How do you reset the check engine light on a 2002 Trailblazer?

By having the problem that exists with the emissions controls repaired. Check to see if the gas cap was off or not on properly. If that's the case, the light will go automatically in 2 to 3 days. If not, then you have a bigger problem that would require mechanical help with diagnostic equipment. Any dealer or repair shop should be able to tell what's up.

What is the round yellow warning light on your 2001 vw jetta mean?

My best guess is its your Traction Control Warning... Meaning your Tires are lossing traction to the road either because of snow ice or water. the reason that is what i think it is, is because a friend of mine has a Mercedes with a large triangle warning light (Yellow) that means the same thing. Again its not a professional opinion its just what i think it might mean

Who out there has had problems with their reverse gear in their 98 Jetta with standard 5 speed Transmission?

i haven't had problems with my 98 reverse, but my other gears have acted up. i believe that it might be the syncronizer. i sometimes cant get in 2nd or 4th gear. i have to shift it back and forth to work it in. SO, i might be having the same problem. a mechanic told me to either change the transmission fluid or to go ahead and get the syncronizer checked out. i haven't had problems with my 98 reverse, but my other gears have acted up. i believe that it might be the syncronizer. i sometimes cant get in 2nd or 4th gear. i have to shift it back and forth to work it in. basic things for a tune up wires, spark plugs, air filter, possible oil change

when was the last time the transmission and fuel filters were changed?

recommendation:

fuel filter should be replaced yearly for high mileage vehicles. vehicles used occasion or only drive short distances on a daily basis, then you can probably get away with a filter replacement every two or even three years

trans filter-depends on the type of car, but for optimum protection, change the fluid and filter every 30,000-100,000 miles

How do you change the license plate bulb on a 2006 Hyundai Sonata?

There are two rectangular plastic lens above the license plate. They are held in place by spring clips, located on the narrow side of the lens. They cannot be seen until you remove the lens.

To remove the lens, insert a flat tip screw driver (covered with electrical tape) on either of the narrow sides, pry the lens out slightly, and then push in the direction the screw driver is already facing. If you correctly engaged the clip with the screwdriver, you will have compressed the clip, and now you can continue to pry with the screwdriver. The lens will now pop out. It's a bit like picking a lock. Once you see how it works, it's very easy to do it again.

Once the lens is out, turn counterclockwise on the bulb holder (sometimes they are pretty snug) to remove it from the lens. The bulb pulls straight out of its socket; no turning.

Do you need to change the oil filter each oil change?

Highly recommended, certainly can't hurt anything. Having driven hundreds of thousands of miles changing oil and oil filters at 3,000 mile intervals I've yet to have any engine failure. If you are kind and diligent to your car's engine, it will be kind to you and give you years of reliable service.

Although the above is mostly true the 3,000 mile oil change is a thing of the past and is no longer required on modern vehicles with today's oils and filters. It is a total waste of money and oil. I have been driving hundreds of thousands of miles changing my oil/filter every 5,000 miles with not one internal engine problem and my vehicles burn no oil at all. Most auto manufactures today recommend you change your oil at 5,000, 7,500, or even 10,000 miles. So, follow the manufactures recommendation on when to change the oil/filter. There are some newer vehicles where the 3,000 mile oil change may still be required but not many. But definitely change the filter every single time you change the oil.

Where exactly is the transmission computer TCU located on a 92 Mitsubishi Diamonte?

uh..page 122 I think... ...everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the library should have a professional shop manual available for FREE to make copies of...read up and repair like a PRO! Dave :) -------------------------

Thanks, Dave, but I'm pretty sure he was asking where it's located in the car. ;-) Besides, I have the shop manual for the Diamante and the TCU isn't even mentioned.

I'll assume that your car has the LS trim level (DOHC engine), but I doubt it's in a different place for the ES (SOHC engine). The TCU itself is located clear under the back of the console, in the center near the firewall. The easiest way I've found to get to it is to pull back the carpet on either side of the center console (in the area where your feet go). Get on the floor and look toward the front of the car through the new holes you created; you should see a gold box lying horizontally (if you're looking from the passenger side, you'll see the wiring harnesses as well).

Getting to it could be a bit of a pain, though: it's not exactly meant to be removed. First, of course, make sure you disconnect the car's battery, and grab a light -- there's not much of it where you'll be working. There's a bit of metal frame behind the carpet that you've pulled back; you'll have to remove that on both sides to get to the computer (there are two or three screws on each piece, which is less than a foot long). You can proceed from here in one of two ways: either undo the bolts on the bottom of the mounting bracket and take out only the computer, or undo the one bolt on the floor and the two bolts behind the TCU on the wall and remove the bracket with it. Either way, you have to work from both sides to get it out. Once everything's unbolted and the wiring harness unplugged, press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and pull the TCU out on the driver's side (if you left the bracket bolted in, you'll have to lift the computer slightly to free the bolts from the bracket).

Signal flasher relay?

How do you expect anyone to answer this goofy question? Actually, it's not even a question, it's a statement with a question mark after it. If you're serious about getting an answer, state what your problem is and the year, make, and model of your vehicle.

Would cutting the hot wire to the starter on your 97 vr6 jetta and hooking it up to a button change the way your auto transmission shifts?

Not a good idea. Car will start in gear. Most likely you prblem is in the safety neutral and back up light switch that is easily replaced and located in the rear of the trans housing facing the firewall near the top[ of the trans. To replace unplug the wires and remove one bolt and bracket holding it in. Slide it straight out the trans.
