If you have an alarm on your car, make sure there isn't a kill switch on it.
Can the camshaft position cause your vehicle not to fire if code reads malfunction?
Yes, the camshaft position is critical for both compression and ignition reference. That is valve timing. But there is no code to tell you your valve timing is off. There is a Camshaft Position Sensor, check for voltage at the connector, broken wiring or corrosion and then ohm out or replace the sensor. Get e repair manual and learn about your car, you'll save money, I promise...
Where can you find instructions for the installation of the starter on a Pontiac Bonneville?
At your local library
What does it mean when dodge stratus wont start on first try?
There are a few things that it could be if you Dodge Stratus wont start on first try. It could be the starter.
It sounds like your fuel pump is bad. try taking the fuel line loose from the carb and turning it over. If no fuel comes out, replace the filter and try again. Still no fuel, replace the pump. You've got to get fuel to the carb.
your coil pack might be going bad
I put a new ecm in a 1990 eagal talon.but it wont start now.what can be the problem?
Are you sure that the ECM was the problem??? Did you get the correct one for your eagal?? This is what you have to be sure of first. Did you reset the computer? Remove the battery cable and wait a few secounds and then reattach it.
I have the same problem whit my Honda fourtrax 300 1992. I think that its related to the carburetor but I'm not sure though...
WHAT IF WE jump started your car wrong?
You would fry the vehicles computer and risk a possible explosion of the battery.
87 Pontanic SubBird turn the key switch and dash lights don't come on and will not turn motor over?
dead battery ???
A whirring noise is indicative of trouble with the starter drive (also known as the bendix) which is usually replaceable. Before you undertake the chore of replacing it, check the price of a new or rebuilt starter - it may be worth it to just repkace the starter.
1997 Chevy cavalier fuel pump relay readin 25v on pin 87?
Fuel pump started making lower sounding noise when priming and wouldn't prime after a while. Let is set over night and it primed once and ran it for an hour, but didn't prime the rest of the day. Did this same thing for 3 days, but now it never primes.
Checked fuses and swapped relays and tried to jump pin 87 to 30 and still would not prime. Testing the fuel pump relay socket I get strange readings on pin 87, which I believe is the input pin from the battery, pin 30 is output. When I tested the AC relay socket I get 12V on pin 87, but get strange readings like 25V sometimes more on pin 87 on the fuel pump relay socket.
I know what a job it is the replace the in-tank fuel pump, I replaced it 4 years ago. This time it has a full tank of gas. I'm almost sure the fuel pump has gone bad but want to fix the cause of the problem this time.
I don't want to ruin another fuel pump and these readings are worrying me. Any ideas?
How you bypass to get it start will not start with key light keep flashing?
take a screwdriver and touch the screws of the starter solenoid together
What does clicking sound when trying to start indicate?
A weak battery. There is not enough voltage to hold the starter solonoid in.
it may be the fuel pump
go to a mechanic?
How do you replace a fuel pump on a 2000 Ford E150 cargo van?
Dump the gas tank out of it. the fuel pump there.
When 1997 Saturn sl starter clicks?
The single click, that you hear when the starter switch is operated, is the solenoid making the high tension connection to the starter motor. If the starter motor doesn't turn over, you will need to check both the battery feed to the solenoid and the feed from the solenoid to the starter motor (this is typically a short length of braided cable). I have known this cable to corrode through. If it has, the easiest remedy, is to replace the entire starter motor.
most likely it is your fuel pump the same thing happened to my 1999 mercuy sable
if your talking about when your cranking the engine over with the cap off, then you have a broken distributor gear or shaft or bad camshaft gear.
Do you have a modern car equipped with a computer? Somtimes if a car is welded on and the - battery cable isn't disconnected, it can damage sensitive computer components. This could be a very costly and difficult thing to diagnose and repair. Chris
What would keep a car from starting after short drives and then start after waiting 30 minutes?
First does the motor turn over but not fire ?If yes then there are a few possibilities: an injector could be leaking. When the engine is turned off, the fuel that is pressurized in the fuel line could be leaking into the throttle body or intake manifold (whichever yours has) and flooding the engine. If that's the case, the only solution is to have the injector cleaned or replaced or possibly a little injector cleaner through the next tank MAY make a difference, but don't count on it.
If the motor does not turn over (will not crank ) the second possibility, overheated component. Many electrical components heat up when they are in use and if there are transistors or other electronic parts that fail when hot, the component may run fine while cool and while air is flowing but once it warms up the component fails. The list could include the fuel pump, relay or ignition components. If the starter is covered in oil ( how almost every starter fails ) it is probably your problem . Also old distributor caps and rotors can run fine (from a cold start) but not start once hot .
could be the timing belt if it is broken it will turn over all day but wont start could also be fuel pump and filter it the pump is bad or the filter is severly clogged you will have the same problem
