 30 degrees celcius, I was prepared but I was there for 3 hours and luckily I was prepared by grabbing winter clothing. Well i phoned home and my dad picked me up. I got it towed to the nearest town and I went home. Three days later, the temperature was back up to plus 3 degrees and I thought my vehical had froze because it was too cold. But we towed it back to my town. I checked everything, including the gas filter and pump and distributer cab to see if there were sparks. Everything checked out. My dad removed the spark plug and put a metal thing inside to see if my valves were working and sure enough it wasn't moving. He took my front end of the engine apart cause he thought the belt was broken, it wasn't. He checked the crankshaft and here a tiny little metal pin like thing he calls a key was worn out and no longer moving the engine. He got another of this pin thingy and he replaced it along with a cement mixing compound. He put everything back together and I never had a problem. Overall, check to see if the engine is cranking properly, if not check the timing belt and if it is okay, check that pin thingy, it is located on the crankshaft pully thingy.. I know it was a long story, but I just thought I'd let you know what I went through. If you would like to contact me, you may email me at rdjanvier@sasktel.net
Is there good money to be made fixing small engines?
If you have enough clientele, there's potential for it. It's a bit doubtful you'll find yourself a multi-millionaire from doing lawnmower engine repair, though.
How to tell if an engine is siezed?
Make sure battery is charged
Make sure starter and starter solenoid are working properly
Make sure neutral or clutch safety switch is operating Vehicle won't turn over
Try to manually turn engine over with a large socket on the crankshaft
(make sure transmission is in neutral)
The cost to replace engine rings is at least $1800. The bulk of the price comes from the labor needed because the engine must be disassembled to remove the pistons in order to replace the rings.
On a 97 deville can erg valve cause the engine to overheat?
It is possible if it was putting too much exhaust back into the engine causing it to run lean. I'd check for any computer codes for the EGR valve. They should tell you what is wrong.
Try blasting a little starting fluid into the thottle bore and then cranking it.
There is no reset switch but you will have to do some prayer meeting and maintenanec. After 2 years the gas has likely turned to shellac or therebouts. Get rid of the old gas.
Emptying the tank a great place start but pull number 1 and see if spark, also after doing tank, check see if new gas is flowing thru lines.
Examine reasons for failure to listen empathically?
Failure to listen empathically can stem from various factors, including personal biases and distractions that prevent individuals from fully engaging with others. Emotional barriers, such as anger or frustration, can also hinder one's ability to empathize. Additionally, a lack of awareness or training in active listening skills may contribute to ineffective communication. Ultimately, these obstacles can create misunderstandings and weaken interpersonal relationships.
What if you put sugar in the gas tank?
Sugar in the gas tank will not cause the engine to fail because sugar does not dissolve in gas. It will get pulled thru the gas line and into the fuel filter(s) and depending on how much sugar is in the tank, will plug the fuel filter sooner or later. This will cause the car to stall or not stay running. You can either replace the fuel filters until the sugar is gone or get the car to a mechanic and have the gas tank removed and flushed out. This is not a do-it-yourself project. You could also drive the car to the mechanic and then have the fuel filter replaced while they are flushing the gas tank.

Is there a sensor that would cause the engine to shut off on a Geo Metro?
Look at one of the 3-4 big fuses under the hood, drivers side by the battery.
Alternative oil for two stroke engine?
If you really, really have to, it's possible to mix-regular 4-stroke engine oil with the fuel instead. It's usually recommended to use a richer mixture in that case.
But it's overall far better to use the correct type - 2-stroke oil - instead.
What do you do if your freeze plugs are leaking?
You replace them. There is no adequate fix unless they are replace. The old ones have to be knocked out and this takes skill because you dont want them to fall into the block or damage the cylinders. And on most motors, excluding some 4 cylinders the motor has to be removed or engine has to be tilted to replace them. Attempting to do this w/o removing or tilting motor can result in engine damage or just wasted time in failure... and frankly its just a pain in the ass.
If your engine is marked 'use 5W30 oil only' could using 10W40 cause any engine problems?
5W30 is a viscosity rating, In simple terms resistance to flow. 10W40 is a thicker oil in extreem winter climate you could experience hard stating. If you use a synthetic or partially sythetic oil you will be better off.
i tried it in my 95 Monte Carlo 99,000 miles.it triggered service engine light to come on.going tomorrow to put 5w30 back in it.
In newer model vehicles it is important to use the correct viscosity oil because the engine has been made to properly flow oil of a specified weight. I've seen heavier oil put in new vehicles by ignorrant techs. and the oil can not make its way to lubricate the valves and wears a good motor fast. If you hear ticking noises you better change with new oil qiuckly and hopes the motor runs smooth again.
