Was that the only code that caused you to replace it? Do you have it close enough to sense again.
How to install Semi-truck starter?
Too broad of a question to answer without knowing the make of your truck, and the motor which is in it.
battery needs charged or replaced. not to detract from the other guys answer, but you could also be experiencing a poor connection coming from the starter terminals or possibly have a faulty relay.
check compression you probably got it so hot that the piston rings are not sealing, you can put a couple squirts of oil in eash of the spark plug holes and see if compression raises
Check the battery, it might be low. A low battery can be caused by either an old, worn out battery or by a faulty alternator. If the alternator isn't putting electrical energy into the battery, the battery won't get charged. After all, a battery is only an electrical STORAGE device.
If your battery is fine, you might have a weak starter. You should also check your ignition switch. Try disconnecting it, and then touching the female end to the battery. This grounds out the circuit, should start your car for you, and tells you your battery and starter are perfectly fine.
Where to do you find the starter on 99 ford ranger 3.0 liter v6 engine?
The starter is usually located on the passenger side, under and to the rear of the engine where it bolts up to the flywheel housing. You will recognize it by the red cable and small wire that connect to it. Good luck
What could be wrong with a 1994 Ford Explorer that wont turn on and the headlights keep flashing?
The flashing lights are probably the factory alarm.
Can you wait for a battery that has run down to recharge enough to start a vehicle?
That depends on how dead the battery is, condition of the battery, weather, etc. A good battery that hasn't dropped too far below 12.0 Volts (12.0 is officially 'dead') will continue to sulfate and increase the electrolyte levels to a certain extent. If these levels are raised high enough, your voltage will raise also. Depending on the load required to start your car, the battery may recover enough on it's own to provide you with one last start. Also, temperature plays a big part in how fast a battery sulfates. Hydrometer readings can vary greatly from a cold day to a warm day. If your battery dies at 3 AM while it's 35 degrees outside, but later it warms to a balmy 80 degrees, you certainly have a better chance.
As always though, it's usually better not to let this happen in the first place. And I wouldn't want to bet on a battery's 'natural' recovery. Lead Acid batteries can be a funny animal, and no two are the same.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but if you can spray gas in the intake and it runs for
a few seconds it sounds like you are getting spark but you are still not getting gas
So listing the reasons I can think of why you wouldn't be getting gas :
- no gas in tank ( sorry ! I just start with the basics )
- fuel line still doesn't have fuel in it ( cycle the key between the run and off positions a few times )
- fuel pump not running ( inertia switch tripped , bad fuse , bad fuel pump relay , bad fuel pump , bad electrical connection )
- clogged fuel filter ( do you have fuel pressure at the engine test port ? )
- anybody else have any ideas ?
Usually this means the battery is worn out and there isn't enough charge to turn over the starter
Why does 1978 Ford F-250 starter cables get so hot and wont start?
Get a new starter. It's gone bad and is trying to draw too much power and can cause a fire.
How to change voltage regulator on 2001 Monte Carlo?
To change the voltage regulator on almost all modern GM cars, replace the alternator. The regulator is inside the alternator, and is not considered a field servicable part.
Why does my car start bucking when driving on the highway?
Weak fuel pump?
Bad fuel/air filter?
Water in fuel?
Does your 2000 Saturn have spark plugs?
Yes, it sure does. The only vehicle that does not have spark plugs are vehicles with diesel engines.
Why would a car fail to start if the battery is in working order?
There can be several problems if a car will not start. Does the motor turn over? That means, does the starter engage the flywheel and turn the crankshaft. It is the normal sound you hear when you first turn the key to start the car. If that isn't happening, you would look at the starter first. Make sure it is engaging the flywheel and trying to turn. Sometimes a battery with low voltage will get the starter to engage, but not enough to turn the flywheel. If the starter is good, but the flywheel does not turn, the crankshaft might be bound up. This is usually due to a bad motor. If the crankshaft turns, and it just cranks and cranks, then it's either fuel or spark. Check to make sure you have gas in the car. The fuel pump can be bad, or a fuel filter. If that's good, you have to check the spark plugs and distributor and/or coils. That is a bit tricky for a novice so it's best to have a mechanic look at it. Unless your willing to brave 40,000 volts.
What happends when car wax is put in car gas tank?
The inside of the gas tank will shine like new, but the fuel lines, fuel pump, and engine will be need to be cleaned out.
I have the same problem with my 1999 Durango. I've noticed that it happens mainly when it is hot outside. Last mechanic that I had look at it decided that it must be the computer. Her referred me to a Dodge dealership. Haven't made it there yet.
Good luck
Wont start with new fuel pump on 1988 dodge ram van?
Check the engine sensors. I changed all the engine sensors on my 1996 Dodge Ram Van and it vehicle only started when I changed the Flywhel sensor on the bellhousing and it was also the cheepest sensor to buy.
My auto mechanic scanned the on board computer but this did not show up the problem sensor. he had a spate of Chrysler group vehicles in with this same problem and it turned out to be the Flywheel sensor and for some reason Chrysler do not put this sensor into the on board computer checking system and did not show a fault code on the OBD.
sounds like you need a new starter could be several things; 1. Check the battery Voltatge >10V. 2. Check the Starter and Starter Sloinoid (Take to Kragen or other parts store to test. 3. Check the Voltage coming out of your Alt. Should Be ~13V (If car is running). Does the car run if you jump it? My guess it probaly the Battery (May need charged) or Altanator not charging to proper voltage.
I get a single click from the starter but it will not crank what is my problem?
your battery is dead or the starter solenoid
Why does the third starter still only click on starting a 92 Saturn SC?
The reason it's clicking is because your battery is dead. Replace the battery and you're good to go. It just isn't providing enough juice to turn the starter over correctly.
sounds like the factory anti theft system is armed. 2 ways to properly disarm---either with the factory remote pushing unlock or turning either front door outside lock with the proper key. If you dont have either, you must be the thief.
Why would a car shut off and then when i try to start it the lights come on but it doesn't crank?
there is somthing blocking the magnito or its broken (the magneto)
What is the fuel pressure on a 1994 mercury villager?
With key on engine off 23-31 psi
With engine idling 13-20 psi
You will not harm the car as long as you put in a switch to turn the power off after you turn off the vehicle.
