5W-30 try a synthetic blend since your car is newer ***Synthetic blend is not necessary in this engine, and the only benefit that you will see from the use of synthetic fluid is the ability to go longer in between oil changes. Due to the cost of synthetic oil, the existence of little or any benefit is arguable. Use, at the most, a synthetic-blended 5W-30 engine oil.

-Faulty ignition switch. Possible to clean contacts on some cars, but ultimatly needs replacing from either parts store or dealer.-Possibly worn key cylnder, too much slop not allowing it to turn ignition switch all the way to start.

Most cars require dismantling the steering column, removing airbag and steering wheel with special tool, and possibly drilling out security screws for the switch. Without these precautions, would be much easier for a thief to start the car by bypassing the key cylinder entirely, and turning the switch manually.

you are a couplke of years late in changing it regularly. It's called "blowby". When the piston rings wear down, combustion gasses leak between the piston and cylinder into the crankcase. Blowby is arguably one of the best indicators of engine maintenance. Old oil picks up small pieces of abrasive materials that wear down the cylinder walls over time.

i had the same problem. i have a two door 97 Toyota tercel with auto transmission. it was a fuse for the ful injector. there was an extra one in the black fuse box under the hood. try this

The fuel filter on a Pontiac 2000 Grand Am is located under, in between the gas tank and under the trunk where the spare tire lies. The fuel filter is there to keep the dirt and rust particles out of the fuel system.

This is not a question that can be answered using the word ussually. It all depends on how rough its been treated, how well its been maintained, blah, blah....if its in good condition you are looking at anywhere from 1400-1800$

Just did one today and put pass lock in hibernation! 1. This part is very important. With car running cut yellow wire on passlock car must be running. Security lite will stay on after that.2. Shut off car and restart then turn off 3.Disconnect neg bat cable4. Cut orange wire on radio and instal a toggle switch this is the 12 volt bat wire.5. Reassemble 6 start car and turn toggle switch on for radio when you shut the car off just flip the toggle off and no door buzzer while it not running. Cheap fix for a very expensive problem. the second gear start switch is for ice or wet conditions. Tthe car starts in second which makes it easier to not spin the wheels giving you better traction NOT FOR NORMAL DRIVING OR PROLONGED DRIVING use it only when you need it I think it is when you step on the gas, the car doesn't go forward until it is in second gear. Good for wet or slippery roads.

your best bet if you want to stick with the 12a motor is to buy the j-spec 12a which comes factory with a turbo. I found one i believe it was on "engineland.com" for 900 bucks so it isn't to expensive

There is no dip stick in the 1997 (electronic) Mercedes transmission. The tranny is sealed with syntetic fluid and it is the first year of the new electronic transmission. MB does not want anyone to "play" with it. Only a MB dealer can check the level, most likely with a laptop computer. The only thing anyone else can do is slowly remove the drain plug to collect a small sample and observe the quality ( color/smell) of the fluid. Been there, mine was black and nasty: cost $2700 to overhaul.

It's difficult especially to get lower bolt. Had to remove exhaust cover to get a little more room to work and also had to remove all the air cleaner stuff. Took about 4 hrs

In common cases its either bad strutts or it needs an alignment Or if you are driving and it vibrates more during certain speeds then you may have to get your tires balanced. Any tire shops in your area will have this ability. It is usually inexpensive from 10 bucks a tire to 20 depending on where you shop. Donkey

I have been experiencing the same problem, I have changed the fuel filter several times, and replaced the fuel pump the problem still exists. As far as I can see the only thing left to change is the fuel pressure regulator?

1. Remove all the interior pillar trim by pulling it out.

2. Remove the visors and mounts

3. Remove the rearview mirror. It's spring mounted pull down hard or use a wide blade to pry it down.

4.Remove the pannel next to the mirror. There are two hidden release clips on the windshield side. That side will drop down then slide it forward.

5. Remove the rear dome light and slide the headliner locking clip toward the front

6. Remove the moon roof glass. Six screws behind the bellows covers. I can't remember if you have to remove the rails or not.

7. Have someone pull the headliner toward the windshield while gently prying the headliner where it wraps around the rear of the moon roof opening. That's actually one long clip over the metal edge.

8. Now if you need to actually get it out of the car you may have to remove the front passenger side seat and door and fullyrecline the driver seat to angle it out towards the front of the car

You can return it for service, but unless you were given an express warranty (in that the dealer lied to you about the vehicle) you can't bring it back for good.
