fuel gauge not working and power windows and radio.2004 mercury mountaineer.

I just bought a Pontiac Montana 2004 and dont know how to close the rear windows

Sometimes with some windows you can pull up on the glass and it will raise a quarter of an inch. Hit the button and the motor will run that much. Do this again until the window is up. If that doesn't work, you can take the door panel off and take the window loose from the regulator. There should be two bolts holding the window to the regulator. Slide the glass up and block it up or tape it.

Get a manual on your car from the parts store and it will tell you haow to remove the door panel if necessary plus tell you how the wiring runs. You just have to trace the voltage.

Motor may be OK but it sounds like the window came off its track; possibly because of a defective slide. In any case you will need to remove the door panel to check it out. Remove any screws holding panel onto door; disconnect battery; unhook any power locks,window switches, etc., as they become accessable. The doorpanel is usually held at the edges by plastic clips, remove them slowly as not to break them. switches give more trouble than other items, make sure first there is no blown fuse, if there is a blown fuse and if replace it blows again, either a wire or motor is shorted to ground. then door panel needs opening

It is on the right side just in front of the bell housing. It is held on with two bolts. Remove the cables to it at the right front fender well, and take out the two bolts.

Use a waterproof insulator once you find the break. I used a butt splice with heat shrink tubing. To find the break, see this link. According to my wiring diagram the windows are not individually fused. If the other windows are working your answer lies most likely with the motor on that window.

My owners manual shows a drawing of the fuse and box and it doesn't look like the actual fuse box. The diagram show 4 relays and the actual fuse box only has three. This makes me wonder if any of the diagram is correct.

My problem is the power windows (all of them) quit today and I check all the fuses, they where all good. I also found out that there is a problem with this model breaking ground wires in the door and in the rubber insulating that crosses from the door into the vehicle body.

If you or anyone else find out or figure out anything about this let me know.

in my trail blazer i took the whole switch assembly apart and discovered that a miny diode had fried. It is a matter of replacing the switch assembly.

The power window fuse in a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta is located above the relays. The relay/fuse box is usually located near the steering wheel.

Prices for labor vary with what part of the country you live in. Call a couple of local body shops for extimates.

Hey Ron==This is a pretty big job and unless you are a pretty good mechanic I suggest you take it to an auto trim shop. The trim has to come off of the door then you have undoo the linkage that holds the window and there are very sharp places inside the doors. If you want to tackle it I suggest you get a manual that shows this repair. You will have it for the next repair. GoodluckJoe

The led light in the window switch is not replaceable. It is only serviced with the entire switch.

i would first check to see if power window master switch is good usually if more than one window doesnt work, that's where the problem isfords also have a lock on the master switch for windows other than driver window. check that is not engaged

a battery or a power box by your house.

I'm having the same problem with my 2000 Chevy Malibu. I took the switch apart, noticing that the plastic piece that rocks back & forth on the middle of the base, that seperates the contacts has melted. I used the end of a q-tip minus the cotton to push the contacts down for the up position. The window went up. I'm going to replace the swith.

remove master switch from door. remove wire harness from back of switch. with a jumper wire brige wires until window raises. then buy new master switch and replace
