Open the hood. Remove at least the right (left looking from bumper) windshield wiper while in parked position. Then remove plastic clips that hold plastic cowl cover in place. The plastic clips are removed by pressing down on the center with a pointed object like the edge of a screw driver. This detents the locking part of the clip and allows its removal. The filter is on the left rear side when looking from the front to the back of the engine compartment. Lift up on the plastic cowl on the left hand side and you will have access to the filter. The filter has two clips, one on the left front side and one on the right side. Release clips (look at the new filter to see how they work), pull out and then replace with new filter. Reinstall cowl, wiper and then the clips. The clips are reset for use by pushing the locking pin back up above the top surface, and then pushing back down to flush after installed. Make sure the cowl rubber lips fit under the window as they did originally.

Depends on the diameter of your intake bolts. For 5/16" bolts torque is 23-25 ft lbs, 3/8" bolts are 28-32 ft lbs, and the 1/4" bolts are torqued 6-9 ft lbs.

That's probably a question you should ask a lawyer. With all the technical jargon who knows. However, if it was a recall and that particular car never received the work I would think they would be responsible for it. It kind of depends on whether or not the recall had an expiration date.

Filter is located on the right side of the engine compartment sitting out on the fender well. If you can locate a black box about 12 inches square it is in there. Remove the 4 screws holding the top and lift off the top now you should see it.

This Vehicle Should Have A 4.6 V8 Northstar 300 Horsepower Engine. They Installed These In This Year And Model. And Yes The Starter Is Under The Intake. It Isn`t That Easy To Do, Even For Those That Know How. If You Try To Do This Youself, Remember To Take Your Time. Lable Ignition Wires, Plus Other Connections. And Also These Two Things. According to K&N cleaning instructions: 1. Tap the element to knock off any loose debris and brush lightly with a soft bristle brush. 2. Either spray K&N Air Filter Cleaner liberally onto the filter element and let soak for 10 minutes, or the filter can be rolled or soaked in a shallow pan of K&N Air Filter Cleaner and removed immediately to soak for 10 minutes (leave the filter in the pan only long enough to saturate the filter). 3. Rinse the filter from clean side to the dirty side (to push the dirt out rather than further into the filter) with low pressure tap water. 4. Shake off excess water and let the filter air dry. All other drying methods may damage the filter and will void the filter warranty. EITHER 5a. After the filter is totally dry, spray K&N Air Filter Oil along each pleat, once only, with the nozzle 3" (7.5 cm) away from the filter. Don't over-oil. OR 5b. After the filter is totally dry, squeeze K&N Air Filter Oil along each pleat, once only. Don't over-oil. 6. Apply K&N Filter Oil carefully to any visible white spots and let stand for 20 minutes. Then wipe the gasket/sealing surface clean with clean cloth or paper towel, prior to installation, to remove excess oil. DON'T over-oil the filter. Over-oiling can interfere with proper engine and component performance. If over-oiling occurs (oil is draining or dripping from the filter after standing 20 minutes), K&N recommends that the cleaning and oiling process, as above, .be repeated

The vacuum system on a vehicle serves many purposes. A cracked air hose could most definitely cause an engine sputter.

It would be wise to replace the intake gasket with a new one than to try to fix the old one. How long it would take to replace the gasket would depend on the model, year and engine type you have.

Remember that there is no such thing as a "normal" leak. Sometimes water condensation will build-up on the AC pipes and drip-off, but there's not a "leak" involved. Get your manifold gasket replaced ASAP. It costs money but it's worth it. I've had mine replaced about 5 years ago and it still runs great.

It's easy: on the 2007, 2008, 2009 Tundra and the 2003 4 Runner are all in the same place. I suspect it's the same for most Tundras and 4 runners. However replacement instructions come with the new cabin air filter when you buy it.

For the 2007, 8 ,9 and 2003 4 runner, it is behind the lower glove box. Just open glove box disconnect the little piston rod on the right side then squeeze in the side supports so the glove box will open way down. The cabin filter it right behind the glove box. You will see a snap on door that covers the filter. Pull it off and slide out the filter.

The car engine air filter is below the intake plenum. remove the plenum to the throttle body and underneath to the actual air filter housing. Pull back the three quick clips and there it is.

First, you'll need the gaskets. These include the upper and lower intake gaskets, as well as the valve cover gaskets. You'll also need a 1 1/16" wrench to remove the EGR nut located on the driver's side of the block. Start by marking all electrical connections, plugs, etc. with a grease marker. Next, remove the alternator, radiator hoses, and cold air intake. You'll also have to unbolt the throttle bracket that hold the throttle lines in place. Then, remove the upper intake manifold by unbolting all six bolts that hold it in place. You will more than likely have to unbolt the AC compressor and move it forward, because you'll need the room. Make sure to remove the coil pack bracket located on the passenger's side of the block, too. Now comes the fun (actually, not so fun) part. Unbolt both fuel lines and unclip all the fuel injector sensors (be sure to mark their locations). Next, remove the valve covers. Then, remove the lower intake. It is not necessary to remove the fuel rail. To replace the gaskets on all parts, make sure to scrape the block and lower intake to remove all old gasket material. Also, stuff some shop rags into the lower intake ports (in the engine block) to stop any gasket debris from entering the engine. Then, simply replace to gaskets (drop some ORV sealant on all four corners for lower intake mating surface) and put everything back together. Be very careful with the sensor clips, though. They're extremely brittle and will break without much force.
