How do you get the rear hub off your 1998 Dodge Caravan?

After you remove the rear brake drums, & brake shoes from the backing plate, there are 4 Torx bolts that hold the entire hub assembly on the axle. These generally require alot of swearing & sweat to remove if they're frozen in the axle. The hub assembly most generally has to be pursueded out of the axle with a 5lb hammer. The new one will go back in about 100 times easier than the one you removed.

How do you fix a brake light on your 2001 Grand Cherokee Limited that comes on when putting on the low or high beam lights but do not come on while braking at anytime although you put in new bulbs?

Fixed this problem yesterday myself with the help of another website. Below is the fix. Good luck. Web site is www.carsurvey.org I own a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I too had the same problem on the left tail light/brake light. Thanks to this website, I've regained my sanity (and stopped changing lightbulbs). Additionally, I was not going to pay for a part unless I absolutely had to, and I was able to repair the light with info from this website. In return, I thought I'd post how I did it. 1. Remove the tail light assembly. Most of you know how to remove the light assembly if you've changed bulbs, so I won't cover that. 2. disconnect the wiring harness by sliding the red locking clip to the side in order to press the side of the male connector and pull apart. 3. Once you've got the tail assembly away from the vehicle and on a bench, remove the light socket for the tail/brake light. You will see 3 silver contact points inside the black plastic ring. 2 are grouped together and there is one that is opposite of the 2. The one by itself is the ground; the other two are the contacts for the tail light and brake light. The problem lies with the ground connector. (BTW, I tested continuity with all lights and contacts including the turn signal and the reverse light to verify that the circuit board itself was good, and it was). 4. clean all contacts with a Q-Tip and some sort of contact cleaner - rubbing alcohol will work. 5. You should notice that the ground contact is depressed into the plastic and the plastic itelf is slightly warped down. I was able to use a small pair of needle nose pliers that have a 45 degree angle to press up on the contact from underneath using the opposite lip of the hole as leverage (very carefully). Once it had moved up a bit, I was able to wedge a mini-flathead screwdriver in between the metal contact and the plastic to force the contact up even further (again, very carefully). Once it looked even with the rest, gently reinsert the connector and test. Hope this helps...

Why won't the brake and parking lights turn off in a 1992 Toyota Corolla?

Brake and parking lights? Are you sure, the two aren't interconnected. Maybe it's just the brake light. If so, sounds like a bad brake light switch. If you step on the brakes and the brake and parking (sometimes called running lights) lights come on it sounds like you have a real problem. Suggest you have it checked right away.

Why would new tires shake at high speeds even after balancing when they didn't shake before?

Usually when new tires are installed, they will be put 35 psi of air pressure in them. Look at the label inside the drivers door to see what tire pressure your manufacture recommends for you vehicles suspension setup, and then check your tire pressure. If lower tire pressure will dampen the shake, then it is an undesirable product of the vehicles design.

Then again, I have had carelessly installed balancing weights fly off a tire before. If this happens to a front tire, it will be much more noticeable, especially if it was a large weight that was used to balance the tire. More information would help, vehicle make and model, number of doors.

If tires shake after a new install, there are quite a few possibilites. These are the most common. The car needs to be taken back to the place of the install and all tires spin checked on the tire balancer for a good smooth roll and perfect balance. If by chance you bought the lower price tires they sold you may have out of round tires. This makes the tires hop no matter how well balanced, and they will shake until they are turned on the wheel to cancel the "bad roll". This doesn't mean you have bad or defective tires. You have to understand that all wheels and tires have a high spot on a 360 degree circle. Nothing is perfectly round. On problematic tires this can be fixed. If the appropriate measures when taken to cure the problem, and it didn't fix it....That tire must be replaced. Full warranty of course. This happens with Michelin and some other top brands...not just your cheaper lines. If you have custom wheels, these require two plane balancing with sticky weights. You might need a more qualified shop to cure this, as it gets tricky. With fancy wheels, find a good tire shop and stick with them if you have good experiences with them. Rotate every 6,000 miles religiously! Some people do more often and some less, but with 6,000 you can't go wrong and will have decent life and tire wear. Combine this service with oil changes to save time and money. Change your oil every 3,000mi and rotate your tires every other oil change. You can't go wrong with those basic rules. Good Luck!

Why do your brake lights stay on after changing the power booster and main caliper?

Make sure all air is out of the lines. Next check the vacuum lines from the booster. Make sure the Emergency brake is all the way off this ca cause the brake light to stay on also. The light only comes on (usually) when pressure is being lost or not maintained. If there was a abs sensor connector at that wheel check that also.

How do you figure out why the air bag light is flashing on a 1998 Corolla?

I have a 98 corolla, and my air bag light flashes almost all the time. I had it checked, and the mechanics told me that it was for the passenger side air bag, they said that there's something faulty and the air bag on that side wouldn't go off in an emergency like it's supposed to, and the only way to make the light quit blinking would be to put in a new air bag which would cost over $1000. I chose not to because I rarely have anyone else in the car besides myself, so nobody usually rides on the passenger side. I think they said it was a "short" or something. However, I've found wires under the passenger seat and sometimes when I jiggle them, the light will stop blinking. Sometimes it will stop blinking too when I move the passenger seat all the way back. I think there's something loose down deep somewhere. Anyway, even if I can get it to stop blinking, it always comes back eventually. I've just learned to ignore it. This probably didn't help much, but hope it answered some questions.

Where is the fuse block for the blower motor in a 1998 Volvo S70GLT?

When you open the hood, look in the upper right section of the engine compartment and you will see the "Main fuse box". When you locate that look about 5 inches directly above that, basically on top of the right side of the firewall near where the strut tower gets bolted too and you'll find it. I believe it's fuse 32, but not sure. They put it in with a random assortment of things, hope that helped!

Air bag light stays on for my Chrysler 300?

So does mine, the dealer told me I needed a new air bag, so I had one installed. The light went out for about 2 weeks then came back on again. The light has played on again off again, for a couple of years and thousands of miles. next it was the check engine light that played the on off game. then it was the cruise control indicator light that started playing on-off. I am now taking the car to the dealer because the, gas fill indicator light, engine rpm indicator light , the clock, and the vehicle speed indicator light have went out. Mine is a 2003 300M with 219,546 miles.....looks really good.....runs good.....drives nice, just has a wiring problem. I bought it in 2005 with 37,000 on it.
