how to take the door panel off of a 1997 mercury marquis

I don't know if there is one. If the wipers aren't working, you might have a problem with the multifunction switch, or the wiper motor may be gone.

remove panelling of the door. look at the bottom for the screws attached to the glass and put them back in the holes on the metal track on the bottom. fix the rubber guides on the side so that nothing blocks the way of the glass. keep the screws on the glass, that you put in the whole, sort of loose to adjust for centering. careful, it might pop out sometimes. you might have to unscrew the bolts that hold the rubber guides up, in order to put the glass in. this depends on how messed up your window/door/galss is. once everything is on track, tighten screws on the bottom of the track were you put into the wholes, and tighten. test the window before you put everything back. adjust if neccessary, then put everything back. this was on a 99 civic hatchback dx. might be different for other cars, but this is the back idea.

after the door panel is off look @ the metal (closely) about where the motor is AND U will find 3 Dimples in a Triangle pattern, Drill the Dimples out 2 about 1/2 inch.Behind the Dimpes are (3) 5/16 screws(bolts) remove the bolts & wire,then out comes the motor-u might have 2 pry it just a little-b sure 2 check the replacement motor B 4 U install it in the door.(the wires will reach)

No, not without removing the door panel to gain access to the motor unit.

First determine the problem Remove door panel to see if power is getting to motor--if so motor is bad--if not could be switches or wiring to same

Check to see if you are getting power to the window motor- if so motor is bad If not check switch and wiring to same. Common problem is an open wire in the door hinge area

Removal of the inner door panel is needed. You will see 4 bolts holding the motor in. Its easier to have a power source and leads to connect to the motor so that you can move the arm as you see fit. The motor slides thrugh the door with a little muscle and patience :)

Oh man... this is the same problem with my wifes F150. If you drill through the inner door sheet metal or plastic you can access the final of three rivets. To remove the motor you have to drill out the rivets. Get a rebuilt motor for about $80 (ouch) and reassemble with the nuts and bolts that were included in the box, that replace the rivets. I think I had to cut the wires and solder up the original connector to the motr. The wires were color coded. You can try to remove the window and regulator as an asembly.. but you would be a fool. Drill. It'll take you under a half hour.

common probem with the 190e class vehicles. he problem is he motor and regulator assembly. find a used one in the wrecking yard and replace the complete assembly with cable regulator and motor. good luck

check for broken wires in the door and check for pawer across the switch drive safe

The panel where the regulator is detachable. You will be able to remove it very easily. When you remove the panel you will see the way how the regulator can be replaced.

I just tried to fix mine and got the panel off ok after removing 3 very well hidden screws. Then drilled out studs for the motor and the whole window assembly came down. Off to dealership to get them to do it as Im totally lost now! So becare if you dont really know what your doing!

you have to go to ford to buy a new window regulator, if you take the panel off, its a piece of metal with a cable and a motor on it, the whole thing needs to be taken out and replaced, about 154 dollars from ford.

If you're talking about the rear side windows, you take the hardtop off. If you're talking about the front windows, you use the crank on the door. u don't. u take them off.

the motor might be bad on that side or there is just lose wiring. you will have to take off the door panel to find out which problem is causing this.

Sometimes if you're pretty mechanically inclined you can actually remove the motor itself only & disassemble the armature assembly & clean all the contacts & reassemble opposite it being taken apart, & it has worked for me at least 8 out of 10 vehicles I've performed that on.

I just replaced the motor and cables. I would suggest to have window down all the way and you will not have a problem changing out. It cost me 40 dollars at junk yard and took about 2 hours for everything. I would not suggest to take cables out of motor. Very difficult to replace cables with out right tools. I tried this and gave up on it because of difficulty in getting cables back in correct order. Hope this will help.
