How do I replace the PCV valve in my 1990 Acura Integra?
PCV Valve Replacement. A Bad PCV Valve sometimes causes decreased gas mileage. Depending on the age of your engine, this plastic valve could be rather easy or extremely difficult to remove. Do yourself a favor and CHECK FIRST to see if it needs to be replaced. To CHECK: At engine idle, lightly pinch the hose connecting the PCV Valve to the Intake Manifold. If there is a clicking sound coming from the PCV valve, it is fine. If not, you may need to replace the PCV Valve. What you Need: New PCV Valve (~$3 aftermarket; ~$14 OEM Honda Part) 1. Look at the throttle body assembly. You are going to see a mess of vacuum hoses running all over the throttle body, the one that you need to be concerned about is the hose that's on the right hand front side of the throttle body. 2. Once you find that hose follow it down to the intake runners. The hose will lead you to the left (passenger side) of the engine, kind of right behind the oil fill cap. 3. The PCV valve has a 90 degree bend on the top of it were the vacuum hose from the throttle body hooks to it. 4. The easy way to remove the PCV valve is to gently rock it side to side as you pull upward. Once you have it out, you can disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle body. 5. Installation is the reverse.
Would a car start running then stall immediately if there was a PVC valve that needed replacing?
only if the engine is on its last legs , try removing the valve and see what happens . to be safe have a mate holding the key so you can switch off straght away if any problems . dont run engine for over 15 seconds with no valve as if engine is on last legs then it may!, pump oil out and destroy what you have left!!!
Why does a 2 cycle engine carburetor spit?
Your bolts are too tight on the carburetor...over time, the carb is going to split because it's just aluminum.
Where is the PCV valve on a 1999 Plymouth Breeze?
I will assume that this is a 2.0 engine. There is so much confusion with this as auto parts stores will sell you the 90 degree inline version simply because that is what their data base says they all take. Not so! Standing at the front of your engine, if you see a plastic fitting threaded into the right end of the valve cover connected to a hose, that is your PCV valve. Auto parts dealers do not recognize that configuration for whatever reason.
The Chrysler part number is 4777240AC. Napa does not stock it in their stores that I'm aware of but, they can cross reference the number and they do stock it in their warehouses. I just ordered one tonight after two weeks of searching for the right part.
Hope this helps...Cheers!
If you find that your PCV valve is threaded into the valve cover on a 99 Plymouth Breeze 2.0 engine, the NAPA part number is 2-9479.
Does 89 Ranger 2.3 Liter have a PCV valve and where on earth is it?
Yes, the 1989 Ranger does have a PCV valve. I can speak for the 2.3 liter 4-cylinder version only. If you stand on the driver side of the engine compartment you will see the intake manifold (silver cast looking with the name FORD on it), on the bottom of the intake there is a 90 degree elbow (the intake forms a "Y" and if you look through the "Y" you can see the elbow) that points back toward the firewall. Connected to this is a rubber hose that routes back toward the firewall and then turns down at the firewall-side of the intake. If you follow this hose along you will come to the PCV valve. The valve is installed in the hose and connects to another rubber hose on the other side of the PCV valve. Hope this helps.
crankcase oil is the oil in the engine .some call it crankcase oil some call it engine oil
Where is the PCV valve located on a 1995 ford ranger 3.0 liter?
The PCV valve is located on top of the engine, just right of the intake manifold. One end is pushed in the hose that comes out of the top of the valve cover, the other end goes to a short length tube connected to the throttle throat.

What Is Positive Crankcase Ventilation?
An engine's combustion chamber does not have a perfect seal. At the time of ignition, some of the expanding gas leaks past the rings into the bottom (crankcase) of the engine, known as the Blowby Gases. This gas contains oil and partially burned fuel that can pressurize the bottom half of the engine, leading to blown oil seals and making it harder for the engine to work.
The Positive Crankcase Ventilation system allows a route for these gases to be scavenged and passed back through the engine for consumption. It reduces emissions and keeps the engine from over pressurizing.
Where is the PCV valve located on a 1991 Chevy Cavalier?
I have a '91 RS with a 2.2 4 cyl engine and came across the pcv valve by accident- it is inside of the valve cover. Look at the top of the valve cover on the passenger side. There will be a hose- one end goes to the intake manifold and the other to a plastic fitting (with a nut) on the vlave cover. Take off hose and unscrew plastic fitting. Fitting will have 3 prongs on it and a "O" ring. Take needle nose pliers and reach into the valve cover to pull out the pcv valve. There should also be a "O" ring on the pcv valve which holds it into place. Put "O" ring on new valve and push back in by hand- you will feel it "snap" in. Screw back in plastic fitting and connect hose.
Where is the PCV valve located on 2004 outlander?

Where is the pcv valve located on a 1996 GMC Sonoma?
Hi, I have a 1996 GMC Sonoma with a 5 speed manual trans, 2.2 liter (4 cylinder) engine. The pcv on my Sonoma is located on top of the valve cover on the FRONT portion of the engine. It is held in place by a screw in star shaped plug. To get to it remove the square plastic cover with GM on it that covers the accelerator cables (1 small screw on top of cover), pull the hose off, pliers to loosen plug, unscrew plug and pull out PCV.
THE HOSE going to the back of my valve cover is just a vent tube, the aluminum tube sticking out is NOT the PCV, just a sraight through tube. Lee
Do you need to replace the existing shower valve if you want to change the exterior fixtures?
Not always, there is a standard shower valve that most handles will work for. it depends on what your set up is. As far as the shower head is concerned you should be able to put anything on.
As I'm standing at Home Depot looking at all the different shower valves on the display I wonder which one is the "standard" that all handles and trim fit on. The fact is unless you are replacing with it the same valve or in some cases the same brand all the trim plates and handles have to be changed.
*It TOTALLY depends on the brand and make of your faucet. You would have to determine what brand the faucet is(ex. Moen, Delta), The next move is to determine which model it is(ex. Moen Heritage, Delta Leland). Then you get their own catalogue # and determine what cover plate, handle and screws will fit onto your existing faucet, order them, and replace them. ALL FAUCETS AND THEIR PARTS ARE MADE DIFFERENTLY!!!*Cheers, QuiteSomething
Ans 4 - YES, you DO need to replace this valve unless your new fixture is identical
Where is the pcv valve on a '95 Plymouth neon highline?
If you look on the front of your engine, you'll see the four tunnels of the intake manifold. Follow them down until you come to what looks like a housing or cover at the bottom of the intake manifold. There are two hoses clamped to it. The one tot he right leads to your power brake booster. The one to the left is blocked by the wires from your injectors. That's the hose you're after. It is in two parts and has an "L" shaped thing-a-ma-jig clamped in the middle of it out of sight because of the wires I mentioned before. The "L" shaped thing is the PCV valve. Good luck getting to it.

Where is the PCV valve on an Oldsmobile V6 3300 motor?
Yes there is a PCV valve. The PCV valve on GM 3.8 liter engines in on the passenger side of the car upper plenum in a well or compartment. This well has a pressure sensor on top of a 1/4 turn cover.Under this cover maybe a spring and two o-rings one on the cover & one on the PCV valve itself.Be careful don't break the pressure sensor, it also has a seal that fits into the PCV cover. The 3300 is a smaller version of the Buick 231, AKA 3800. The 3800 has no PCV valve. I could not find it either on my girlfriend's old Olds 3300. I think it's safe to assume that it simply doesn't have one. Go to a parts store and ask them to look up one. I'll bet they won't have it. The PCV valve sucks crankcase gases into the intake where they can be combusted. The valve itself protects the crankcase from becoming pressureized in the case of backfire which could cause lots of bad stuff. I'm assuming that the 3800 has enough crankcase "ventilation" where this wouldn't be a problem.
