The header manufacturers make a braket that straddles over the front header tube, and will allow you to mount it there. See your local speed shop.

The alternator belt on a 1993 Nissan 300ZX will typically squeal if it has excessive wear or it has become lose. This provides a good opportunity to replace the belt before it complete fails.

If you have to ask, take it somewhere acredited by ASE Certified technicians. If you do not know how to remove an alt. you are risking certain death of you, your family, and everyone else on the road.

Generally, if a car engine will not turn over without a jump start, the battery is not charged. Either the alternator is not charging it, or the battery has failed and will not hold a charge. Since you have replaced the alternator, that leaves the battery. You can have your battery tested at an auto parts store before buying a new one. It is also possible that there is something draining your battery while the engine is off. The clicking noise from the ABS indicates possible electrical system malfunctions that are best diagnosed by a professional mechanic.

Not sure, but it falls between 85 and 100 amps.

There are two bolts one is visible on the front and one on the rear. There is a nut on the right side next to the ground on the alternator. once it, the ground, and the molex plug are removed it pops right out. One key thing to remember when putting it back on is to be sure to put the belt on before you put the bolts back in, or you have to mess with the tension pulley.

Make sure your connnections are tight on your battery. Make sure the ground wire is secure. Also, make sure the positive connection is secure on the starter, & check all other connections to the starter, check for bad wires going to the starter. Also, check all of your fuses. Be sure to check ALL grounds. The battery's and the engine's. The engine has two, or more. The starter has it's own. The battery's, of course. Sometimes oil and grime get in between the ground wires and it's posts on both the battery, and engine. Also, check the straps that connect the engine to the chassis. Some positive cables will incorporate a fusible link coming from the battery.....check. These tips are if there is no power even to your lights. If it's just your ignition, then that's a little more complicated.

Battery has a dead cell, need to replace battery

Loosen the upper and lower alternator mounting bolts.

Turn the adjustment bolt on the lower left-hand side of the alternator.

You should only be able to bend the belt 90 degrees at its longest run, in the middle.

When done adjusting, tighten the upper and lower alternator mounting bolts.

This wire is connected to the solenoid along with a wire going to the power distribution system (Fuse box), but the connection or split is after the fusible link on the wire comming from the alternator. On most vehicles, those connections are attached to the same solenoid bolt. The connection there at the bolt, is done there because the large Positive battery cable also comes to that bolt.

DIODES ONLY SERVE ONE PURPOSE , THEY LET THE ELECTRIC FLOW IN ONE DIRECTION ONLY..........SO IT IS PROBABLY THERE TO KEEP THE ALTERNATOR FROM REVERSING POLARITY.

Chevy Tahoe Heater Return Pipe Hey GMMerlin, I have a leak coming from that threaded fitting for the heater hose. Can this be fixed simply by retightening the fitting or do I need to buy a new one?

You will have to replace it...most likely when you touch it, it will break and leave the threaded part in the intake.. Its a PIA to remove the broken off portion, but you don't have to take the manifold off to do it.

Go to www.thread-saver.com for a new tool to remove the broken part.

if it breaks off you can get the threads out with a small punch and then use wet dry vac. to remove small parts in hole. you can just buy the threaded part and use hose clamp to connect after you cut off the end of hose that is crimped it has a small lock ring that will also go bad or crack not a great design by chev. do it yourself in 10 min or so

First you disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery then you you unhook the wiring harness, remove the serpentine belt, unbolt it, and reverse to replace. If this process is not obvious to you I suggest you take it to a shop.

If yo have power to both wires at the starter when trying to crank, the starter is failed.

If you have it done by a dealer, probably around $200. The alternator itself can be purchased for about $80.00, but, if you don't know how to install it yourself you can expect to pay for an hour labor. Depending on the shop that can run from $50.00 to 100.00 per hour.

a motor is a generator and a generator is a motor, if you are applying a voltage to turn the rotor its a motor and if you are turning the rotor and taking the voltage off the terminals its a generator or alternator.

Check your ignition fuse,its in the fuse box,also,your fusible link could be burnt or melted,its connected to your positive battery cable,if burnt or melted,then its your problem.
