that's not how you relese pressure on the caliper. you disconnect the brake fluid hose from the caliper and that will relese the pressure. if the caliper still won't move then you need to take the caliper apart and clean it good because the piston is most likely getting stuck.

no their are suttle differences ,most 4.8 have a 4l60-e tranny as do the 4.3 v6 jimmy's blazers e.t.c,but they do have suttle differences,such as tail shaft length in some,the bell housings are different,the shift arm maybe a different design,and the gear ratio of the transmission would be different,aswell as speed sensors+locations

Standing in front of engine : Right side front to rear is 1-3-5-7

Left side front to rear is 2-4-6-8

FIREING ORDER IS 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

there should be one on a decal under the hood. otherwise look in the apropriate copy of "motor manual" or "chilton's" or a factory manual

go to your public library. Ask person in the tech section for auto manuals. They cannot leave the library but you can make copies. Some Motor brand auto repair manuals also have the diagrams. Read the classified ads in newspapers for used cars/trucks matching yours. when you find a match to yours go look at it with pen and paper. sketch the layout and write notes. Yes, there is no difference in block size between a 2 or a 4 bolt bolt 350 in '83, although depending what was in the car before, say a 6, you may have some engine mounting, trans issues, cooling, bracketing, and of course exhaust, hopefully the "2" bolt is a carburetor engine, and of the earlier 8 cylinder design, not a newer generation engine, or your looking at allot more issues.

Broken oil pump, plugged sump, disconnected or broken oil pump shaft. Also, if I recall correctly this is driven off a lobe on the camshaft. I would doubt that the camshaft would wear flat or that a broken camshaft would not show itself in other more extreme ways. Perhaps a broken thrust bearing on the end of the camshaft may cause it to drift enough to lose connection, but I would bet the first sentence would cover the problem. Hopefully pulling the pan would explain what is going on.

Very little, if any at all. The carburetor is not what makes the horse power, The rotateing system and Valve train is what makes HP.

The fuse pannel is probaly located on the steering wheel on the left side that's were mine is on my 1994 Chevy.

Most of those had the 7.5" 10 bolt.

You would hook to the negative side of the coil. Some HEI distributor caps are marked "tach".

Use a new head gasket for a template. The larger hole should be 1/4", and the smaller one should be 3/16".

Pull out the transmission dipstick and put the fluid in there. There are special funnels available for this purpose.

make sure the throtle cable is adjusted correctly

u need a fan clutch tool or a strap wrench to hold the pulley and a wrench take off the nut
