What are the disadvantages of a liquid cooled engine?
Heavier, more parts to make and maintain, liquid coolant can be corrosive to metals and can leak/ dry up. Must use antifreeze during cold weather.
Defective gasket, poor installation, warped head, heat. Heat is the major cause.

How to bleed Air lock in the heater core?
The engine temprature was low around 50 Celsius and had poor heat from the heater, I replaced the thermostat on my 2005 Jimmy and topped off the coolant levels. Everything seem to come back ok, Engine runing smoothly with good heat and engine just below 100 degree celcius. Then a couple of weeks later we got some real cold weather and ther was just lukewarm air coming from the air vent, engine still at 100 degree.with the engine turned off and just warm, I cut the return hose from the pump to the heater core spliced in a flush kit (hoses where empty) and proceeded to raise up and fill the the hose with premixed coolant DEX Cool. Had a few bubbles come up as I was filling and when it topped off i put the washer and cap on the bleed kit and drove the car for 20 minutes with good heat coming from the vents now.
Hope this helps

AC Compressor Bad Clutch is rattling on 1992 Saturn can you bypass with shorter belt?
Apparently you can. I'm in the process of doing this now on a 1997 sl2. The belt route diagram shows both routes. I believe you will lose the air dryer with the defrost setting but for a short term solution the cars back on the road. I also unplugged the clutch assemblyon the compressor. The new A/C clutch assembly is $142 and has to be ordered. I only found one parts store that will order it for me.
How do you bleed air pocket from cooling system?
drain the whole cooling system and refill it.
You will never know if you don't give details of your car!
The coolant reservoir serves as the radiator refill cap and has a bottom hose that leads to a drain hose connection directly below near the front passenger side tire. Pull the hose connection down and squeeze the hose clamp with a vise grip to allow the drain hose connection to be separated. I used a screwdriver to help loosen the end of the rubber hose from the connection. This can be done with the car parked normally on the ground. Now remove the coolant reservoir cap to break the vacuum. About one gallon of coolant will immediately drain out, so have a container ready to catch it. Reclamp the hose and refill the reservoir with the same amount of water you drained out. Drive the car and heat it up good a couple times, each time repeating the drain and refill above using distilled water (wait for the engine to cool sufficiently before draining!). After the last coolant system flush, refill with the reservoir with the new 50/50 concentration. PS: Since the Taurus coolant system capacity is about 11 quarts, use 100% antifreeze to refill the reservoir after the last drain to achieve the 50/50 water/coolant concentration recommended. when flushing the cooling system don't even go looking for the radiator drain just remove the lower rad hose ---the drain plug is dificult and too small to be of any value in a fllush job

At what mileage do you do change timing belt?
It is different for different engines and the mileage is given in the service manual. It is very important to make sure the timing belt is changed because if it breaks the engine is ruined.
As a rule of thumb, start checking around 60,000 to 90,000 miles.

Why would your car heater overheat?
I have a 1992 Plymouth Sundance with 130000 miles. 4 cyl, 2.0L It has been well taken care of with regular maintenance between 3k to 5k intervals since I bought it with 58k. The car instantly overheats when turned on. The heat blows frigidly cold air. It has a thermostat that is ~5 months old. The car will shudder and shake and then cut out when left idling or when it over heats. It is not losing coolant, but the car smells like burning antifreeze when you lift the hood. It will also steam and or smoke that escapes from under the hood when you turn it on. 1.) What are the possible diagnoses? 2.) How much will it cost? (Chicago area) 3.) Is it worth spending the money on a rebuilt car that I've had since high school, or should I just give up and buy a newer car? The most common cause of simultaneous engine overheating and no heat from the heater is extremely low engine coolant level, in other words a large pocket of air in the system. In some cars it's fairly easy to get the air out, in others it's very tricky. If there's a leak causing coolant loss, that will also have to be addressed or the problem will recur/worsen. Check 1. Your Thermostat (70%) of the time it is your thermostat. 2. Check and see if your radiator is clogged (Also very common).
Another issue is if your car overheats during idle, then it could be the electric radiator fan.
