Remove a 1992 Corvette door panel?
Your in luck, Just the year I own... start by removing the press in keepers in the bottom of the door panel(round, interior color)there are 5 of these along the very bottom of the door panel. next emove the 2 Phillips screws from the interior door pull handle, the one you use to close the door(look straight down into it) then remove the one Phillips screw from behind the interior door relese handle. carefully with a 90 degree pick, pull straight out on the manuel door lock knob, it will pry off, then slip that piece forward and off so the door panel will clear the lock rod, the mirror/window switches simply pry out of the panel, I just worked my release handle and switches back through the holes in the door panel when removing my panel, slightly tug the door panel up and towards you, it should come right off, good luck and be careful....Kenny W.

Changing battery in 2004 Honda accord key fob?
Look at the plastic part right next to the metal key and you will see a very, very, tiny phillips screw. Remove that screw and it will open up. Be sure and use a jewelers type phillips screwdriver to remove it as you will damage the screw unless you have a tiny screwdriver.
Should be a button on center console..Just underneath hanbrake button.
As with any vehicle, you have options, based on your own preferences and money you have to throw at the problem. -First choice (most expensive/least risky)Copy the VIN number (metal strip on the dash, just inside the windshield, driver's side) take the number to a Ford dealer and have him code-cut you a new set of keys (usually just one combo key for a 96 Crown Vic). - Less expensive/more risky: try a coat hanger around the edge of either driver or passenger side front window. With some patience and luck, you may be able to hit the electric door lock on the arm rest. - Also cheap, but risky: Try a 'slim Jim' (Hack saw blade with a hook or notch filed in one end) along the outside edge of the base of the driver side door window. The intent is to snag the mechanical part of the electric door lock and unlatch it- without messing up the wiring. - Last resort: Your choice of brick, bat, hammer or crow bar, against the driver side rear door window (easier to live with than no driver door window and you don't have to see out of it. Patch the hole with plastic sheeting and duct tape until you can have the window replaced. Using a rear window entry also minimizes glass shards on the front seat.)
There is one more choice and that is a locksmith. It will cost about 35 bucks. In the future either put key on the outside of the car in a magnetic key holder or get towing added to your car insurance. It only cost a few bucks a year but will pay for towing if your car breaks down or a locksmith if you lock your keys in the car.
How do you fix a door latch is already in the locked position?
To fix a door latch already in the locked position, first you pick the lock. Actually you many not need to do that unless there is only one door into the room. What you will do will depend on the type of lock. If the lock is in the door handle, there may be a small rectangular indentation underneath the door handle. If there is, put a small screw driver in it and take push it in. While it is pushed in pull out the door handle. You will then see the unit that goes into the hole in the door jam. It will have a place that you can pull back with a screwdriver. Pull it back and then you should be able to open the door. If the lock is one that will not work and you are inside. There should be some screws in the lock itself that you can unscrew and do the same thing. There are also solvents available at hardware stores that you can squirt into difficult locks that will let them open with a key.
Should you change locks on your car if you loose the keys?
Probably not worth the expense or the trouble - UNLESS - you lost them somewhere where, if they were found, someone would know it was your car -OR- someone took them, knowing they belonged to you, intending to use the car without your knowledge. A dealer or well equipped locksmith shop can make you new set of keys using the vehicles VIN number alone.
you need to go to the buick dealer and buy a new module and replace. it cost me 15.00 for a 92 park ave. easy job 10 min.
What would cause your 1996 Saturn sl2 door locks to cycle open and close?
This is something that needs to be diagnosed but It is most likely a bad ground to to keyless entry control module, a faulty instrument fuse panel or a pinched wire in one of the front doors. Difficult to give an answer as could be a number of things @@@ I had the same issue on my 97 SC2 while I was at the range in Florida. Turns out, all the dealership in Saint Pete did was change the battery, problem solved. But as the last person mentioned, it could be a number of different things@@@
Is the door lock switch on a Mercedez 300SD supposed to lock and unlock all doors?
The driver's side lock unlocks and locks the other doors, gas panel, and trunk, depending on how you have set the trunk lock. If you have one you can figure out the trunk if your system is working. There are two settings.
You can NOT lock the driver's side door if the door is open. This is to prevent you from locking your key inside.
The easiest way is to find another 1991 Cadillac Deville, open the hood, and inspect how the hood latch works. While the hood is still open, see what method you can use to trip the unlock mechanism. You may be able to enter from under the bumper to trip the mechanism. You may be able to enter from the gap between the hood and body when it is closed. You will have to use ingenuity on the tool you will devise, like a hacksaw blade or a thin piece of sheet metal. Good Luck

How do you open tailgate on 89 blazer glass will open but no key and need to drop tailgate?
If the glass will open, you can just use a slotted screwdriver inserted into the key slot to drop the gate. Takes a little pressure, but it will work.
If it doesn't, and the glass doesn't click when closed, the hinge inside is stuck. You can push on it with the screwdriver and it should move. then try the screwdriver in the key slot again and it should drop the gate.

Is there another way to open the hood on a 1992 Cadillac Deville if the hood release is not working?
My step daughter just bought a 92. If you look through the grill you will see the latch mechanism on the hood. A little hard to do, but with the hood partially released you can barely get your arm up under the hood, push left on the latch while pulling down on hood to release pressure. . I was looking for location of fuel filter when I saw the question. Jerry
i am not sure why it does that but on the 97 it is the opposite it is simply a glitch in the wireing nothing to really worry about
My 97 did the same thing except it the bell worked on all the other doors except the driver door so my cousin took the little button sensor off the back door and rewired it to the front door and now it works like its supposed to.. he said that the driver one just got wore out.
How do you open the hood on 1996 Pontiac Bonneville when the release cable is broken?
Are you Positive the release Cable is broken, I'm currently having the same problem with my girlfriends car but the cable is still attached but the latch is sticking, My best advice is first try pulling on the cable from the interior of your car with pliers. if the cable comes free and the hood doesn't pop Yeah, it's broken, and you'll have to manually pop the hood from underneat MUCH easier said than done. if the cable holds then you're in luck, get a friend to hold the hood release open while you hold the latch on the front of the car and try to lift jiggling up and down also works sometimes and if I'm not mistaken then either one of the springs on your latch is broken or it is just too gummed up with dirty grease, I haven't yet diagnosed my Girlfriends entirely. I'll post my findings as soon as I can.
You can also try pulling on the remaining part of the cable with a pair of Vise-Grips or similar, then bang on the hood with your fist a few times. The hood should then pop up enough to enable you to release the safety latch. I've found this works on most cars when you're stuck and there's no one around to help you...
Why do the doors of a 2000 Kia Sportage lock by themselves?
This is part of the security sytem of the kia. Its connnected to the alarm system. If you wish to prevent this you can disconnect the automatic locks or just pull the fuse from the alarm box. Hence you will also disable the alarm. When the car is started it senses the electrical difference and assumes that you are in the car. Then the alarm box locks the doors.
