How do you install a drive belt on a 1999 Saab 93 convertible with turbo?

http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/20040929.Saab_9-5_serpentine_belt/

This site is pretty http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/20040929.Saab_9-5_serpentine_belt/

I found this to be the best for my 1999 9-5, should be the same for the 9-3 turbo.

A couple of things I found:

The replacement SAAB belt is shorter, missing out the centre pulley. I have actually fitted both and I found that the original lenghth 2601 (I believe) was easier to fit. With the tensioner pulled forward or compressed it was easier to push the belt down in the centre onto the centre pulley. I had to go for an after market belt to get the length.

I also found that using the half inch socket extension rod to compress the tensioner was difficult as the brake reservoir got in the way. I used a half inch socket speed brace instead and the shape of the brace fit nicely around the reservoir.

As described in the mentioned web-site you have to remove the engine mount and wheel but don't be put off, simple job that my mum could do.

Lastly - check pulley's to make sure they are running smooth or you may find that you trash another belt like I did.

How do you take out the headlight assembly to change the bulb on a 99 grandam se?

How do you disable the theft system on a 1996 Pontiac grand am?

You can't. I had the exact same problem with my 96 grand am, and after changing the ignition and also the instrument cluster was the only way to get it to work. I would try to replace the ignition first cause it could not be reading the key properly and if it still gives you problems then your whole control panel will need to be changed. Either way its going to cost a pretty penny.

Actually you can. This is a common problem with grand am's. If the car does not start on the first try...the anti theft system will kick in and the car won't start for 10 minutes. Don't try to start until the security light stops flashing. I finally disabled mine by cutting the yellow wire behind the radio. If you do this the security light will always be on (steady) but at least the car will start every time.

How many miles can you expect to get out of a 1998 Camry?

like most things, it depends.. with good care and maintenance a 1998 Camry should last a very long time. My '98 Camry has 225,000 miles and it's still in topnotch shape. I've had it for 4 yrs now and I bought when it had 105K miles. Never rebuilt engine or tranny, both are in excellent condition. I use fully synthetic oil which I change every 7,500miles. A lot of people waste money by changing oil too frequently (3K), always follow your owner's manual and its recommendation are usually 2-tiered one for stop-n-go VS highway driving. Make sure to follow the maintenance schedule from your owners manual, if you do, 1 million miles should not be out of reach if that how long you want to keep it for.

good luck.

Do you check the transmission fluid in a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee in park or neutral?

More than likely either one. What does your owner's manual say?

AnswerUnfortunately, I don't have one of those. My Haynes manual says one way and my Chilton's manual says the other. It gives 2 different readings between the 2, and I would hate to over fill it and cause damage. Answer

I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and a digital copy of the manual. It says:

Have the engine at operating temp, 15 miles of driving will do.

be on level ground (of course)

pull the emergency brake and press the brake pedal.

Place the shift lever in every position momentarily ending in park

then your routine, wipe, dip, then check on the dipstick.

it also tells you how to read the dipstick but if you can't figure that out you shouldn't be attempting this, Put your helmet back on!

How do you change the side mirrors on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am?

On your door there is a rectangular plastic piece, some cars it has a round little speaker in it. Remove that piece by pulling it gently, so you wont break it. There will be 3 to 4 screws with bolts attached. Remove bolts and if they are power mirrors, you will need to unplug the connector. The connector is behind the door paneling. Its not that far down.

Where is the turn signal relay on a 1995 Oldsmobile 88?

Are you sure you don't mean fuse? The turn signal fuse is under the drivers side dash in the fuse box. The inside label of the panel will tell you which one.

If your turn signal is not working, also check the flasher. They are a type of relay too, and located in the shroud area next to the steering wheel. If you have an a/c car, you will need to drop the drivers side shroud cover to get to the flasher. Easy fix, just takes about 20 minutes to undo all the bolts. (9/32 or 7 mm) for the dash, 10mm for the nuts holding the kick panel.

Example : "The demand for the latest toy was off the charts."

92 grand Am 2.3 quad 4 Would a bad water pump cause coolant in oil or do you have a blown headgasket?

Waterpump would not cause this. Definitely a blown head gasket but be sure to change the water pump while you're in there or you'll have to do all that labor again in a few months. I know from experience. Get free online repair manual at autozone.com to help ya do it. Goodluck i beg to differ the water pumps on the quad 4's are known to be unreliable, and they do leek coolant into the oil when they break because it comes in around the shaft that powers the oil pump this is not an arguable point i have been working on quad fours for a while and i have seen many instances of this the water pumps on the twin cam engines are better but they still have the same problem they just last longer
