Why will your steering wheel not return to center after turning?

The most likely cause is a bad steering rack. The valves inside the rack could be stuck, broken or blocked. You could also have a bad strut(s) or ball joints that are binding the steering linkage. It could also be bad or broken motor mounts.

Though less likely, it could be the bearings inside the steering column are binding up, or something pressing against the shaft and keeping it from turning freely. The most likely problem is the steering rack.

How do you replace the headlights in a 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette?

you have to pop the hood and look at the mounting brackets there is i believe 2 or 3 wing nuts on the top along the hood latch mount. take them off so your whole headlight casing comes out but make sure you do this slowly and pay attention because there are little holes that are guides for putting the mount back in. once you have done that then all you do is twist the black knob and the light pops out. all done. after that it is pretty easy. same system for the signal markers.

Can you put a straight-6 in a bronco II. How difficult is it?

Are you referring to the 300I6 that came in fullsize Ford Broncos? Yes, you can, but it's very difficult. The 300I6 is a long engine, and the Bronco II has a short engine bay. Often, it will require aftermarket electric fans (since the stock fan will go into the grill), and a lift on the Bronco II to help the oil pan clear the frame.

As with all engine's being transplanted into a vehicle they never were intended for, a lot of other custom work will need to be done as well.

That being said, they'd make a fantastic engine for the Bronco II.

How do you remove the ignition cylinder on a 1992 Toyota 4 Runner without a key the key broke in the cylinder?

Step 1, remove lower left corner trim piece, just snaps out.

Step 2 remove 2 screws behind hood release lever and 2 bolts on lower left and right of trim panel under steering wheel, panel then pops out.

Step 3 remove 2 bolts and take out metal frame under trim panel from step 2.

Step 4 insert key, move to accessory position, insert 1/8" rod into hole on bottom of lock housing and push while pulling on key, lock pops out. Installation of new lock, insert key to acc position and shove it into lock housing. Reinstall trim and you are done.

You can get the new lock rekeyed at a locksmith or Toyota before installing.

Can a 1974 5.9L 360 Chrysler engine fit into a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 that originally had a 3.9L engine?

I just read that the original LA design motors are basically the same as the 90's era magnum motors. there was a change with the Hemi motors. I have a 96 ram with a 5.9 L 360 and am currently working on getting as much info as I can, to putt an 80's era 360 from a motor home into my truck, it has a brand new motor. mine has 200 plus thousand miles and a front main seal leak. good luck with your truck.

Can you see a diagram of how the wires hook to the starter cylinoid on the firewall of a 95 b-2300?

Assuming you are talking about a 1995 Mazda B2300, a red wire from the battery goes to the solenoid on the starter, then a red wire goes from the solenoid to the starter relay which is normally located between the battery and the power distribution box in the engine compartment. A red/light blue wire from the relay connects to the transaxle range (TR) switch (if it's an automatic transm)and a pink wire connects from the TR switch to the starter clutch pedal position jumper/switch (SCPP). From the SCPP, a white/pink or red/light blue wire connects to the starter interrupt relay. From there, the red/light blue wire connects to your ignition switch. Hope this helps. At any rate, I recommend that you purchase a Haynes repair manual for your particular model. I always purchase one for every vehicle I ever buy.

Do bronco ll have convertible tops?

I own a 1987 Bronco II 4x4 XL with a 2.9l V6 engine that was converted when new to a convertible. I have the original window cost sticker. At the bottom it says Memo Consignment Sherrod Van Lines at Florence Tx. As I understand it Sherrod did the conversions. I have seen pictures on the internet of one other 1988 Bronco II convertible and it too came from Sherrod. So at least a few have convertible tops

How do you get a 1989 Ford Bronco 2 to start when you have replaced the battery and the starter relay and it makes noises like a pump is running and then it quits?

I'm just shooting in the dark here, but it sounds like when you turn the ignition key to RUN your pump comes on for 1-2 sec then shuts off automatically? It's functioning correctly. However, if you turn the ign key to START, crank the engine and the pump doesn't come on again, then your EEC possibly is not receiving a PIP signal. Shoot a little starting fluid into the throttle body and crank the engine. If it fire's then your EEC is getting a PIP signal and the ignition system is working. If nothing happens, troubleshoot your ignition system and once that's fixed, then your fuel pump will begin working on it's own again.

Answer

I have a 89 bronco2 with the same problem. It's the fuel pump that you here running. In my case I can't get it to stop running. I think we have a short somewhere or a bad relay. The fuel pump should kick on when you turn the key on but in my case as soon as I touched the positive battery cable to the post it came on and would not shut off.I am still looking for the problem but have narrowed it down to the pump or the wiring on the fuel system.

Where can you find information about dropping a tank and replacing the fuel pump in a 1999 Tahoe?

Maybe scrolling thru the rest of the pages, where about 80% of the same question is answered may help. There are many that have detailed answers.

How do you replace the ignition cylinder on a 1987 Camry?

I replace the ignition cylinder on a car I had a couple of years ago. From what I was told, it's generally the same procedure on most cars. You have to remove the steering wheel. You'll need a special tool to take it off. A lot of auto stores will loan you the tool for free. Make sure you mark the alignment of the wheel on the column. If you don't, the steering wheel will not be 'straight' after you put it back on. On my car, the cylinder was right under the wheel. I think it was held in place with a couple of screws. Changing it was really easy. Just pull the old one out and put the new one in. If you have to take apart any of the steering column, take your car to a mechanic to have the cylinder replaced. I've been told that dissassembling the steering column can be a real mess to put back together!
