How do you turn the lever to replace a headlight bulb on a VW Beetle 2008?
To turn the lever you can use a 1/4" drive ratchet, a 4-6" extension bar, and a 5mm socket. Alternately you could use a nutdriver with the same 5mm socket as long as the shaft is long enough to provide clearance for your hand. Turn the lever counter-clockwise 180 degrees to free the headlight housing. Use a long screwdriver, about 12" shaft, or a similarly long stick or other object to push down on the aluminum catch located behind the headlight housing. This catch can be seen by looking in the void immediately behind the battery box at the back of the headlight housing. It is a rectangular catch that will easily release when you press down. The headlight housing will then slide out of the front of the car by pushing from inside the engine compartment. Do not let it slide out and hit the ground. Slide it slightly forward and then stand in front and pull it the rest of the way out. Tools needed: 1/4" drive ratchet 6" or longer extension bar for the 1/4" drive ratchet 5 mm socket 12" or longer screwdriver, stick, or similar object alternately: 5 mm nutdriver with 6-8" shaft

Where do you get a replacement key for your 2000 Ford F150?
You can get a key at any decent locksmith shop in your area. The key has a Chip that has to be matched to the vehicle. You can only do this yourself if you have two keys that work on the vehicle. If you only have one key then you will have to take it to a ford dealer and have them reprogram the vehicle. There are probably car repair shops that have this computer but most likely a trip to the dealer is required.
How do you turn off the air bag light on a 1998 VW Beetle?
By having the SRS system repaired. Time for a trip to the dealer. Do not attempt to repair yourself. Serious injury can occur. remember tho it is under warentee for life as long as you have not been in an accedent
Follow-up: I don't believe this is warrantied for life in my experience. Here's what causes this issue on Beetle side airbags:
The receiving side of the seat-belt buckle - the side where the metal buckle plugs in - has 2 thin wires going into its base on a plug. These activate the side air bags in a collision. There is a wiring harness under the seat which connect them to the side air bag. In non-collision situations, these tend to separate for the following reasons: 1. They are too flimsy and normal use makes them separate. 2. The wiring harness under the seat is too short. This means that when you access the back seat, which causes the bucket seats to lift up and lean forward, it puts stress on the wires, causing them to separate and the side airbag light to come on. I had one repaired by the dealer at a cost of about $400. I never use the back seat, but after the repair, the first time I pulled the seats back to clean the rear leather seats, the side airbag light came on again. It may have been the passenger seat that caused it this time. The original poster is right: You can't fix this by splicing the wires back together because of extremely narrow tolerances on the electrical impulses. In my car, the broken wires did not cause the airbag to deploy. I am guessing that there are other sensors that have to receive signals in a collision situation. The dealer charges about $100 just to diagnose the problem. The fix is to replace the receiving end of the buckle and the harness. In my case, I could see the broken wires separated from the tiny plug at the base of the drivers seat where it entered the seat belt base, but the wires can break internally where the damage can't be seen. VW has a analytical computer program called VAG which can diagnose this problem. If you don't want to go to a dealer, many German car repair shops have the software. it also works on AUDI. This is different from a standard emissions OBII tester, which only checks emissions codes. You can buy the VAG software to use with a laptop, but as the original poster says, airbags aren't something for shade-tree mechanics to play with. This is just another example of VW problems that should have been subject to recall, but have not.
Switching out plugs and wires isn't going to do a whole lot if your losing power, it may stop an engine from misfiring or help it to be more efficient on fuel consumption but losing power, no. It could be the fuel filter if it loses power when you have over a 1/2 tank of gas. Otherwise, it could be your fuel pump, which is in the gas tank to keep it cool. Go to any of your local auto stores and have them hook up a diagnostic reader to your computer system--they will do it at no cost to you and see if it reads out a (bad throttle position sensor) or something else.
How do you remove the exterior handle of the sliding door on a 1988 Chevy Vandura 20?
I'm not sure if a "88 Vandura is the same as a 91 Chevy G20 but here goes anyway... Once you've removed the side sliding door interior handle and cover plate you will notice a square "rod" sticking through the middle of the door hardware. This "rod" is where the interior door handle was attached. It goes through a round piece that holds the door hardware together. The square "rod" is an extension of the exterior door handle. No matter how hard you try,you can not pull the exterior door handle off of its shaft. The only way to remove the handle is cut it off but you don't want to do that. It is possible to remove the exterior door handle and shaft from the hardware but it ain't easy....... Here's what you do..... The exterior door handle and hardware were assembled at the Chevy plant and not meant to come apart or break for that matter. That is why it is so difficult to remove the exterior handle and shaft....it was "pressed in" at the factory.... What you do is get a small "bearing puller" that will fit around the shaft and against the handle. Also get 2 6" pieces of redi rod that screw into the bearing puller. Get 2 nuts for each redi rod. You'll also need something to protect your door when you screw down on it with the redi rod. I used 2 pieces of 1/8" sheet metal about 8" long and 4" wide. Maybe something thin like cardboard or sheet rubber should be used between the sheet metal and door to protect the paint. Once you've got it set up just turn the bolts on the redi rod and it will slowly come out. You may want to give the rod a tap with a hammer once in a while..... When you get the unit out, you can file all sides down so it will go back in easier. You don't have to file much. Keep the corners square. Don't give up, you can do it.....
How is power transmitted from the front wheel to rear wheel on a motorcycle?
There is no power to the front wheel of a motorcycle but there are several ways that power is transmitted from the engine to the rear wheel. The engine is connected to a transmission which converts engine torque and rpm into a usable and variable gear rotation which is then transferred to the rear wheel by chain, belt, or direct gear drive or automatic transmission. The difference in the size of the front and rear sprockets and the gear ratio in the transmission determine low speed torque and top speed. The most common is chain drive, it is in all off road motorcycles because of its ease of maintenance, durability, and flexibility for suspention travel it is rather noisy though. Belt drive is found in a lot of cruisers like harley Davidson that don't require much suspention travel and where a slightly quieter ride is desireable, Lastly on the luxury bikes you might find where manufacturers have utilized a driveshaft of sorts that is directly connected to the transmission for the quietest ride available.
What is the value of a 1973 super beetle?
A value can't really be put on a car until you know more about it. The value could range from 100 bucks to 10,000 dollars! It depends on the interior, engine, transmission, brakes, rust, body, title, etc. You'd HAVE to have more information to get a reliable answer.

Thanks for the most useless answer in all creation.
You told us a bunch of words that sounded good, revealed nothing at all about the real answer, seemed to provide advice while being most unhelpful, and wasted everyone's time.
In other words, you told me what I already know, while trying to make yourself appear smart, but actually made yourself appear dumb.
I guess I'll go check antique car bluebook. Thanks for wasting my time!

99 beetle heater fan not working?
Could be a number of issues. Does it run at any speed? If one of the speeds work, but not all, it is the step resistor. If the fan doesn't run at all it could be a blown fuse. Check the fuse block and see if it's a blown fuse. Could be anything from a bad motor (frozen bushing or some kind of overload condition), to a pinched wire, to something that fell into the vent and hit the fan blade and froze the motor causing an overload condition leading to a blown fuse. Simply replacing the fuse may not necessarily correct for the condition.

How do you replace check engine light in VW new beetle?
I'm assuming you want to change the bulb? If so it's behind the dash cluster and you will have to get in there to replace it. If the problem is that the light is on you will have to get a diagnostic (scan) done on the car to find out the problem and correct the problem so the light goes off.
What is wrong if your car's high beams work but not the low beams?
check fuses, if good, possibly burnt bulbs or wires, check for voltage at wires.

Where is brake booster located on a 2000 Volkswagen beetle?
It is located behind the airbox on the left side of the engine compartment. It is setting back behind the brake master cylinder on the firewall.
Where is TC Clutch Solenoid Circuit on a 2001 vw beetle?
The TC Clutch Solenoid Circuit
could be a wiring problem related to the Clutch Solenoid
which is mounted on the transmission of most every car, even VW's.
The
controls the Torque Converter which is a donut shaped device filled with transmission fluid that the transmission relies on to function properly. The Torque Converter is located inside the Transmission so the Transmission has to be removed to replace it. MAJOR BUCKS.
Most of the time an engine code P0740 is given and a do it yourself mechanic should change the transmission fluid and filter, then the Transmission Solenoid. If you also have a Code P0720 you should replace the Output Speed Sensor, maybe both speed sensors because the input will likely go out soon.
Speed sensors range in the $20 to $30 each price range and the Transmission Solenoid runs around $300. That's what they cost in my Chrysler Mini van. If that does not fix your problem, you might need wiring harness replaced or the Transmission rebuilt, at least the Torque Converter Replaced.
Hope this helps.
How do you change the cabin filter on a 2001 VW Beetle?
This information is listed in your owner's manual. Don't have one, get one. Dealer, salvage yard, e-bay, Google Search.
AnswerI don't think it's in the owners manual. The most complicated mechanical answer in there is "how do I change a tire".:-) For anything else, all they say is "go to your authorized VW repair center"
Better off getting a Bently manual for you car. I'm sorry, I don't have an answer for you. I'm looking myself. I have a 2003 Jetta, it's fairly simple for it, but I think the NB is different.
Joe Fisher
AnswerPush the center piece, on the dash, forward until it unsnaps and exposes the screws for the passenger side piece. Take the piece off and you will see the filter bracket down in the dash. Remove the filter and replace with new one.
